Installing Batteries
You can power the recorder using 2 pcs AAA battery (not included). For the best performance and longest life, we recommend using alkaline batteries.
Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Open the battery compartment cover by sliding it.
- Insert batteries in the compartment as indicated by polarity symbols (+ & -) inside.
- Close the cover.
Cautions:
- Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.
- Do not mix used and new batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
- Never leave dead or weak batteries in the recorder. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage the recorder's electronic parts.
- If you do not plan to use the recorder for several days, remove the batteries.
Using an Earphone
For private listening, plug the earphone into the recorder's phone jack. This will automatically disconnect the recorder's internal speaker.
Listening Safely
To protect your listening, follow these guidelines when you use earphone.
- Set the volume to the lowest setting before you commence listening. When you are listening the message, adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
- Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss.
- Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing.
Using an External Microphone
To record using an optional external microphone, plug the microphone into the MIC jack on top of the recorder. This automatically disconnects the built-in microphone.
