Frequently Asked Questions - Beno Eta

How do I assemble the vacuum cleaner?
Connect the hose to the suction vent until it clicks. Attach the telescopic tube to the hose handle. Then attach desired nozzle (floor, crevice, etc.) to the tube. Adjust tube length by pressing the lock pin and sliding.
How do I replace the dust filter?
Press the lid lock to open the lid. Lift the filter lock and remove the old dust filter. Insert a new filter by sliding the front part into the holder until it clicks. Close the lid; it will lock only if filter is properly inserted.
When should I replace the micro-filters?
Replace the suction micro-filter and exhaust micro-filter after about 5 dust filter changes. To replace, open the respective compartments and pull out the old filter, then insert a new one.
Why does the vacuum cleaner have reduced suction?
Possible causes: dust filter full, micro-filters clogged, suction control set to minimum, or nozzle/hose/tube blocked. Check and clean or replace filters, set control to maximum, and clear blockages.
How do I use the floor nozzle on hard floors?
If the floor nozzle has a retractable brush, pull it out by switching the flap when vacuuming hard floors to avoid scratching. For carpets, retract the brush.
What does the full filter indicator mean?
When the colored field is permanently displayed on the indicator with the floor nozzle lifted at maximum suction, the dust filter must be replaced. Ignore changes during vacuuming.
How do I store the vacuum cleaner?
Store the vacuum cleaner at a dry place away from heat sources. You can disassemble accessories or leave them attached and hang them on the back or bottom of the vacuum cleaner. Set floor nozzle to carpet position to protect bristles.
Can I vacuum wet surfaces?
No. Do not vacuum wet or moist floor coverings. Moisture can damage the aggregate and voids warranty. Use only for dry vacuuming.
How do I wind the power cord?
Press the cord rewinding button. Hold the plug to prevent lashing. If the cord is twisted, straighten it first. If it doesn't retract fully, pull out about 50 cm and press the button again.
What should I avoid vacuuming?
Avoid sharp objects, hot ashes, flammable items, grease, and fine dust like cement or plaster. These can damage filters or the vacuum cleaner. Also do not insert body parts or objects into openings.

NÁVOD K OBSLUZE

I. BEZPEČNOSTNÍ UPOZORNĚNÍ

- Before the first use, read the instructions for use carefully, look at the picture and store the instructions for use for the future.

- Check whether the data on the type label correspond with the voltage in your electric power socket.

- The appliance is intended for use in households only and for similar use!

- The appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) whose physical, sensual or mental inability or lack of experience and knowledge makes safe use of the appliance impossible, if they are not supervised or if they have not been instructed regarding the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they will not be playing with the appliance.

- Do not put the suction nozzle or the tube end or accessories close to eyes and ears and do not insert them into body orifices!

- Never use the vacuum cleaner with wet hands or feet!

- When you vacuum a staircase, never leave the vacuum cleaner higher than you stand yourself!

- Never leave the product unattended when in operation!

- Never immerse the vacuum cleaner into water (even its parts)!

- Never vacuum without a properly inserted filtration system and micro-filters.

- Before you start using the vacuum cleaner, please check that all the blocking mechanisms are in the right position.

- Do not vacuum wet or moist floor coverings, do not use the vacuum cleaner for outdoor areas! When moisture gets into the aggregate, there is a risk of its damage and disabling it. This defect is not covered by the warranty.

- Vacuum cleaning of some carpet types may result in generating static electricity. No static electricity discharge is dangerous to health.

- Do not vacuum sharp objects (e.g. glass, shatter), hot, flammable, explosive items (e.g. ash, hot cigarette butts, gasoline, thinners and aerosol vapours) or greases (e.g. fats, oils), caustic agents (e.g. acids, solvents). Vacuuming these objects may lead to damage of the dust filters, or the vacuum cleaner.

- Do not insert fingers or other things to input and output vents of the appliance. If the openings/elements for air flow are clogged (e.g. the hose), turn the appliance off and clear the clogging.

- The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for vacuuming substances that can harm the human health.

- Pores of the dust filter may be clogged when vacuum cleaning very fine dust (e.g. fine sand, cement dust, plaster). Thus, air permeability will be reduced and the suction performance will drop. In this case the dust filter + micro-filters must be changed, even if the dust filter is not full yet.

- Always switch off the vacuum cleaner first and unplug the power cord from power supply and only then replace the dust filter and the micro-filters, clean the vacuum cleaner or its accessories.

