4. Proper use

The auger is designed for digging planting holes, pergolas and fences on light soil. The auger is only suitable to a limited extent for use on hard, stony and rooted soil.

The product may only be used in the intended manner. Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator, not the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or injuries of any type resulting from this.

An element of the intended use is also the observance of the safety instructions, as well as the assembly instructions and operating information in the operating manual.

Persons who operate and maintain the product must be familiar with the manual and must be informed about potential dangers.

The liability of the manufacturer and resulting damages are excluded in the event of modifications of the product.

The product may only be operated with original parts and original accessories from the manufacturer.

5. General safety instructions

• Always keep the work area clean and orderly. Unorganised work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Watch out for dangerous tripping hazards in the area where you are working.
- Keep the product firmly with both hands on the handles.
• Always ensure a safe footing. When using the product in high places, make sure that there are no persons underneath.
- Before operating the product, make sure that there are no hidden objects, such as an electrical cable, water pipe or gas pipe, in the floor. Otherwise the product may come into contact with it and cause a gas leak.

- Use personal protective equipment. Wear suitable protective clothing such as sturdy shoes (safety shoes), close-fitting clothing and work gloves.

6. Residual risks

8. Unpacking

  • Open the packaging and carefully remove the product.
  • Remove the packaging material, as well as the packaging and transport safety devices (if present).
  • Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
  • Check the product and accessory parts for transport damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must be informed immediately. Later claims will not be recognised.
  • If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the warranty period.
  • Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the operating manual before using for the first time.
  • When ordering please provide our article number as well as type and year of manufacture for the product.

⚠ WARNING!

The product and the packaging material are not children's toys! Do not let children play with plastic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of choking or suffocating!

9. Assembly

  1. Place the handle (1) on a workbench.
  2. Insert the drill (2) into the holder of the handle (1). Make sure that all two through-holes are aligned.
  3. Insert the hexagon head screws (3) through the holes and tighten them using the nuts (4) and an SW10 spanner (not included).

10. Operation

⚠ Attention!

Always make sure the product is fully assembled before commissioning!

  1. Always hold the product perpendicular to the floor surface.
  2. When drilling, turn the auger clockwise until you can either turn no further or the auger helix is completely filled with soil.
  3. The work is made easier if you pull the auger out of the hole regularly, remove the soil from the auger helix and only then continue.

11. Cleaning

• We recommend that you clean the product directly after every use.
- Clean the product at regular intervals using a damp cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning products or solvents; they could attack the plastic parts of the product. Make sure that no water can penetrate the interior of the product.

12. Storage

Store the product in a dark, dry and frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.

The optimum storage temperature lies between 5 and 30 °C.

Store the product in its original packaging. Cover the product to protect it from dust or moisture. Store the operating manual with the product.

13. Maintenance

The product is maintenance-free.
