Frequently Asked Questions - Commo i-Size Caretero

What is the height range for the Caretero Commo i-Size?
The seat is designed for children with a height from 40 to 150 cm. It can be used rearward-facing from 40 to 105 cm and forward-facing from 76 to 150 cm.
Can I use the seat rearward-facing?
Yes, for children from 40 to 105 cm (approximately up to 15 months). The seat must be installed using ISOFIX and top tether, and the 5-point harness should be used. Do not use rearward-facing on a front seat with an active airbag.
What installation methods are available?
For rearward-facing (40-105 cm) and forward-facing harness mode (76-105 cm): ISOFIX + Top Tether. For forward-facing booster mode (100-150 cm): you can use either the vehicle 3-point belt only or the vehicle 3-point belt with ISOFIX connectors (no support leg). The seat does not use a support leg.
How do I install the seat using ISOFIX?
Attach the ISOFIX insert guides to your vehicle's ISOFIX anchor points. Extend the ISOFIX connectors on the seat, push them into the guides until they click. Ensure both ISOFIX buttons turn green. For forward-facing, also attach the top tether to the vehicle's top tether anchor point and tighten until the tension indicator is green.
When should I switch from rearward to forward-facing?
Switch to forward-facing when your child is at least 15 months old (as required by i-Size) and their height exceeds 76 cm. However, it is safest to keep your child rearward-facing for as long as possible up to 105 cm.
Can I use the seat without ISOFIX?
Yes, for forward-facing booster mode (100-150 cm), you can install the seat using only the vehicle 3-point belt. Follow the instructions for routing the diagonal and lap belt through the guides. The seat has been tested and approved for this use.
How do I clean the seat cover?
The cover is removable. Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle at max 30°C using mild detergent. Do not tumble dry, iron, or use bleach. Let it air dry. The plastic parts can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Is the seat compatible with my car?
The seat is suitable for vehicles with approved 3-point seat belts complying with ECE Regulation No. 16 or equivalent. It also requires ISOFIX anchor points and a top tether anchor for certain installations. Always check your vehicle manual and the seat's compatibility list. Some positions may not fit all vehicles; test the seat before use.
What is the top tether for?
The top tether is an additional strap that secures the top of the seat to a designated anchor point in your vehicle. It reduces forward movement in a crash. It must be used when installing with ISOFIX. The top tether on this model includes a quick release for convenience.
Can I use the side impact shield?
Yes, an optional side impact shield can be added for extra side protection. It should be installed on the side closest to the vehicle door. Insert it from the top into the slots on the upper belt guide until fully engaged. Note that when used, it may not fit in all approved vehicles.
