Frequently Asked Questions - DU 667 G BOMANN

What are the minimum safety distances for installation?
For electric hobs, maintain a distance of 45-55 cm between the hob and the bottom of the hood. For gas hobs, the distance must be at least 65 cm. If the gas cooker's instructions specify a greater distance, follow that.
How do I clean the aluminum grease filter?
Remove the filter by sliding back the lock and pulling it out. Clean it monthly in hot water with a mild detergent, or in a dishwasher at up to 60°C. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinstalling.
How often should I replace the activated carbon filter?
Replace the activated carbon filter at least every six months, regardless of use. Order the correct model (KF 561, set of 2) from your dealer or online.
What should I do if the hood does not work?
Check that the unit is connected to mains power and the fuse is working. Verify that a fan speed is selected. If the plug is loose, insert it properly. If the problem persists, contact an authorized technician.
How do I replace the LED lighting?
Allow the lamps to cool. Use a suitable tool to carefully remove the lamp. Disconnect the connecting cable, change the lamp, reconnect, and press it into the socket until it clicks. Use only self-shielded 2 x 0.5W LED lamps.
Can I use the hood without a carbon filter in recirculation mode?
No. The carbon filter is essential in recirculation mode to absorb odours. The hood cannot operate effectively without it. Ensure the carbon filter is correctly installed.
How do I switch between fan speeds?
Use the pushbuttons on the control panel. There are three settings: low (for low flame or no steam), medium (for normal cooking), and high (for large amounts of smoke or steam).
What is the correct way to install the telescopic duct?
After mounting the hood body, attach the suspension and mounting rails. Fix the outer (lower) duct with the mounting rail, place it onto the hood, then slide the inner (upper) duct into it. For extraction mode, connect a flexible extraction hose (∅150 mm) before securing the duct.
Why is the hood not extracting efficiently?
Check that the correct fan speed is set. Ensure the aluminum grease filter is clean. In recirculation mode, verify the carbon filter is clean and correctly installed. For extraction mode, make sure the air outlet is not blocked.
What should I do if oil is dripping from the hood?
Oil dripping usually indicates a dirty grease filter. Clean the aluminum grease filter immediately according to the cleaning instructions to prevent fire hazard.
