Important safety instructions
Connect the vacuum cleaner only to a 230 V mains supply equipped with a 16 A fuse.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord.
Do not operate the appliance if the cord, the housing or the handle is visibly damaged. In such a case, return the appliance to a service center.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
The appliance can only be repaired by qualified service personnel. Improper servicing may cause a serious hazard to the user. In case of defects please contact a qualified service center.
Do not run the vacuum cleaner or the brushes over the cord, it may cause damage to the cord insulation.
always unplug the appliance before cleaning, assembling or dismantling.
Turn off the device and unplug it from an outlet before replacing the equipment or approaching moving parts during use.
- Do not vacuum without the dust bag and the filters or if they are damaged.

Attach only the ZELMER electrobrush to vacuum cleaners equipped with the electrobrush socket.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Preparing the vacuum cleaner for operation

① Pull the end of the suction hose into the opening and press lightly.
② Attach the other end of the hose (the handle) to the suction tube. In order to do this, press the lock A in the
telescopic suction tube and put the tube in the handle, so the lock A is fastened in hole B.
③ Join both segments of the suction tube together.
④ In case of the telescopic suction tube adjust the necessary tube length by moving the slider according to the slide in/slide out direction arrow.
⑤ Assemble the appropriate nozzle or brush to the other end of the suction tube.
⑥ To clean hard surfaces – wooden floors, plastic floors, ceramic tiles etc. pull out the brush by pressing the switch on the combination brush according to the figure 📂
⑦ The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an accessory compartment. In order to open it pull the compartment cover (10) up.
⑧ The accessories may be attached to the accessory holder in the suction hose handle. This way they will be available for use at any time (type 450.0 EK, 450.0 SP, 450.0 ST).
⑨ Pull the plug and cord (6) out of the vacuum cleaner.
ATTENTION! While pulling out the cord, pay attention to the yellow stripe which signals the end of the cord. Further attempts (pulling on cord) may result in damaging the cord.
⑩ Plug in the appliance.
Before operation make sure that the SAFBAG bag is installed in the vacuum cleaner chamber and that inlet filter and the outlet filter is installed in the appliance.
⑪ Switch on the vacuum cleaner by pressing the "on/off" button (2).
⑫ The vacuum cleaner is equipped with electronic power regulator allowing a stepless regulation of vacuum cleaner power. The power regulation is performed with a slider. Moving the slider according to its mark (max or min) will increase or reduce the suction power.
Filter disassembly
Before changing the filters make sure that the vacuum cleaner is switched off and unplugged from the mains supply.
INLET FILTER

① Release the catch of front cover (8) and open it.
② Remove the inlet filter (15) out of the housing.
③ Replace it with a new one, paying attention that the outer edge of the filter is placed inside the safety rib.
④ Close the front cover of the vacuum cleaner.
ATTENTION! The damaged inlet filter should be replaced with a new, genuine manufactured product only.
ATTENTION! It is advised to replace the inlet filter every 4 replacements of the SAFBAG dust bag, or even more often, if necessary.
OUTLET FILTER

The vacuum cleaners are equipped with an outlet filter ACF Microfilter or H11 Class HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter depending on the type of the vacuum cleaner. The HEPA filter is a high-quality filter produced from special fibers which are able to stop almost all dust particles. The H11 Class indicates the permeability of the filter. The H11 HEPA filter stops 95.5% of particles as small as 0.3 micron.
① In order to replace the outlet filter, open the accessory compartment.
② Press firmy the blocking mechanism of the outlet filter cover and remove the cover out of the vacuum cleaner.
③ Remove the outlet filter cassette, replace the used cassette with new one. The HEPA filter assure circa 1 year of effective usage.
④ Place the outlet filter cover back on in such a way that the three cogs on the lower side of the cover fit into the holes in the vacuum cleaner housing. Next press the filter cover until the blocking mechanism closes hut. If you do it right, you will hear a characteristic "click" sound.

