Comment connecter le commutateur à un réseau ?

Utilisez un câble droit (straight-through) Catégorie 5 ou supérieure pour relier les ports RJ-45 du commutateur à vos périphériques réseau (PC, serveur, etc.). Branchez le câble d'alimentation et allumez le commutateur. Les voyants Link/ACT s'allument pour indiquer une connexion établie.

Quels types de câbles utiliser ?

Pour 10Base-T : câble Cat. 3, 4 ou 5 UTP/STP. Pour 100Base-TX et 1000Base-T : câble Cat. 5 UTP/STP. Grâce à la fonction Auto-MDI/MDI-X, vous pouvez utiliser un câble droit (straight-through) pour tous vos branchements, même pour relier deux commutateurs entre eux.

Que signifie chaque LED ?

La LED Power (jaune) s'allume quand l'appareil est sous tension. Les LEDs 1000M (jaune) indiquent une liaison à 1000 Mbps ; éteintes, la liaison est à 10/100 Mbps. Les LEDs Link/ACT (jaune) s'allument pour une connexion établie et clignotent lors du transfert de données.

Comment configurer un lien à 1000 Mbps ?

Le commutateur négocie automatiquement la vitesse la plus élevée possible avec le périphérique connecté. Pour garantir une liaison à 1000 Mbps, assurez-vous que votre équipement (carte réseau, etc.) supporte le Gigabit et utilisez un câble Cat. 5 ou supérieur en bon état. Aucune configuration manuelle n'est nécessaire : la fonction Auto-Négociation s'en charge.

Le commutateur supporte-t-il le jumbo frame ?

Oui, le commutateur supporte les Jumbo frames jusqu'à 9 Ko. Cela permet d'optimiser le transfert de gros fichiers sur le réseau en réduisant la fragmentation. Assurez-vous que les périphériques connectés soient aussi configurés pour utiliser la même taille de jumbo frame.

Quelle est la consommation électrique maximale ?

La consommation maximale est de 20 Watts. Le commutateur utilise une alimentation interne AC 90-240 V, 50-60 Hz. Il intègre la technologie Quiet & Cool sans ventilateur, ce qui réduit la consommation et le bruit.

Peut-on monter le commutateur en rack ?

Oui, le commutateur a un format compact de 9 pouces et peut être monté dans un rack 10 pouces ou 19 pouces à l'aide d'équerres (non fournies). Il est également conçu pour une utilisation sur bureau.

Comment résoudre un problème de connectivité ?

Vérifiez d'abord que les LEDs Power et Link/ACT sont allumées. Si une LED est éteinte, essayez un autre câble ou un autre port. Assurez-vous que les paramètres réseau (IP, etc.) de vos périphériques sont corrects. En cas de problème persistant, redémarrez le commutateur en le débranchant quelques secondes. Le commutateur nécessite-t-il un pilote spécifique ?

Non, le commutateur est plug-and-play. Il ne nécessite aucun pilote ni logiciel d'installation. Branchez-le simplement et il fonctionne immédiatement. La configuration matérielle est automatique grâce à l'Auto-Négociation et à la fonction Auto-MDI/MDI-X.

Introduction

The Switch provides 8 10/100/1000Mbps NWAY RJ-45 ports. It was designed for easy installation and high performance in an environment where traffic on the network and the number of user increase continuously. With newest Gigabit chip set, eTen 9" Gigabit Ethernet switch can fully support highest speed without hanging on problem even when Full-duplex full loaded.

The switch also provides automatic crossover detection functionality on each port. It is simple and friendly to up-link to another switch without crossover cable.

Comet Labs Quiet & Cool technology : No fan needed, no noise. A specific design for better cooling flow.

The compact rigid desktop size was specifically designed for ROBO (Remote Office & Branch Office) and medium to large workgroups. The Switch can be installed where space is limited; moreover it provides smooth network migration and easy upgrade to network capacity. The 9" size can be rack-mount on 10" or 19" cabinet.

I. 8 RJ-45 Gigabit Switch Ports

There are 8 RJ-45 connectors on the front panel for connecting to servers, workstation or other devices. The Switch provides 8 10/100/1000Mbps switching ports that could sense the 10/100/1000M speed and negotiate Full/Half duplex mode automatically. These switching ports allow users to connect the Switch to 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T devices.

I. To connect the Switch to PCs, servers, and other network devices

Use straight-through twisted-pair cable (Cat. 5) to connect the Switch to PCs, servers and other network devices. Networks can be built as figure shown.

II. To connect the Switch to a Switch or a Hub

Use straight-through twisted pair cable to connect the Switch to another Switch or Hub on uplink port. If you connect the Switches on port 1 to port 8, the cable should be changed to crossover cable.
