How to thread the upper thread?

Set the switch to 'O', raise the presser foot and the thread take-up lever. Follow the numbers on the machine: upper thread guide, bobbin guide, then the take-up lever, and finally the needle eye from front to back. Use the automatic needle threader if available.

How to bring up the bobbin thread?

Hold the upper thread, turn the handwheel towards you until the needle is fully raised. Pull the upper thread to bring up the bobbin thread through the needle plate. Place both threads under the presser foot.

What to do if the needle breaks?

Check that the needle is not bent or blunt. Use a needle suitable for the fabric and thread. Make sure the bobbin case is correctly threaded. Replace the needle if necessary.

How to adjust the thread tension?

The upper thread tension is adjusted with the dial: turn to a higher number to increase tension, to a lower number to reduce it. For the bobbin thread, test by suspending the bobbin case by the thread; it should slowly unwind 5 to 10 cm. Adjust with a small screwdriver if necessary.

How to clean and oil the machine?

Unplug the machine. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case. Clean the feed dogs and hook with the provided brush. Apply 1-2 drops of special sewing machine oil to the indicated places. Reassemble the parts.

Why does the machine make knots under the fabric?

This may be due to incorrect threading, improper tension, or an unsuitable needle. Check the upper and lower threading, reduce the upper thread tension, and use a needle suitable for the fabric and thread.

How to make a buttonhole?

Use the buttonhole foot (optional). Set the stitch selector to the buttonhole position. Sew one side, then the other. Use a stabilizer for thin fabrics. Cut the opening with the seam ripper without cutting the stitches.

What types of fabric can I sew?

The machine is suitable for light fabrics (silk, jersey) to heavy fabrics (denim, canvas). Use a suitable needle: 9-11 for light, 14 for medium, 16-18 for heavy. Adjust the upper thread tension to 2-3 for light fabrics.

What to do if the machine is jammed?

Unplug the machine. Remove the upper thread and the bobbin. Turn the handwheel gently back and forth to free the stuck thread. Clean the hook and oil according to the instructions.

How to change the bulb?

Unplug the machine. Loosen the screw on the cover, remove it, unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a 15 W bulb of the same type. Put the cover back and secure it.

When using an electrical appliance, the basics safety instruction should always be followed. Read all Operating Instructions before using this sewing machine.

DANGER -Toreducetheriskofelectricshock:

1. Thesewingmachines should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. Always removethe plug from the socket immediately after use as well as before cleaning and other maintenance.
3. Alwaysunplugthesewingmachinebeforereplacingthebulb. Replacethebulbwithoneof thesametypeandratedat15watts(220-240V).

WARNING -Toreducetheriskofburns,fire,electricshock,orinjurytopersons:

1. Donotallowthesewingmachinetobeusedasatoy. Closeattentionisnecessarywhenthe sewingmachineisusednearchildren.
2. Use the swing machine only forthosethings described in the Operating Instructions.
3. Donotusethesewingmachineifithasadamagedelectriccableorplug, ifitisnotworking properly or if water has penetrated into its interior. In these cases return the appliance to the nearest authorized dealer or service centre for examination.
4. Never operatethe appliance with any ventilation openings blocked. Keep the ventilation opening of these sewing machine and footped alfree from any accumulation of flint, dust, and loose cloth.
5. There is a risk of injury because of the upwards and downward movements of the needle when sewing. Always work with care and watch the area of work.
6. Alwaysusetheproperstitchplate. Thewrongplatecancausetheneedletobreak.
7. Donotusebentneedles.
8. Donotpullonthefabricwhilesewing. It may deflect the needle causing it to break.
9. Alwaysswitch thesewing machine off when making any adjustments in the needle area, such as threading or changing the needle, threading the bobbin, or changing the presser foot etc.
10. Always unplug these sewing machine from the electrical outlet before removing the cover, lubricating them machine or when undertaking any others servicing work described in the Operating Instructions.

If you want to sew on the arm bed, pull out the snap-in sewing table (7) in the direction of the arrow.

Whensewingthickfabrics, the passage of fabrics under the presser foot can be improved by raising the two-steppresser footlifter (18) further (arrow).

1. Install the presser footholder

Raisethepressorbar(A)byliftingthe two-steppresserfootlifter(18)Attach the presserfootholder(B)asillustrated.

2. Inserting the presser foot

Lowerthepresserfootbar(B)untilthe groove(C)isdirectlyabovethepin(D). Lowerthepresserfootbar(A)asfarasit willgo. The presserfoot(a)willengage automatically.

3.Removingthepresserfoot

Raisethepressorfoot. Pressthelever(E)gentlytowardsthe frontandthepresserfootdisengages.

4. Insertingtheedge/quiltguide(q).

Asshownintheillustrationcarefully inserttheedge/quiltguide(q)e.g.For hems,pleats,etc.

Windingthelowerthread

Placethespool(n)onthespoolpin(15) andholditinplacewithaspoolpincap(s).

-Smallspoolpincapforthinthreads -Largespoolpincapforthickthreads

Pullthethreadfromthespoolintothe threadguide, anduptothebobbin(2).

Pullthethreadfromtheinsidethrougha holeoftheemptybobbin(h).Placethe spoolonthespoolholder(14)andthen pushtotherightintothefillingposition.

Holdtheendofthethread.Pressthepedal(u).Releasethepedal(u)afterafewturns. Releasethethreadandcutascloseas possibletothespool.Pressthepedal(u) again.

Oncethespoolisfull, itrotatesmoreslowly. Releasethepedal(u).Replacethebobbin (h)intosewingpositionandremoveit.

Note:

If the bobbin winderspindle(14) is in the winding position, thesewing process is automatically interrupted. Tosew, push the bobbin winderspindle(14) to the left (sewing position).
