To install or remove the die head on your RIDGID 300 Compact:

The die head engages and disengages from the carriage shaft. When fully engaged, the die head is securely held in place.

For quick-opening die heads (models 811A, 531/532):

Position the head with the numbers facing up
Move the release lever to the OPEN position
Loosen the tightening lever by about 3 turns
Lift the washer and move it towards the end
Remove and replace the dies - ensure that the numbered edge is flush with the edge of the die head
Tighten the tightening lever

Once installed, you can rotate the die head to align it with the pipe or lift it to use other tools (pipe cutter or reamer).

Important: Always replace dies with complete sets. Never mix dies from different sets. After any change, perform a test threading to check the thread pitch compliance before continuing work.