Eta Beno - BEZPEČNOSTNÍ UPOZORNĚNÍ - 1

- The power cord is marked with colour codes. The yellow strip indicates the ideal cord length, the red strip indicates the maximum cord length. Do not apply force to unwind the cord beyond the red mark.

  • Do not run over the power supply cord when using the vacuum cleaner and do not unplug it from the socket by pulling the power cord.
  • When winding the cord, hold the plug to prevent the cord from lashing around, causing possible injury.
  • If you need to use the extension cord, it has to be uncorrupted and it has to comply with the valid standards.
  • If the power cord of the appliance is corrupted, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician or a similarly qualified person so as to prevent dangerous situations.
  • In order to ensure safety and proper function of the appliance, use only the original spare parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer.
  • Never use the appliance for any other purpose than for the intended purpose described in these instructions for use!
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by improper use of the appliance and the accessories and its guarantee for the appliance does not apply in situations when the safety warnings above are not complied with. Failure to replace or maintain all filters regularly according to the instructions in Chapter IV. USING VACUUM CLEANER and also using non-original filters, the properties of which resulted in failure or damage of the vacuum cleaner is also understood to be improper use of the appliance.

Eta Beno - BEZPEČNOSTNÍ UPOZORNĚNÍ - 2

After finishing work, switch off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the power supply. By switching button A4 with the symbol " 🔊" (Fig. 10) the power cord will be wound automatically. The vacuum cleaner can be held and carried by handle A5.

Full dust filter signaling

If the coloured field is displayed permanently on the indicator A10 (Fig. 12) while the floor nozzle is lifted above the cleaned surface at the maximum suction power, the dust filter must be replaced. Disregard changes on the indicator during vacuuming.

Eta Beno - Full dust filter signaling - 1

Dust filter replacement

GB Lift the lid of the vacuum cleaner A2 (Fig. 13) by pushing the lock A11. Lift the filter lock A15 and remove the dust filter A12 from the guide ribs (Fig. 14) and dispose of it with common municipal waste. Slide the front part of the dust filter (in the direction of the arrow) to the holder in the suction space of the vacuum cleaner and push to the maximum position. Check proper fastening of the carton front by slight pulling of the dust filter. Close the lid of the vacuum cleaner by snapping it.

Replacing micro-filters

After filling about 5 dust filters, micro-filters must be replaced with new ones. Dispose of the used dust filter and the micro-filters with common municipal waste. You can buy replacement filters and micro-filters in electro store chain.

Suction micro-filter

Lift the grate with the micro-filter A13 and then remove it by pulling it upwards (Fig. 15). Insert the grate with a new micro-filter by the opposite movement to the suction space of the vacuum cleaner to the maximum position and fasten it by snapping.

Exhaust micro-filter

Push the lock in the upper part of the exhaust cover A8, then lift off the cover and remove it from the vacuum cleaner (Fig. 16). Pull out the micro-filter A7. Put in the new micro-filter back to the vacuum cleaner in the opposite direction. Insert the lugs on the back cover into two holes in the vacuum cleaner cover and click the cover shut.

CAUTION

  • Micro-filters are not designed for washing.
  • The safety lock does not allow closing of the lid of the vacuum cleaner if you forget to insert a new dust filter.
  • Failure to replace micro-filters may lead to defect of the vacuum cleaner!
  • Take care that the binding surfaces and sealing elements are functional.
  • You can buy a replacement dust filter and micro-filters in the elektro shop chain.

Storing accessories

The accessories, the floor nozzle, the suction tubes and the hose can be dismantled again or left assembled and hung on the back side or on the bottom of the vacuum cleaner A9 into the storage position. For better stability, slide the individual parts of the tube inside each other so that the tube is as short as possible. When storing, always set the floor nozzle to the carpet position (i.e. with the brush retracted); thus you will prevent bending of the bristles.

V. MAINTENANCE

Store the vacuum cleaner at a dry place, far enough from heat sources (e.g. fireplace, stove, heating element) and protect it against weather conditions (e.g. rain, sunshine).

Treat the appliance surface with a soft damp cloth, do not use coarse and aggressive detergents! For failure-free operation of the vacuum cleaner we recommend checking the aggregate and the general condition of the vacuum cleaner in a specialized service centre

after 300 hours of operation, but not later than in 3 years. Store the appliance properly cleaned at a dry, dust-free place out of reach of children and incapacitated people.
