Frequently Asked Questions - 12230009 Exido

How do I assemble the slow juicer before first use?
Ensure the appliance is unplugged. Place the motor section on a flat surface. Place the bowl on the motor section, aligning holes and pins, and turn to lock. Insert the filter into the filter holder, then place into the bowl with arrows aligned. Insert the auger and press down until it engages. Insert the tamper into the hopper, then place the hopper on the bowl with arrows aligned. Turn the hopper clockwise to lock. Place the cap on the juice outlet if needed, and position containers under the outlets.
Can I juice frozen fruits or vegetables with this juicer?
No, never try to squeeze frozen fruit or vegetables as it may damage the appliance.
What fruits and vegetables are not suitable for juicing?
Fruits like bananas, mangoes, papayas, and avocados are not suitable as they produce mashed fruit instead of juice. Also, fruits with thick peels (e.g., oranges, lemons) must be peeled, and large stones (e.g., plum, apricot) must be removed.
How should I clean the juicer after use?
Unplug the appliance. Clean the filter under running water with a soft brush, ensuring holes are not blocked. All other parts except the motor base should be washed in warm water with mild detergent. The motor base should only be wiped with a damp cloth. None of the parts are dishwasher safe. Dry thoroughly before reassembling or storing.
What is the reverse function used for?
If the appliance struggles to process fruit pieces or becomes blocked, push the on/off button to the REVERSE position temporarily. This runs the auger backwards to clear the blockage. You can also use reverse to loosen the auger if it is difficult to remove.
Why does my apple juice turn brown quickly?
Pure apple juice turns brown when exposed to air. To prevent discolouration, serve immediately after juicing or add a little lemon juice.
Is it safe to use the juicer if the filter mesh is broken?
No, never use the appliance if the filter mesh is broken as it may cause personal injury.
Can I use the pulp from juicing for anything?
Yes, the pulp can be used as an ingredient in baked goods, added to meat sauces or meatballs for vitamins, or used as a topping (e.g., tomato pulp on bruschetta, cucumber in tzatziki).
What is the warranty coverage?
The warranty does not apply if instructions are not followed, the appliance has been interfered with, mishandled, or damaged due to faults in the electricity supply. For full details, refer to the manual or contact the retailer.
How should I dispose of the juicer when it is no longer usable?
This product must not be disposed of with ordinary household waste. It should be taken to a recycling station for electrical and electronic waste (WEEE). Contact your retailer or local authorities for proper disposal.

PREPARING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

• Always wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before juicing.
- It is not necessary to remove small seeds, pits or thin peels before using the appliance.
- Cut the fruit into small pieces so that they can get through the hopper.
- Fruits with thick peels such as or -anges and lemons must be peeled before juicing. It is particularly important to remove all the peel from citrus fruits (including the pith), as even small amounts of peel can impart an unpleasant taste to the juice.
- It is also necessary to remove large stones such as plum and apricot stones before juicing to avoid damaging the appliance.

JUICING

  1. Switch on the appliance by pushing the on/off button to the ON position.
  2. Feed the selected fruit and/or veg - etables into the appliance through the hopper a little at a time, pushing them down using the tamper.
  3. Long vegetables such as carrots should be fed into the hopper pointy end first.
  4. Press the fruits and/or vegetables gently with the hopper. Too much pressure reduces the amount of juice extracted and can damage the appliance.
  5. Stop the appliance before removing the tamper to add more fruit/vegetables in order to avoid to avoid splashes.

  6. The juice runs out through the round spout, while the fruit pulp comes out through the flat spout.

  7. If the appliance struggles to process the fruit or vegetable pieces or becomes blocked, you can run the auger backwards by pushing the on/off button to the REVERSE position temporarily.
  8. Turn off the appliance by pushing the on/off button to the OFF position when you have finished using it.
  9. Take the appliance apart. First remove the tamper and then the hopper, the auger, the filter, the filter holder and finally the bowl. If the auger is difficult to remove, you can push the on/off button to the RE-VERSE position a few times to loosen it.

TIP!

  • Only use fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Good candidates for juicing include pineapple, apples, cucumbers, celery, carrots, spinach, melons, tomatoes and most citrus fruits.
  • The various varieties of apple yield juice with different flavours and consistency. Experiment with different combinations to find your own favourite.
  • Leafy green vegetables such as cab - bage and spinach can also be juiced. Roll the leaves into cylinders of an appropriate size before feeding them into the hopper.
  • Fruits such as bananas, mangoes, papayas and avocados are not suitable for juicing, as the result is often mashed fruit instead of juice.

UK

  • All types of juice should be consumed right after juicing, as fresh juice quickly loses important nutrients as well as taste when exposed to the oxygen in the air.
  • Pure apple juice turns brown quickly when exposed to air. To prevent discolouration, serve apple juice immediately after juicing or add a little lemon juice.

RECIPES

The slow juicer can squeeze many different types of fruit and vegetables, offering many different juice options.

• Apple, carrot, ginger
- Carrot, pear, fresh chilli
- Beetroot, apple, celery
• Apple, cucumber, lemon

For optimal use of the slow juicer, it is advisable to look for information and inspiration regarding the various fruits and vegetables on the internet or the many books written about juice and its positive effects on the body.

  • The pulp is excellent as an ingredient in baked goods. Try using the pulp from vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli and fennel.
    • Get vitamins by adding vegetable pulp to meat sauces or meatballs.
  • Tomato pulp is an excellent topping on bruschetta.
