Frequently Asked Questions - Power-X-Boostcharger 6A EINHELL

Which batteries can I charge with the Power-X-Boostcharger 6A?
This charger is designed exclusively for 18 V Li-Ion batteries from the Power-X-Change and Power-X-Change Plus series by Einhell. Compatible capacities are: 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 Ah (Power-X-Change) and 2.6 / 5.2 Ah (Power-X-Change Plus). Do not use for other types of batteries.
How to activate Boost mode and why use it?
Press the Boost button (3) on the charger. The blue LED lights up to indicate Boost mode. This mode allows faster charging, ideal if the battery needs to be used immediately. To preserve the battery, use normal mode if you do not need an urgent recharge.
What does the flashing green LED mean?
The flashing green LED indicates that the charger is ready for use (connected to mains, no battery). When the battery is inserted, the red LED lights up during charging and the green goes off. Once charging is complete, the green LED is steady.
What to do if the red and green LEDs flash simultaneously?
This indicates an error: the battery is defective and can no longer be charged. Remove it from the charger and do not attempt to recharge it. Replace it with a new battery.
Can I leave the battery on the charger after charging?
Yes, the charger automatically switches to maintenance charging after full charge. It is recommended to leave the battery on the charger for about 15 extra minutes for optimal charge. However, for a long lifespan, do not leave the battery permanently connected.
The charger does not work, what to check?
First check that the mains socket is supplying power (220-240 V). Ensure the charging contacts are clean and the battery is correctly inserted. If the problem persists, contact customer service at: ISC GmbH, Eschenstraße 6, 94405 Landau/Isar, Germany.
How to mount the charger on the wall?
Use 3.5 mm cylinder head screws suitable for the wall. The mounting holes are located on the back of the charger. Maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm on each side of the wall and 100 cm from the ceiling for adequate ventilation.
Can I charge a hot or cold battery?
The charger detects extreme temperatures. If the battery is too hot (e.g., exposed to sunlight) or too cold (below 0 °C), the red and green LEDs light up steadily (thermal disturbance). Let the battery return to room temperature (approx. 20 °C) before recharging.
How to maintain the charger?
Always unplug the charger before cleaning. Clean it with a dry cloth. Do not use chemical products or water. No internal parts require maintenance; do not disassemble the unit. In case of damage, contact customer service.
How to dispose of the charger at end of life?
Do not dispose of the charger with household waste. In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EC, take it to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Used batteries must be disposed of in special containers.
