The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by improper use.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE KEEP IN A SAFE PLACE

Safe Usage Practices for the 20V Paint Gun Operating with a Removable Battery.

Information

  • Read the instructions carefully. Familiarise yourself with the controls and the correct use of the machine.
  • Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may limit the age of the operator.
    • Remember that the user is responsible for any accident or danger to other people or their property.

Work Area Safety

  • Keep the work area clean and well lit. Messy or dark areas are accident prone.
  • Do not use power tools in an explosive atmosphere, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electric tools produce sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away when using the power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the tool.

Personal Safety

  • Stay alert, look at what you are doing and use common sense when operating the tool. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines. A moment of inattention while using a power tool can result in serious injury.
  • Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, helmets or hearing protection used in the right conditions will reduce personal injury.
  • Avoid untimely starting. Ensure that the switch is in the off position before connecting, picking up or carrying the power tool. Carrying tools with a finger on the switch or plugging in tools with the switch in the on position is a source of accidents.
  • Don't rush. Always maintain an appropriate position and balance. This allows better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
  • Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can become entangled in moving parts.

Use and maintenance

  • Do not force the tool. Use the right power tool for the job. The right power tool will do the job better and safer at the speed for which it was designed.
  • Do not use the power tool if the switch does not allow you to switch from on to off and vice versa. Any power tool that cannot be controlled by the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
  • Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making adjustments, changing accessories or storing the power tool. These preventative safety measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
  • Keep stationary power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow anyone unfamiliar with the tool or these instructions to operate it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of inexperienced users.

  • Observe the maintenance of the tool. Check for misalignment or jamming of moving parts, broken parts or any other condition that may affect the operation of the tool. If the tool is damaged, have it repaired before using it. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

  • Use the power tool, accessories, blades, etc. in accordance with these instructions. Take into account the working conditions and the work to be done. Using the power tool for purposes other than those intended can lead to dangerous situations.

Using and handling a battery-powered tool

  • Only charge batteries using chargers recommended by the manufacturer. A charger that is compatible with certain types of batteries may cause a fire if used with other batteries.
    • Use tools only with specifically designed battery packs. Use of other battery packs may cause injury or fire.
  • Keep unused batteries away from staples, coins, keys, nails, screws and other metal objects that may short circuit the contacts. A short circuit between the battery contacts may cause burns or fire.
  • The battery may leak if used improperly. Avoid contact with this liquid. If accidental contact occurs, wash with water. If the liquid comes into contact with the eyes, consult a doctor. Liquid leaking from batteries may cause skin irritation or burns.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAINT GUNS

  • Keep your work area clean, well-lit, and free of paint cans or solvent cans, rags, and other combustible materials. There is a risk of self-ignition. Keep functional fire extinguishers/extinguishing devices available at all times.
  • Make sure that the spraying area is well ventilated and that there is enough fresh air throughout the room. Flammable solvents that evaporate create an explosive environment.
  • Do not spray or clean with materials with a flame point below 21°C. Use water-based, low-volatile hydrocarbon, or similar materials. Volatile solvents that evaporate create an explosive environment.
  • Do not spray near sources of ignition such as static sparks, open flames, ignition flames, very hot objects, engines, cigarettes, or sparks when plugging in and disconnecting electrical cables or operating switches. Such sources of sparks can cause ignition of the immediate environment.
  • Do not spray materials that you do not know if they are dangerous. Unknown materials can create hazardous conditions.
  • When spraying or handling chemicals, wear additional personal protective equipment such as matching protective gloves and a protective mask or respiratory protection mask. Wearing protective equipment that is appropriate for the corresponding conditions reduces exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Pay attention to the risks emanating from the sprayed product. Please note the markings on the container or the information of the manufacturer of the product to be sprayed, including the request to use personal protective clothing. The manufacturer's instructions must be followed to reduce the risk of fire and injury from toxic, carcinogenic substances, etc.
  • The spray gun should not be used to spray combustible substances. Spray guns should not be cleaned with combustible solvents.

WARNING

Consider the hazards that may be posed by the sprayed product and observe the markings on the containers or the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the product.

6. OPERATION

VISCOSITY

The unit allows you to spray products with a viscosity of up to 80 DIN/sec. The viscosity is determined in a simple measuring procedure using the viscosity cup supplied.

  • Fill the supplied viscosity cup to the brim with the spray product.
  • Then, hold the viscosity cup up and measure the time in seconds until the liquid is drained. This time is called "DIN seconds (DIN/sec)".
  • If the value is too high, gradually add the appropriate solvent to the spray in small quantities and mix.
  • Measure the DIN seconds again. Repeat until you reach a viscosity of less than 80 DIN/sec.

NOTE

  • Do not exceed the maximum viscosity of the equipment. The product to be sprayed must not be too viscous for spraying. Otherwise it may clog the equipment.
  • Ensure that the spray product and thinner are compatible. If an unsuitable thinner is used, lumps may form and clog the gun. Never mix synthetic resin paints with nitro thinners.
    • Refer to the manufacturer's instructions on the product to be sprayed for the correct dilution (water, thinner).
  • Do not spray granular/particulate products. Their abrasive effect reduces the life of the equipment.

USE

PREPARE THE SURFACE

  • Cover the area around the spray surface widely and thoroughly. Otherwise, all unprotected surfaces risk being soiled.
    • Make sure the spray surface is clean, dry, and free of grease.
  • Sand smooth surfaces and then remove sanding dust.

OPERATION

  • Loosen the coupling nut.
    • Turn the protruding parts of the nozzle head
  • Select a spray pattern. 2 functions to spray by adjusting the spray pattern are horizontal or vertical.

  • The trigger control can adjust the paint flow from minimum to maximum according to the user's needs.
    • Test the paint flow rate before you start.
    • Always hold the spray gun at a constant distance from the object. The ideal spray distance is 15 cm.
  • Press the trigger and start spraying the surface evenly in slow, steady movements.
  • Remove the battery from the tool before cleaning. Rinse the container and wipe gently with a soft cloth to remove any paint residue.

5. MAINTENANCE

ENERGIZER 3SG02 - MAINTENANCE - 1

ATTENTION

• Never immerse the spray gun entirely in a solvent.
