How do I adjust the slice thickness on my Zelmer Alicja ZFS1017?

Turn the thickness adjustment knob (7) clockwise for thicker slices (up to 15 mm) and counter-clockwise for thinner slices. The thickness guide (9) helps you set the desired thickness.

Can I slice frozen food with this meat slicer?

No. The Alicja ZFS1017 is designed for soft foods only. Do not cut frozen foods, bones, or other hard items as this may damage the blade or motor.

How long can I use the slicer continuously?

You can use it for up to 3 minutes continuously. After that, it must rest for 10 minutes. After 5 such cycles, it needs a half-hour rest. This helps prevent motor damage.

How do I clean the blade safely?

First, unplug the slicer. Rotate the blade lock (10) clockwise to unlock, then remove the blade (8) carefully (it is very sharp). Clean the blade with a damp cloth, dry it, and reattach by aligning notches with the small gear (11) and turning the lock counter-clockwise.

Is the Zelmer Alicja ZFS1017 dishwasher safe?

No. Never immerse any part of the slicer in water or the dishwasher. Clean it by wiping with a damp cloth or paper towel. Dry all parts thoroughly before storage.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

From time to time check the cord for damages. Never used the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage.

Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

All repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician.

Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.

Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.

Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Mark sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

Mark sure the appliance is set on a flat surface. Unplug the appliance when not in use.

Only use this slicer for cooking applications. Only cut articles such as cheese, meat, bread and preparations. Never cut frozen food with this slicer.

Never cut food only by using your hands, always use the slide and its food guide unless it is impossible because of the size of the article. Make sure never to touch the knife. This kind of appliance cannot function continuously; it is not a professional type of appliance. It is necessary to make temporary stops.

The blade of the appliance is extremely sharp, always be careful when cleaning the appliance.

It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food.

Never touch the blade when the appliance is in use. Furthermore, never try to stop the movement of the blade in any way whatsoever.

Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.

This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical,

sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

BEFORE USE

Clean all parts that come into contact with food before using the appliance before the first time (or after prolonged storage).

USE

IMPORTANT: After 3 minutes of continuous use it needs to rest for 10 minutes. After 5 cycles, it needs to rest for half an hour.

NOTE: Only use this appliance to cut soft foods. Do not use to cut frozen foods, bones or other solid food types.

Place the appliance on a flat and dry surface. The person using the appliance should operate the buttons with the left hand and the food pusher with the right hand.

Plug the appliance into the mains.

To unfold the slicer, pull the base (2) from the body (1) and place it on a dry and stable surface with good grip.

Insert the sliding platform (3) into the base (2).

Select the required slice thickness from 0-15mm. Turn the thickness adjustment knob

(7) clockwise for thicker slices or counter-clockwise for thinner slices.

Place the food to be sliced on the sliding platform (3), and press it lightly against the thickness guide (9) using the food pusher (4).

Press and hold the safety button (6), and press the on/off button (5). The blade starts rotating.

Move the sliding platform back and forth to slice the food. Always keep your right hand's fingers to the right of the food pusher.

BLADE CLEANING OR BLADE REPLACEMENT in ZFS1017 Model

Note: Only the ZFS1017 model features 2 replaceable blades.

Keep extreme caution when removing or replacing the blade; it is very sharp!

Ensure that the slicer is TURNED OFF and DISCONNECTED from the power source. Rotate the blade lock (10) clockwise to unlock it. Remove the blade (8).

To reattach the blade (8), align the notches on the blade with the holes in the small gear (11) located inside the device, as shown in the diagram (3). Once the blade (8) is properly placed in the small gear (11), rotate the blade lock (10) anti-clockwise to lock it in the ready-to-use position.

By following these instructions, you can safely remove the blade for cleaning or replacement.

TIPS

To slice meats wafer thin, chill thoroughly for 2-4 hours in freezer before slicing.

When slicing warm boneless roasts, remove from oven and let set 15 to 20 minutes before slicing. Cold cuts keep longer and retain flavor if sliced as needed.

Foods with an uneven texture-like fish and thin steaks- are often difficult to slice. Partially freeze before slicing.

The appliance can also slice e.g. carrots or potatoes in thin slices for chips.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance.

Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a paper towel or a soft cloth. It should not be washed in a dishwasher.

Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.

Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

The blade can be taken off by turning the blade-locking knob like it is said on diagram 3.

Caution: the blade is very sharp. After having cleaned the blade, turn the knob anti-clockwise to lock the blade.

Dry all parts well before storage.

USE OF WARRANTY

Customers must contact a B&B TRENDS, S.L. authorised Technical Service for repair of the product. Since any tampering of the same by anyone not authorised by B&B TRENDS, S.L., or the careless or improper use of the same shall render this warranty null and void. The warranty must be fully completed and delivered along with the receipt or delivery docket for the effective exercise of rights under this warranty.

This warranty should be retained by the user as well as the invoice, receipt or the delivery docket to facilitate the exercise of these rights.
