How do I attach or detach accessories?

To attach, push the accessory onto the air outlet until it clicks. To detach, press the release button (2) and pull off. Always switch off the appliance before changing accessories.

What do the different modes mean?

The slider (4) has four positions: 0 off, 1 low speed and low temperature, 2 high speed and high temperature, and the uppermost cold shot for cool air to set your style.

How do I use the cold shot function?

After styling, slide the button (4) to the uppermost cold shot position. Direct cool air onto your hair to lock in the style.

How should I clean the curling brush?

Always unplug and let it cool. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Can I use the curling brush on wet hair?

It is best to use on damp hair. If hair is wet, dry it until damp first. If dry, gently dampen it before styling.

What safety precautions should I follow?

Do not use near water, bathtub, or pool. Never immerse in water. Keep away from heat-sensitive areas. Unplug after use. Do not leave unattended while on.

How do I retract the bristles on the round brush?

Turn the ring at the top of the attachment clockwise to extend bristles, anticlockwise to retract them. This makes it easier to remove the brush from hair.

What attachments are included with the Zelmer 33Z033?

The set includes a concentrator, a styling brush, and a round brush with retractable bristles.

Can children use this appliance?

Children aged 8 years and above can use it under supervision. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning should be done by children only if aged 8+ and supervised.

What should I do if the cord is damaged?

If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service center, or a qualified person to avoid hazards. Do not use the appliance.

In order to achieve best possible results we recommend using exclusively original Zelmer accessories. They have been specially designed for this product.

Please read these instructions carefully. Pay special attention to important safety instructions. Keep this User's Guide for future reference.

Important safety instructions

The following information concerns your health and safety. Please read the instructions for use and important safety instructions completely before using the curling brush.

Injury risk! Do not touch hot surfaces of the appliance. –

Do not leave a switched on appliance unattended. Fire risk. –

• Do not place the curling brush on wet surfaces or clothing while it is operating.
  Always make sure that the air inlets and outlets are not blocked. -
• Do not immense the curling brush, cord or plug into water. Never put away the curling brush downwards so that it can fall into water while it is operating.
  — Do not place or store the appliance in a place where it can fall into water or be splashed with it.
  Do not use while bathing. –
  The curling brush should only be used to dry hair. -
  — Make sure the accessories are dry on the inside and outside before attaching them to the curling brush.
  — If the curling brush is damaged while operating unplug it immediately and return it to a service center.
• Never try to remove lint or foreign bodies from the inside of the curling brush using sharp objects (e.g. a comb).
• Never drop or insert any objects into the openings of the curling brush
• Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Store free of hair, etc.
  – Never use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• If the appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water while the unit is plugged in. Do not use a curling brush that has fallen into water.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the

hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised.

- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

- Check the cord regularly. The insulation cannot be damaged or broken.

If the non-detachable part of the cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the producer or at a proper service point or by a qualified person in order to avoid any hazards.

The appliance can only be repaired by qualified service personnel. Improper servicing may cause a serious hazard to the user. In case of defects please contact a qualified service center.

Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

- The curling brush becomes hot during operation. Do not place it near flammable materials.

Allow the curling brush to cool before putting it away. -

— Do not direct hot air toward eyes, hands or other heat-sensitive areas.

Do not use while sleeping.

Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug grasp the plug. -

- Risks exist even if the curling brush is switched off. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.

- Do not wrap the cord around the appliance (risk of breaking the cord).

- Do not cover the curling brush as it might cause heat accumulating inside of it.

– Attachments may be hot during and after use. Allow them to cool before handling.

– Do not use attachments that are not recommended.

– Use the appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual.

NOTE: For additional protection, it is advisable to install a residual current device (RCD) in the bathroom's electrical circuit with the rated amperage not exceeding 30 mA. In order to do so please contact a qualified electrician.

Safety tips

This curling brush set is specially designed to style and dry hair. For best results read all the instructions below.

- For best results use on damp hair. If your hair is wet, dry it until damp. If your hair is dry, gently damp it.

-Comb hair before styling.

- Avoid excessive hair drying, as your hair will lose its natural moisture, break and become rough.

— After styling your hair, set the airflow speed and temperature button to cold shot and cool hair to set your hairstyle.

- Attachments become hot during use. Switch off the appliance before attaching and detaching accessories.

How to use

Attaching accessories

In order to attach the accessory to the brush fix it to the air outlet and press. In order to detach the accessory, press the release button (2) and remove the accessory from the brush. Always switch off the appliance before changing accessories.

Operation

Plug in the appliance. The curling brush has three airflow speed and temperature modes (4):

0 Off mode.
1 Low speed and low temperature mode.
2 High speed and high temperature mode.
High speed and low temperature mode.

To start styling set the switch (4) in the desired position.

Using attachments

1. Concentrator

Use the concentrator while using the curling brush for drying hair. Thanks to this attachment the airflow is concentrated and the hair is dried faster. We recommend to start drying hair using the second airflow speed and temperature mode and after a while to change the mode into the first one. To set your hairstyle switch to cold shot (4), sliding the button to the uppermost position.

1. Styling brush

The styling brush is used to smooth hair or style it in waves. The brush adds volume at the roots of the hair. If you want to curl your hair, wrap a strand of hair around the brush. Set the button (4) to the "1" or "2" position. Dry hair. Then you can change the setting to cold shot in order to set your hairstyle.

1. Round brush with retractable bristles.

The round brush with retractable bristles is used to style curls. Turn the ring in the upper part of the attachment clockwise to extend the bristles. To retract the bristles, turn the ring anticlockwise. If you want to curl your hair, wrap a strand of hair around the brush. Switch on the appliance by setting the button to the "1" or "2" position. Dry hair. Then you can change the setting to cold shot in order to set your hairstyle.

Cleaning and maintenance

The curling brush is intended for household use only. —

• Always switch off the curling brush by sliding the button (4) to the 0 position and unplug the appliance.
• The housing can be wiped with a damp cloth, however it needs to be wiped dry afterwards.
• Do not use abrasive detergents such as emulsions, cream cleaners, polishes, etc. to clean the external elements. They may remove the graphic information symbols such as: scales, marks, warning signs etc.

Storage

Unplug the appliance when not in use. —

• After use allow the curling brush to cool and store out of reach of children in a dry and cool place.
• Never wrap the cord around the appliance, as this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle the cord carefully to ensure its long efficiency. Avoid jerking, twisting or straining, especially while unplugging. If the cord becomes twisted during use, straighten it periodically.

Ecology – Environment protection

Each user can protect the natural environment. It is neither difficult nor expensive.

In order to do it: put the cardboard packing into recycling paper container; put the polyethylene (PE) bags into container for plastic. When worn out, dispose the appliance to particular disposal centre, because of the dangerous elements of this appliance, which can be hazardous for natural environment.

Do not dispose into the domestic waste disposal!!!