SAFBAG dust bag disassembly/assembly

① The vacuum cleaner is equipped with safety valve located in chamber of dust container (bag). It opens automatically in case of total stopping of suction hose or total stopping of equipment elements connected thereto, as well as in case of overfill of dust bag. After opening the valve one can hear characteristic "whirr" sound inside the vacuum cleaner.
② Switch off the vacuum cleaner by pressing the on/off button (2).
③ Unplug the appliance.
④ Pull the end of the hose out of the inlet opening of the vacuum cleaner.
⑤ Release the front cover fastening (8) and open the cover.
⑥ Put the vacuum cleaner in a vertical position (it is easier to open and put it on its back wheels, while its second half leans over the front part of the dust container).
⑦ While holding the bag plate, pull it aside towards the inside of the dust container, and then pull the bag up.
⑧ Close the SAFBAG bag cap, as to close the full bag Throw it out.
⑨ Place the plate in the new bag before the sliders and slide it in along with the screen right down to the bottom of the container. Unfold the bag. The direction is shown by an arrow placed on the bag.
⑩ Close the cover until you hear the characteristic clicking sound – be careful not to catch the bag.
ATTENTION! Do not start cleaning without an installed SAFBAG bag.
ZELMER vacuum cleaners are equipped with SAFBAG dust bags in the amount indicated in the table. It is recommended to replace the dust bag if:
a) the safety valve activates,
b) the vacuum cleaner operates poorly,
c) the dust bag is full.
Special accessories
The following special accessories may be purchased in retail outlets:
Zelmer turbobrush (21)
May be used with all types of ZELMER vacuum cleaners. Is used for an effective vacuuming of carpets and fitted carpets. While using the turbobrush follow the instruction manual.
The use of the turbobrush decidedly increases the effectiveness of removing fibrous dirt such as: animal hair, hair, threads etc. It is practically useful in households with pets (cats, dogs), where removing the animal hair from the carpets and floorings is very onerous.
Zelmer electrobrush (22)
Only the electrobrush manufactured by ZELMER may be used with ZELMER vacuum cleaners. Using other brands of electrobrushes may cause damage to the vacuum cleaner. The electrobrush may be used with all ZELMER vacuum cleaners equipped with the appropriate electrobrush socket. While using the electrobrush follow the instruction manual. The electrobrush is especially helpful in cleaning worn out carpets. Before vacuuming remove all larger elements from the floor such as: remains of cloth, paper etc. in order to prevent blocking of the whirling element of the brush.
End of operation cleaning and maintenance

① Switch off the vacuum cleaner by pressing the "on/off" button (2).
② Unplug the appliance.
③ Wind the cord by pressing the cord rewind button (4). While doing this hold the cord to make sure it is not tangled and the plug does not hit the vacuum cleaner housing.
④ Disconnect the suction tube from the suction nozzle or brush.
⑤ Disconnect the suction tube from the hose. In order to remove the telescopic tube from the hose handle, simultaneously press the lock A and pull the tube in the direction indicated by the arrow.
⑥ Pull the end of the hose out of the inlet opening of the vacuum cleaner.
⑦ The vacuum cleaner may be stored vertically or horizontally. In order to do so, insert the fastening hook of the combination brush to the combination brush fastener. The hose may be attached to the vacuum cleaner, however you have to make sure that it is not excessively bent during storing.
⑧ If necessary wipe the housing and the dust bag container with a damp cloth (it may be soaked with dishwashing liquid) and dry it or wipe until dry.
Do not use abrasive detergents or solvents.
Examples of problems while operating the vacuum cleaner

Ecology – Environmental protection
Each user can contribute to protect the environment. It is neither difficult nor expensive. In order to do so:
Return cardboard packages to recycling points.
Throw polyethylene (PE) bags into appropriate containers.
Return a worn out appliance to an appropriate collecting point as the components of the appliance may pose a threat to the environment.
