General notes on safety
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must not play with the device.
- Ensure that there are no children or pets are in the vicinity of the working area.
• People who are not familiar with the operating instructions may not use the appliance. Local regulations may specify the
- minimum age of the operator. - Check the appliance, battery cables and terminals for damage before each use. Use only original accessories. Do not work with a damaged or incomplete appliance or one which has been converted without the permission of the manufacturer. Ensure that damage to your appliance is made good by a specialist or by customer service (see "Service Center"). This ensures the safety of the appliance is maintained.
- Make sure before use that the appliance is properly assembled. Always fasten the hoses with hose clamps to prevent the release of the hoses and oil spills.
- The appliance may only be powered with SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) as indicated by the label on the appliance.
- Keep the appliance away from rainy or wet conditions. Penetration of water into the electrical appliance increases the risk of electric shock.
- Pay attention as well to the operating instructions of your vehicle manufacturer regarding the pumping of oil.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as work clothes, breathing protection, goggles and gloves. We recommend the use of acid
and alkali-resistant protective gloves. The wearing of personal protective equipment reduces the risk of injury.
- Be attentive and use common sense when working with this appliance. Never leave the appliance unattended during the pumping operation. A moment of inattention while operating the appliance may result in injury.
- Fuels and lubricants can damage health. Avoid direct skin contact and inhalation of fumes. Rinse wetted skin areas with soap and water and consult a doctor if necessary.
- Be especially careful when working on a vehicle battery. Battery acid may leak and cause serious injury. Rinse the affected skin or eyes with water and consult a doctor if necessary.
- Do not park your vehicle on an inclined surface, as a complete drainage is not possible then.
- Grasp the terminals only by the insulated handles. Connect the positive pole terminal to the positive pole of the vehicle battery and the negative terminal to the negative pole (see "Operational start-up"). The possibility of an electrical short circuit is thereby avoided.
- The connection cable of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the
GBIENI
appliance must be scrapped.
- Do not pump when the engine is switched on or hot. Do not start the vehicle engine during the pumping process. There is a risk of burning.
- Never pump for longer than 30 minutes in continuous operation in order to prevent overheating and damage to the appliance.
- Do not pump oil at a temperature over 60°C. There is a risk of burning and appliance damage.
- Do not use the appliance near flammable liquids or gases. Do not smoke during the drainage process. Make sure there is good ventilation in the work area. There is a risk of fire or explosion if this advice is not heeded.
- Do not pump flammable materials or gasoline. There is a risk of fire or explosion if this advice is not heeded.
- Do not run the appliance dry. Do not pump water or aqueous solutions. The appliance can become damaged as a result of insufficient lubrication.
- Collect the pumped off oil only in designated containers. Do not pump different oils into the same container.
- Disconnect from the vehicle battery terminals after the pumping process.
- Do not carry the appliance by means of the battery connection cable or the hoses and keep the connection cable and hoses away from hot vehicle parts or sharp edges. The appliance could be damaged.
- Keep the appliance and the used oil in a dry place and out of reach of children.
- Dispose of used oil and soaked rags properly (see "Waste Disposal/Environmental Protection"). In order to protect the environment, do not let oils or diesel drain into the ground or empty them into drains.
- Please read about the guidance relating to the topics "Cleaning/Maintenance" and "Storage" in the operating instructions. All other measures, and opening the appliance in particular, must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Always contact our service centre in the case of repairs. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained appliances.

Operational start-up
Fitting the hoses
-
Remove the protective caps (7).
-
Unroll the suction hose (9) and the drain hose (11) and bend them straight.
-
Push the suction hose (ø 6 mm) (9) onto the suction hose connection (8).

- Slide the drain hose (ø 12 mm) (11) onto the drain hose connection (6).

- Attach both hoses (9, 11) with the supplied hose clamps (10).

Note the pumping direction → → of the appliance.

Ensure that the hoses (9, 11) are not bent or kinked to avoid damage.
Operation

Let the vehicle engine run for 5-10 minutes before pumping in order to warm up (oil temperature max. 60 °C). This reduces the viscosity of the oil and it can pump out better.

Turn off the car engine before you start pumping.
-
In the case of vehicles, feed the suction hose (ø 6 mm) (9) through the oil level test aperture. Gently slide the hose to the lowest point of the oil pan.
-
Insert the drain hose (ø 12 mm) (11) into a suitable container (e.g. oil collecting tray) to collect the used oil.
-
Make sure that the appliance is switched off (on/off switch (1) in position "○").
-
Connect the positive pole terminal (red) (4) to the positive pole (+) of the vehicle battery.
-
Connect the negative pole terminal (black) (5) to the negative pole (-) of the vehicle battery.
-
Switching on:
On/off switch (1) in position "I".
After a suction period the pump begins to extract.
- Switching off:
On/off switch (1) in position "O".
Turn the power off
- as soon as the oil ceases to be extracted, - or after a continuous running time of 30 minutes.
-
Clean the appliance after each use by pumping through some fresh oil.
-
Remove the terminals (4, 5) from the vehicle battery.

Never pump for longer than 30 minutes in continuous operation in order to prevent overheating and damage to the appliance. Turn off the appliance and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes between the run cycles.

Change the oil filter and replenish with fresh oil according to the instructions of your vehicle manufacturer.

Dispose of used oil in an environmentally-responsible way (see "Waste Disposal/Environmental Protection").
Cleaning/Maintenance
Clean and maintain your equipment regularly. This will guarantee its performance and long durability.

Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts. There is a risk of injury!

Do not clean the appliance under running water. There is a risk of electric shock and the appliance could be damaged.
