Instructions for use
Note
- Bear in mind that factors such as the size of the room, the outside temperature and how well the building is insulated, all affect the ability of the heater to warm the room up. If the room is too large the ability of the heater to warm it up to the desired temperature may be insufficient.
-
The fan heater must be standing upright on a level surface to ensure that the tip-over switch doesn't trip.
-
Place the fan heater on a firm, level surface capable of supporting its weight.
- Plug the heater into a wall socket.
- Turn the thermostat knob (1) to the maximum setting.
- Set the switch [1/0] (5) on the rear of the fan heater to I to switch the fan heater on, the indicator light (2) will come on.
- When the desired ambient temperature has been reached, slowly turn the thermostat knob back until it clicks and the fan heater switches off. Leave the thermostat knob in that position.
- The fan heater will maintain the set temperature by automatically switching on and off.
- The temperature can be adjusted by turning the thermostat knob:
- clockwise to raise the temperature
- anticlockwise to lower the temperature.
- Set the [1/0] switch to 0 to switch the fan heater off, the indicator light will go out.
Overheating protection
The fan heater is fitted with an overheating safety cut-off protection device which switches the fan heater off if it overheats.
To reset the overheating protection device:
- Set the [1/0] switch to 0.
- Unplug the fan heater from the wall socket and let it cool for 5–10 minutes.
- Then plug the heater back into a wall socket. The heater should now work normally.
Tip-over switch
- The fan heater is fitted with a tip-over switch (6) safety cut-off protection device which switches the fan heater off if it falls over or is not vertical.
- The fan heater will start working again once it has been returned to the upright position on a level surface.
Care and maintenance
- Turn off the fan heater, unplug it and let in cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Dampen the cloth with a little water if required, do not use detergent, solvent or corrosive chemicals.
- Get into the habit of vacuum cleaning the air inlet and outlet (3 and 4) of the fan heater regularly.
- The fan heater should be stored indoors when it is not in use.
Troubleshooting guide
| The fan heater does not start. | Make sure that the fan heater is standing upright and that it is placed on a level surface, otherwise the tip-over switch might have been triggered. Is the power switch set to I?Has the thermostat turned off the fan heater?Turn the thermostat knob clockwiseIs the mains lead intact and properly plugged into the wall socket? Is the wall socket live? The overheating protection has tripped. Reset as instructed in the Overheating protection section. |
| The fan heater starts but stops after a short time. | The thermostat is set to a lower temperature than the current room temperature. Check the thermostat setting. |
