How do I install the Caretero Securo car seat using the seat belt?

For Group 1 (9-18 kg), thread the vehicle lap belt through the belt guides on the seat, ensuring no twists. For Group 2/3 (15-36 kg), remove the harness and use the vehicle's 3-point belt directly over the child, routing it through the red guides.

What is the weight and height limit for the Caretero Securo?

The seat is approved for children weighing 9 to 36 kg (approx. 1 to 12 years). Height limits: minimum 75 cm, maximum 150 cm. Always follow the weight and height limits on the seat label.

Can I use the Caretero Securo rear-facing?

No, the Securo is designed only for forward-facing use. For rear-facing, consider other models like the Caretero Rondo.

How do I clean the Caretero Securo cover?

Remove the cover by unbuttoning and unhooking it from the shell. Machine wash on gentle cycle at 30°C (86°F) with mild detergent. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron. Air dry only.

What is the expiration date of the Caretero Securo?

The seat expires 6 years from the date of manufacture, which is printed on a label under the seat. Do not use after expiration due to material degradation.

Can I replace the harness or buckle if damaged?

Yes, replacement parts are available. Contact Caretero customer service or an authorized dealer. Do not use the seat with a damaged harness or buckle.

Does the Caretero Securo have ISOFIX connectors?

Some versions include ISOFIX connectors for easier installation. Check your seat's label or manual. If present, the ISOFIX is optional and can be used together with the top tether.

How do I adjust the headrest on the Securo?

Push the seat towards the backrest so that it fits snugly. Shake the seat to make sure it is firmly attached.

Possible Top-tether attachment points:

The Top-tether belt will strengthen the stability of the seat while driving.

Not all car models have the ability to attach Top-tether (even those equipped with ISOFIX), please check the details in the vehicle manual.

To extend the Top-tether belt, use the button on the buckle and pull the belt.

Pass the belt through the guides on the back of the seat.

Mount the Top-tether where possible.

Make sure the belt is not tangled or twisted.

Tighten the belt to tighten it.

The green color on the buckle indicates correct tension.

Red indicates that the belt needs to be tightened or attached to another accessible point.

Place the child in the seat.

Adjust the height of the headrest by pulling or pressing on the headrest ring.

It cannot be too low or too high because it will not ensure full security.

To fasten the belts, connect the metal hooks and insert them together into the buckle.

Pull the strap to tighten it around the child.

Make sure there is space between the child's body and the straps to fit a hand. The straps must not be too loose or too tight.

ATTENTION:

For children of height:

40 - 75 cm - use both the reducing pad (A) and the hip pad (B)

76 - 80 cm - reducer insert (A) must be used

To extend the Top-Tether, press the button on the drawstring and pull the belt. Attach the Top-Tether hook at the desired point, making sure it is not twisted or tangled. Pull the belt tight. Green color on the indicator indicates the correct hook. If the indicator is red, tighten the seat belt tighter.

Make sure the seat is mounted stably. Press the 5-point belt loosening button while pulling the shoulder parts of the belts. Press the red button on the seat belt buckle to unfasten it. Open the belts to the sides and place the child in the seat. Adjust the headrest height.

Make sure the headrest fits your child correctly. Incorrect adjustment is dangerous, the headrest cannot be too low or too high behind the child's head. Connect the clasps of the shoulder straps together and place them in the buckle to fasten the belt. Pull the belt to tighten it on your child. Make sure there is space between the child's body and the belts to accommodate a hand. The belts cannot be too loose or too tight.

ATTENTION!

Children with a height of 76-80 cm should use a reducing cushion.

Unfasten the 5-point seat belts. Lift the flap on the inside of the seat. Press the 5-point belt tension button and pull the shoulder parts of the belts. Unfasten another flap inside the seat and hide the seat belts there. Place the buckle into the seat opening.

WARNING! For the safety of the person installing the car seat:

• The shoulder belt pads are important in keeping the child safe. Please use them at all times.
• While installing or uninstalling the seat no object may be able to slide between the car seat and the child seat base. It could trap the person's fingers.
• In ordered to avoid damage, take care not to jam the seat between solid elements of the car (doors, seat guides etc.).
• Store the car seat in a safe place when not in use. Avoid putting heavy objects on the seat and do not store near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

WARNING! For the safety of the car:

- Some car seat covers are made of delicate fabrics (velour, leather etc.) and may become worn-out due to the child seat use. In order to protect the upholstery, we recommend using car seat covers available as accessories.

DANGER! For the safety of your child:

• Please use the Caretero Securo seat only to secure your child in the car.
• The seat is to be installed forward-facing with a 3-point car safety belt or with a 3-point car safety belts and ISOFIX anchors only.
• It is forbidden to use the car seat as a chair or a toy.
• During a car crash at speed higher than 10km / h the car seat may become damaged without clear visual marks. In such case the car seat should be scrapped and replaced with a new one.

- Please remember to recycle the seat properly when it won't be used anymore.

- Commission a full check of the car seat after a possible damaging (eg. when the seat falls to the ground).

- Regularly check all vital elements of the car seat for signs of damage. Make sure all mechanical parts of the seat are functioning properly.

- It is forbidden to lubricate any parts of the seat.

- Check if the car seat is installed properly before each trip.

- Do not use or transport the car seat when it is not properly installed in the car.

- Do not use other fixing points other than those described in this manual and marked on the car seat itself.

- Regularly check the seat belts, especially the fixing points, stitchings and adjustment devices.

- Never leave the child in the car seat unattended.

- Make sure that the child enters and exits the car on the sidewalk side of the street.

- Protect the car seat against sunlight while it's not in use.

- The car seat may become very hot while under direct sunlight. The child's skin is very delicate and may become easily damaged during contact with a hot car seat.

- The closer the car seat belts are to the child's body, the higher the safety level. Therefore do not put thick clothes on the child.

- Make regular stops during longer trips, so the child may play and rest after removing it from the car seat.

- When using the car seat in the rear passenger seats: slide the front passenger seat to the front, so the child will not reach the backrest with its feet (this will prevent from damaging the legs during an accident).

- Not complying with these instruction may cause danger.

DANGER! For the safety of car passengers.

In case of an accident or emergency braking, persons or objects that are not secured properly, may damage other users of the car. Therefore it is important to ensure the following:

• The backrests of the seats are fixed (make sure the foldable rear seat backrests have been locked properly).
• All heavy objects or objects with sharp edges have been secured (eg. objects on the rear window shelf are not loose).
• All persons in the car have fastened their seat belts.
  • The child seat is always secured, even when there is no child in the seat.

In case of any modifications done to the car seat, the warranty will become void. Only the manufacturer may apply any changes to the car seat.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Remember to ONLY use the original upholstery for the Caretero Securo seat, as it is an integral part of the seat and plays an important role in its proper functioning.

The upholstery may be removed for washing (hand wash or machine wash - delicate fabrics programme, max 30°C).

Do not tumble dry. Use only mild detergents.

Plastic parts of the seat may be cleaned with a damp cloth with addition of soap.

Never use strong detergenst such as bleaches etc.

Never iron the upholstery.
