Frequently Asked Questions - DU 623.2 BOMANN

How do I install the Bomann DU 623.2 range hood?
Installation should be carried out by a qualified technician. Ensure the hood is mounted at least 65 cm above the cooking surface. Use the provided template to mark screw positions, drill holes, and secure the hood with the included screws. Connect the ducting for external exhaust or install a carbon filter for recirculation.
How often should I clean the grease filter?
The aluminum mesh grease filter should be cleaned at least once a month, or more frequently if you cook heavily. Remove the filter and wash it in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher at low temperature. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
Can I use the hood without a carbon filter?
Yes, if the hood is connected to an external duct, the carbon filter is not needed. However, if you use the recirculation mode, a carbon filter (sold separately) is required to absorb odors.
How do I replace the LED light bulb?
First, disconnect the power. Remove the lamp cover by prying it gently with a flat screwdriver. Pull out the defective LED bulb and insert a new one of the same type (2 W, 12 V). Reattach the cover and restore power.
What is the noise level of this range hood?
The noise level at maximum speed is approximately 55 dB, which is comparable to a quiet conversation. At lower speeds, it is even quieter.
Does the DU 623.2 come with a remote control?
No, the DU 623.2 does not include a remote control. It is operated via a slider or push buttons on the front panel.
What are the dimensions of the hood?
The width is 60 cm, depth is 50 cm, and height without the chimney is 10 cm. The overall installed height with chimney varies based on ceiling height.
How do I switch between ducting and recirculation mode?
For ducting mode, connect the exhaust outlet to an external duct. For recirculation, install a carbon filter inside the hood and ensure the air outlet is directed back into the room through the top grille.
What should I do if the hood stops working suddenly?
Check if the power cord is plugged in and the circuit breaker is on. If it still doesn't work, the overheat protection may have activated. Let the motor cool down for 30 minutes then try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
Can I wash the carbon filter?
No, carbon filters are not washable. They should be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. Replace when the filter is saturated and odors become noticeable.

⚠ WARNING:WARNING:

  • The extracted air may not be vented into a flue which is used for the waste gas from appliances which are powered by gas or other fuels.
  • When venting the extracted air, comply with the regulations of the relevant local authorities.

The hood has an upper air outlet to vent cooking odours to the outside.

  • The extracted air is normally vented vertically. If there is a suitable loft space above your kitchen, the extracted air is vented through the wall units and the loft floor to the roof ridge.
  • If there is a conduit in your kitchen under the wall units the extraction duct can be routed so that the extracted air can be vented horizontally through the wall.

Recirculation mode Recirculation mode

If you do not have a direct extraction vent to the outside; the hood can also work in recirculation mode (i.e. without an extraction vent to the out side; the filtered air is released back into the room). In this case, an activated carbon filter mat as de scribed under "Installing the activated carbon filter mat for recirculation mode", must be used.

The activated carbon filter mat is not supplied. You can order the carbon filter mat from your dealer or in our online accessories shop, www.bomann.de. To order, use the reference number found under "Technical Data".
