NÁVOD K OBSLUZE

I. BEZPEČNOSTNÍ UPOZORNĚNÍ

  • Before the first use, read the instructions for use carefully, look at the picture and store the instructions for use for the future. Consider the instructions for use as a part of the appliance and pass them on to any other user of the appliance.
  • Check whether the data on the type label correspond with the voltage in your electric power socket.
  • Never use the appliance if its power cord or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly, if it fell down and was damaged. In this case take the appliance to a special electric service to check its safety and proper function.
  • The appliance is intended for use in households only and for similar use!
  • The appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) whose physical, sensual or mental inability or lack of experience and knowledge makes safe use of the appliance impossible, if they are not supervised or if they have not been instructed regarding the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they will not be playing with the appliance.
  • Do not put the suction hole of the vacuum cleaner or the accessories close to your eyes and ears and do not insert them into any body orifices!
  • Never immerse the charger, the battery and the motor part of the vacuum cleaner into water (even partially) and protect them against humidity!
  • Install the holder, the vacuum cleaner and the appliance within sufficient distance from flammable objects (e.g. curtains, drapes, wood, etc.), heat sources (e.g. oven, stove, etc.) and wet surfaces (e.g. sinks, wash-basins etc.).
  • Make sure that the power cord of the charger does not hang freely over the edge of a working table where children could reach it.
  • Plug the battery adapter to a socket with alternate current only.
  • To charge the battery of the vacuum cleaner, use only the proper charger and do not use it for charging other appliances.
  • Use the charger in a room only.
  • Before cleaning the charger, unplug it from the electric socket.
  • Always switch off the vacuum cleaner when charging the battery.
  • When the battery is charged, the charger may be warm, which is a normal condition.
  • Charge the battery at standard room temperature.
  • Leaking of electrolyte from the battery is caused by overloading the vacuum cleaner or by using the vacuum cleaner at extremely hot temperature. If you are splashed with electrolyte, wash the affected place with water and soap and rinse it with lemon juice with vinegar. In the case of eye contamination, rinse the affected eye for a couple of minutes with clean water and seek medical advice immediately.
  • Do not throw the battery into fire. There is a risk of explosion!

GB

- Do not connect the contacts of the battery or of the adapter! If you do not use the battery, keep it away from metal objects, such as paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can cause short circuit of the battery connectors. Short circuit of the battery connectors can cause burns or fire.

  • Never leave the product unattended when in operation!
  • When you vacuum staircase, never leave the vacuum cleaner higher than you stand yourself
  • Before you start using the vacuum cleaner, please check that all the blocking mechanisms are in the right position.
  • Never vacuum without a properly inserted filter protector and filters!
  • Never use (switch on) the vacuum cleaner if it is placed in the holder and it is being charged!
  • The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for vacuuming substances that can harm human health.
  • Do not vacuum sharp objects (e.g. glass, shatter), hot, flammable, explosive objects (e.g. ash, hot cigarette butts, gasoline, thinners, aerosol vapours) or greases (e.g. fats, oils). Vacuuming these objects may lead to damage of the filters or the vacuum cleaner.
  • When vacuuming some kinds of carpets, upholstery fabrics, etc., electrostatic discharge may occur which is not dangerous for the user.
  • Pores of the micro-filter may be clogged when vacuum cleaning very fine dust (e.g. fine sand, cement dust, plaster). Thus, air permeability will be reduced and the suction performance will drop. In this case, micro-filters have to be cleaned even if the container is not full.
  • Do not insert fingers or other things to input and output vents of the appliance. If the openings/elements for air flow are clogged (e.g. the accessories), turn the appliance off and remove the clogging.
  • If you need to use an extension cord, it has to be uncorrupted and it has to comply with the valid safety standards.
  • If the power cord of the charger is corrupted, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician or a similarly qualified person so as to prevent dangerous situations.

III. VACUUM CLEANER PREPARATION

Remove all the packing material, take out the vacuum cleaner and the accessories.

Assembling holder (i.e. charging base)

Insert support G to holder F by slight pushing to the maximum position (you will hear a snapping sound). To remove the support from the holder you have to push lock button F1 and then to pull the support out (Fig. 2). Insert charger connector H to socket G1 in the support by slight pushing (Fig. 3). Lead the battery charger cable through the groove in the holder.

Assembling extension adapter

Straighten the handle of extension adapter C to the maximum working position (you will hear a snapping sound). For tilting the handle you have to push lock button C3 (Fig. 4). Slide floor nozzle D slightly to extension adapter C to the maximum position (you will hear a snapping sound). After taking the nozzle from the adapter you have to push lock button C2 and then to pull the nozzle out (Fig. 5).

Fixing vacuum cleaner into adapter

Put vacuum cleaner A to adapter C with the suction vent and they tilt the vacuum cleaner to the aperture to the maximum position (you will hear a snapping sound). After taking the vacuum cleaner from the adapter you have to push lock button A5 and then to pull the vacuum cleaner out (Fig. 6).

