The maintenance of the ELICA SHY S WH/A/90 hood focuses on three elements: the surfaces, the grease filters, and the activated carbon filters.

Exterior and interior surfaces

Use exclusively a damp cloth with a neutral liquid detergent. Avoid any abrasive tools, scouring sponges, and alcohol. The manual recommends cleaning both inside and outside at least once a month. Wear work gloves and always unplug the device before any intervention.

Grease filter (monthly cleaning)

To remove it, pull on the spring release handle. Wash it:

By hand with a mild detergent
In the dishwasher at low temperature and short cycle

A slight yellowing after washing in the dishwasher is normal and does not affect filtration performance.

Activated carbon filter (recycling version only)

There are two types depending on your configuration:

Non-washable circular filter: to be replaced every 4 months at most - it cannot be cleaned or regenerated.
