Frequently Asked Questions - Fino Osann

How do I install the Fino car seat in group 0+ (rear-facing)?
Place the seat rear-facing on the vehicle seat, adjust to maximum recline (blue position). Thread the vehicle's three-point belt through the pelvic belt guides and the diagonal belt through the red guide on the head support. Buckle the vehicle belt and tighten. Ensure the child is secured with the five-point harness.
What is the weight limit for using the five-point harness?
The five-point harness can only be used for children up to 18 kg (groups 0+ and 1). For children weighing 15–36 kg (groups 2/3), the harness must be removed and the child is secured with the vehicle's three-point belt.
Can I use the Fino car seat on the front passenger seat?
Rear-facing installation (group 0+) on the front seat is allowed only if the airbag can be deactivated. Forward-facing installation (groups 1–3) on the front seat is permitted, but the rear seat is recommended. Always consult your vehicle manual.
How do I adjust the harness height?
Loosen the harness completely. Unlock the shoulder belt frame from the back of the seat, remove the belts, then rethread them through the slots at the desired height. The belts should be at or just below the child's shoulders for rear-facing, and at or above the shoulders for forward-facing.
How do I adjust the head support?
Loosen the harness, then pull the lever on the head support to slide it up or down to the desired height. Release the lever and confirm it locks in place. The head support must be adjusted so that the diagonal belt guide is positioned correctly.
What should I do if the seat is exposed to a severe impact?
The child car seat must be replaced after a heavy impact during an accident, even if no visible damage is apparent. Safety cannot be guaranteed after such an event.
Can I wash the seat cover?
Yes, the cover is removable and washable. Wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean. Tumble dry on low temperature. Always check the care label inside the cover.
Is the Fino compatible with all vehicles?
The seat is a universal child restraint approved under ECE R44/04. It is compatible with most vehicles that have three-point seatbelts approved to ECE R16 or equivalent. However, check your vehicle manual for compatibility with child restraints.
How do I remove the five-point harness for group 2/3 use?
Unlock the shoulder belt frame from the back of the seat, remove the belts and buckle by threading them through the slots. Press the belt length adjustment button and pull the adjusting strap fully. Keep all removed parts for future use (if needed for a smaller child).
What should I do if the harness straps are twisted?
Ensure straps are not twisted before fastening your child. If twisted, loosen the belts and untwist them manually. Always check that the straps lie flat against your child's body after tightening.

REINIGUNG

Thank you for choosing our Fino child car seat. If you require assistance with this product, please contact our customer service team.

USE

  • This product is suitable for children in the ECE group 0+/1/2/3. Weight range: 0-36 kg. Age range: 0-12 years.
  • Group 0+ is for children who weigh 0-13 kg. The child car seat is installed in the car with the three-point belt. The child is fastened in using the five-point belt of the child car seat.
  • Group 1 is for children who weigh 9-18 kg. The child car seat faces forwards and is secured in the car using a three-point belt. The child is fastened in using the five-point belt of the child car seat.
  • Groups 2 and 3 are suitable for children who weigh 15-36 kg. The five-point belt system on the child car seat is removed. The child car seat faces forwards and the child is fastened in with the car's three-point seat belt.
  • We recommend installing the child car seat on the rear seat of the vehicle. Do NOT attach the child car seat for rear-facing use in ECE group 0+ to the front seat. It may be used on the front seat if the airbag there can be deactivated. Consult the vehicle manual for information on this.
  • This child car seat is only suitable for vehicles that feature three-point safety belts in accordance with ECE R16 or other equivalent standards.

WARNING

  • This child car seat is a universal child restraining system. It has been tested according to the most stringent approval criteria and has been approved under Regulation No 44/04.
  • It is therefore suitable for general use in vehicles and is compatible with the majority of vehicle seats.
  • It is more likely that the seat is compatible if the vehicle manufacturer states that its vehicles are suitable for use with universal child restraining systems.
  • The child car seat may only be used in vehicles fitted with three-point safety belts which are either permanently installed or have a roller mechanism and are additionally approved according to UN/ECE No. 16 or other equivalent standards.

If you have any doubts, please contact the child car seat manufacturer or the retailer.

WARNING

  • Please read through the instructions carefully before use and retain them for subsequent reference in order to guarantee the safety of your child. Non-compliance with the instructions in this manual may result in serious injuries to your child.
  • The child seat can only be used with its own five-point belt system for children who weigh under 18 kg (group 0+ and group 1).
  • The child seat MUST NOT be used with its own five-point belt system for children who weigh over 18 kg (group 2/3).
  • Do not install the seat in a forward-facing direction if the child weighs less than 9 kg.
  • Do not use any supporting contact points other than those that are described in the instructions and are marked on the child restraining system.
  • Do not use this child seat at home. It has not been designed for use at home and should therefore only be used in your car.
  • Do not leave your child unsupervised in the seat at any time.
  • Do not place the rear-facing child seat on front seats with an airbag. This may lead to death or serious injuries.
  • The child seat should be replaced if it is exposed to heavy impact during an accident.
  • For safety reasons, the child seat must also be affixed in the vehicle when your child is not sitting in the child seat.
  • Always make sure that all belts that hold the seat holder to the vehicle are secure and that all belts that restrain the child are adjusted to the child's body. Please also ensure that the belts are not twisted.
  • Items of luggage or other objects that could cause injury in the event of a collision must be properly secured.
  • The rigid items and plastic parts of a child restraining system must be placed and installed so that they cannot get caught by a movable seat or a vehicle door during everyday use.
  • It is important that low-lying belts hold the pelvis firmly in place. Your child should always be fastened in to stop them falling out.
  • It is dangerous to make changes or additions to the product without approval from the responsible authority. Non-compliance with the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer of the child restraining system is also associated with risks.
  • This child seat has been designed for newborns and children weighing up to 36 kg. Never overload the child seat by transporting more than one child or additional loads in it.
  • The child restraining system must not be used without the seat cover.
  • The seat cover must not be replaced by a cover other than that recommended by the manufacturer as the seat cover is an important component of the restraint performance.
