Any use other than that described above is prohibited and will result in product damage. It is further associated with dangers, e.g. short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc.

Damage due to failure to comply with these operating instructions will invalidate the guarantee! We assume no liability for consequential damage! We assume no liability for material damage or personal injury due to improper handling or failure to comply with the safety instructions!

■ Always keep children away from the product.

This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Children cannot recognise the risks that arise through use of the product.

This appliance may be used by children age 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the associated risks. Children should not be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

■ Make sure that the product is only assembled by competent persons.

CAUTION! RISK OF OVERHEATING! Do not operate the light chain inside the packaging.

■ Store the fairy lights in the packaging after use to prevent accidental damage.

Do not pull on the light set lead and always ensure others cannot walk or trip on it.

Do not attach objects to the product.

The product must be assembled and used in a way which prevents large amounts of dirt.

■ Never modify or convert any of the product.

The converter/transformer corresponds with Protection Class II. Do not connect the converter/transformer to the earth conductor.

The lamp corresponds to Protection Class III, thus uses a completely safe voltage range.

Do not operate near gas- or electric heaters, open fire, candles, or other heat sources.

- Keep the fairy lights away from flammable materials and objects!

In the event of damage of any type, particularly to the housing (tightness!), which no longer allows the fairy lights to be operated safely, immediately disconnect the transformer and connecting cable from the mains, put the fairy lights out of serve, and secure from being used again!

When using the fairy lights outdoors with an extension cable, the extension cable must be suitable for outdoor use.

Route the connecting cable and any extension cable so people cannot trip over it or accidentally pull on it.

Please keep the packaging, as it contains important information.

WARNING! Please note, packaging materials are not a toy and must therefore be kept out of the reach of children.

Do not hang any objects from the fairy lights.

■ Unplug the transformer and fairy lights from the socket when not using the fairy lights for extended periods.

■ Always pull on the transformer, never the connecting cable.

■ Never cover the fairy lights with other objects.

The flexible connecting cable of these fairy lights is not replaceable or repairable. If the cable is damaged, the fairy lights must be disposed of.

The LED lamps are not replaceable.

■ Never attempt to install a disconnected light bulb in a E27 socket.

■ Attention! This product is made from glass and fragile!

■ Never remove light bulbs and install them in mains voltage sockets.

Be sure not to damage the transformer and the connecting cable. Discontinue use if the fairy lights are damaged.

- Check the fairy lights for damage before every use.

■ ATTENTION! The transformer supplies the fairy lights with safety extra-low voltage. Never connect the fairy lights directly to the mains without using the transformer. Always discon-

nect the transformer and connecting cable from the socket when installing.

Avoid the risk of fatal injury from electric shock

Before use, ensure that the available mains voltage is the same as the voltage required for operating the appliance (230-240 V\~).
Before connecting the light set to the mains, always check it and the mains adapter for any damage.
■ Never use the light set if you discover that it is damaged in any way.
Never open any of the components of the electrical equipment or insert any objects into the same components.
■ Protect the mains lead from sharp edges, mechanical stress and hot surfaces.
Do not secure with sharp staples or nails.
■ Always unplug the mains adapter from the socket before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
■ Never touch the plug of the fairy lights or the fairy lights itself with wet hands.
■ Never electrically connect the fairy lights to other fairy lights.
■ Disconnect the fairy lights from the mains when they are not being used for extended periods.

Only use the fairy lights with the included mains adapter. Otherwise any warranty claims will be void.
These fairy lights are splash-proof (IP44). This protection class will only be maintained, if the electrical socket used also complies with at least this protection class.

CAUTION! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!

These fairy lights are rain- and splash-proof (IP44), but do not near water or other liquids, or in locations where water and other liquids may collect. Do not immerse the fairy lights in water. Maintain a minimum distance of

approx. five metres from swimming pools or ponds. Protect the transformer from moisture.

Never wear metallic or conductive jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. when performing any work, including cleaning!

- Start-up

Assembly

Plug the plug of the fairy lights into the socket of the mains adapter 2.
Turn the connecting thread of the mains lead clockwise to fix the connection.

- Switching on and off

Switching on:

Plug the mains adapter into the socket. The fairy lights are on.

Switching off:

☐ Unplug the mains adapter from the socket to switch the fairy lights off.

● Maintenance and Cleaning

CAUTION! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! First of all pull the mains adapter out of the mains socket.

For reasons of electrical safety the device must never be cleaned with water or other liquids or immersed in water.

Do not use solvents, benzene or similar substances. They could damage the light.
☐ Only use a dry, lint-free cloth for cleaning.

●Disposal

The package and packaging materials consist entirely of environmentally friendly materials. They can be disposed of at your local recycling facility.

The symbol of the wheelie bin with the line through it means that, in the European Union, the product has to be disposed

of in a separate refuse collection. This applies to the product and to all components bearing this symbol. Do not dispose of products bearing this symbol in your normal household waste, but instead they must be taken for recycling to a collection site for electrical and electronic appliances. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and protects the environment.

- Information

Warranty

You receive a 36 month warranty on this product, valid from the date of purchase. The appliance has been carefully produced under strict quality control. Within the warranty period we shall rectify without charge all material and manufacturing defects. In the event of a defect arising during the warranty period, please send the device to the listed Service Centre address, making reference to the following article number: 3208-100L. Wear parts (such as bulbs) and damage caused by improper handling, non-observance of the operating instructions or unauthorised interference are excluded from the warranty. The performance of services under the warranty does not extend or renew the warranty period.

Declaration of conformity CE

This product fulfils the requirements of the applicable European and national directives (Electromagnetic Compatibility 2004/108/EC, Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC, Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU). Conformity has been demonstrated. The relevant declarations and documents are held by the manufacturer.