Eta 043990000 - Fixing vacuum cleaner into adapter - 1

Crevice/upholstery nozzle, brush

When connecting and disconnecting the accessories, follow the procedure in

Fig. 7. Slide the selected adapter to the hole in dust container B to the maximum position. Remove the adapter in the opposite direction (Fig. 8).

Battery charging

Before the first use, the battery has to be charged for at least 14 to 16 hours. Plug battery charger H to the electric socket. Fix the vacuum cleaner to the adapter and put the whole set to the holder (i.e. charging base), (Fig. 9). Battery charging is signaled by "red" control light H1. When the battery is fully charged, the control light turns "green". After about 12 hours, the battery is usually fully charged and it enables operation for about 18 to 20 minutes.

CAUTION

  • If you charge the battery for the first time or after long storage, about 60 % of its total capacity is charged. After repeated discharge and repeated recharge the battery is charged to 100 %.
  • After completing hard work or in hot environment, the battery may be too hot for charging. Let the battery cool down before charging.
  • For ensuring longer life of the battery we recommend full discharge and then full recharge of the battery four times a year.

IV. USING THE VACUUM CLEANER

According to the selected cleaning activity, use either the vacuum cleaner alone and select the corresponding accessories (E, E1, E2) or assemble the vacuum cleaner with an extension adapter and select accessory D.

The floor nozzle with a rotation brush D is intended for vacuuming carpets with low pile or smooth flooring (Fig. 10). You can use crevice nozzle E2 for vacuuming places that are hard to access (Fig. 11). Upholstery nozzle E or the upholstery nozzle with the brush E1 on can be used to clean various types of furniture (Fig. 12).

You can switch the vacuum cleaner on and off by switch A1 or by switch C1 if you use the vacuum cleaner in the extension adapter (Fig. 13). When control light A2 is on, it signals that the vacuum cleaner is in operation. Let the vacuum cleaner recharge as soon as its suction performance gets weaker. After work, insert the vacuuming unit back to the holder so that it can be recharged automatically. In the case of everyday use, do not disconnect the battery charger from the electric socket. In this way the appliance will always be fully loaded. Battery overcharging is not possible. If you are not present for longer time (more than one day), remove the charger from the electric socket to save energy.

CAUTION

  • The floor nozzle with the rotation brush is not intended for vacuuming impurities from carpets with high pile.
  • The nozzle is equipped with a safety fuse that disconnects the nozzle charging if the brush is overloaded or blocked. If the safety fuse is activated, switch off the vacuum cleaner and wait for about 3 - 5 minutes. Then you can switch on the vacuum cleaner again.

Emptying dust container

Eta 043990000 - Emptying dust container - 1

If you find out that the suction performance of the vacuum cleaner is reduced, make sure that the dust container is not full and if necessary, empty it. Release locking of container B by pressing button A3 and remove it from the vacuum cleaner by tilting (Fig. 14). Pull out HEPA-filter B1 and filter protector B2 from the container (Fig. 15), then place the container over a dustbin and empty it into common municipal waste (Fig. 16). For sanitary reasons we recommend emptying the container outside housing premises.

Cleaning dust container and cleaning filter

After the container has been emptied about 5 times we recommend complete cleaning of the suction system from the settled dust. Clean all parts (i.e. the container, the HEPA filter, the filter protector=cyclone unit can be cleaned by tilting off the lid) in running lukewarm water (e.g. using a cloth or a fine brush) and let it dry completely (Fig. 17, 18).

Reassemble individual parts in the opposite direction after it is completely dry.

CAUTION

  • The maximum suction effect will be reached with a clean filter and an empty container.
  • Do not use any aggressive washing or cleaning agents or hot water to clean the filter.
  • The filter is not intended for washing in a dishwasher.
  • The dust container is not resistant to cleaning in a dishwasher.
  • Cleaning the filter will not restore its original colour, but it will restore its filtration properties.
  • Neglecting filter cleaning may lead to breakdown of the vacuum cleaner!
  • Make sure that the contact surfaces and sealing elements are functional.
  • We recommend replacing the filter twice a year or when it cannot be cleaned properly or if it is damaged. You can buy a replacement filter in the elektro shop chain.

Storing accessories

Put the accessories (E, E1, E2) to the holder F (Fig. 19). Store battery charger H at a safe, dry and dust-free place inside a house, keep it out of reach of children and incapacitated people.

V. MAINTENANCE

Unplug the battery charger or the automatic cable from the appliance before any maintenance. Store the vacuum cleaner at a dry place, far enough from heat sources (e.g. fireplace, stove, heating element) and protect it against weather conditions (e.g. rain, sunshine). Treat the surface of the vacuum cleaner and the battery charger (only when disconnected from the electric socket) with a soft and wet cloth, do not use abrasive and aggressive cleaning agents! Never dry plastic moldings over a heat source (e.g. heater, electric/gas stove).

Floor nozzle

After every vacuuming it is recommended to check the brushes or collectors for possible impurities visually. If you find some impurities, remove them in the way specified below. Turn the screw in the lower part of the nozzle in the direction of the symbol "☐", then remove the fastening clamp (Fig. 20). Now you can remove the brush from its position and clean it. Insert the brush to the nozzle in the opposite direction and secure it properly.
