How do I reset my TP-Link Powerline adapter?

Press and hold the Pair button for about 10 seconds until the power LED briefly turns off. You can also use the tpPLC utility to perform a reset.

What should I do if I have no Internet access through the Powerline network?

Check that all adapters are plugged into the same electrical circuit. Ensure the Powerline LEDs are lit; otherwise, re-pair the adapters. Check Ethernet connections and that your computer is on the same subnet as the router.

Why don't my paired Powerline adapters reconnect after being moved?

Try plugging them into other outlets on the same circuit. If the problem persists, re-pair the adapters. Keep them away from electrical devices that generate interference (dryer, air conditioner, etc.).

How do I secure my Powerline network using the Pair button?

Press the Pair button on one adapter for 1 second, then within 2 minutes press the Pair button on the second adapter for 1 second. The Powerline LEDs will blink and then remain on to indicate the network is secured.

How do I add a new adapter to an existing Powerline network?

Press the Pair button on an adapter already in the network for 1 second, then within 2 minutes press the Pair button on the new adapter for 1 second. Repeat for each adapter to add.

Can I use multiple Powerline adapters on the same electrical network?

Yes, you can add up to 16 Powerline adapters or extenders on the same circuit. Make sure to pair them to form a secure network.

What should I do if Powerline speeds are slow?

Check that adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets, not power strips. Avoid interference from electrical devices. Use the tpPLC utility to check signal quality.

How do I install the tpPLC utility?

Download the utility from the TP-Link website (www.tp-link.com). Install it on your computer to manage advanced settings such as QoS, firmware updates, or diagnostics.

Are Powerline adapters compatible with power strips?

It is not recommended to plug Powerline adapters into power strips. Prefer a direct wall outlet. If the adapter has a pass-through socket, plug the power strip into that socket, but do not connect another Powerline adapter to it.

What to do in case of failure or malfunction?

Consult the complete user manual. If the problem persists, contact TP-Link technical support. Do not attempt to open or repair the adapter yourself; this would void the warranty.

1. Connect one adapter to a LAN port of your router using an Ethernet cable.

Q3. What can I do if a successfully-paired powerline device does not reconnect after it has been moved to a new location?

A1. Try another socket and make sure it is on the same electrical circuit.

A2. Try to pair it again, and make sure the Powerline LED is on.

A3. Check for possible interference, such as a washer, air conditioner or other household appliances that may be too close to one of the powerline devices. Plug the appliance into the integrated electrical socket (if the powerline device has one) to remove some electrical noise.

More advanced configurations, such as firmware upgrade and QoS configuration, can be accessed through the tpPLC Utility. You can install the tpPLC Utility from the TP-Link official website.
