Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 275169 SILVERCREST

How do I use the waffle maker for the first time?
Before first use, remove all packaging and clean the baking surfaces with a damp cloth. Then heat the empty appliance for about 15 minutes with the lid closed to evaporate any manufacturing residues. Let it cool, clean again, and discard the first batch of waffles.
How do I clean the waffle maker?
Always unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Wipe the inside and outside with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild detergent if necessary, but rinse with clean water to avoid aftertaste. Never immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.
What should I do if the control lights do not work?
Ensure the appliance is properly plugged into a working earthed socket. If the red light does not illuminate, check the power cord for damage. If the green light never turns on, the heating element may be faulty. Contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer.
Can I use metal utensils with this waffle maker?
No, only use utensils made of wood or heat-resistant plastic. Metal utensils can damage the non-stick coating.
What types of waffle recipes can I use?
The manual includes recipes for Belgian waffles, chocolate waffles, and whole grain waffles. You can also use any standard waffle batter. The animal shapes require about 1-2 tablespoons of batter per waffle.
How do I store the waffle maker?
After cleaning and cooling, wind the power cord around the cable reel on the base and secure the plug in the cable clip. Store in a dry, clean place away from heat sources.
Is the waffle maker safe for birds?
The non-stick coating may release fumes harmful to birds. Keep birds out of the room when using this appliance.
What is the warranty period?
The waffle maker comes with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase covering material and manufacturing faults. Keep the original receipt as proof of purchase.
Can I use an extension cord?
Extension cords should be avoided. If necessary, use a cord suitable for the appliance's power rating, do not lay it as a trip hazard, and do not connect other appliances to the same socket.
How do I know when the waffle is ready?
The green control light turns off and on during baking to regulate temperature. After about 3.5 minutes, open the lid carefully (hot steam!) and check if the waffle is golden brown. Adjust time to preference.
