9 8BEFORE THE FIRST USE
- Remove any stickers and protective film from the soleplate.
- Heat the iron to the maximum temperature and iron over a damp cloth for several minutes to remove any residue from the soleplate.
ATTENTION:
- The appliances are tested briefly each time after production. It is therefore normal for condensation droplets to have formed in the water tank.
-
It is normal for a strange smell to be released during initial use. This smell will disappear after a while.
-
There may be particles coming out of the ironing soleplate during the first use. This is normal. The particles are not harmful and will disappear after a while.
- While heating up the soleplate, a little steam will automatically come out of the soleplate. This is also normal and will last about 3 seconds.
USE
This steam station offers 2 options: dry ironing or steam ironing. To do this, follow the instructions below. Also carefully read the ironing tips at the bottom of this section before using the appliance.
DRY IRONING
- Place the iron on the thermal insulation pads.
- Insert the plug into the wall socket. Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting, depending on the type of fabric to be ironed. The iron will start to heat up. The temperature indicator light will start to illuminate.
-
When the temperature indicator light goes back off, the selected temperature has been reached. You can now start ironing.
-
After ironing, place the iron on the thermal insulation pads. Turn the temperature dial back to 'MIN' to switch off the appliance. The temperature indicator light will now turn off. Remove the plug from the wall socket. Let the appliance cool down completely.

| Category | Current (kN) | |---|---| | Cotton | 000 | | Linen | 100 |Caution: never touch the hot ironing soleplate!
IRONING WITH STEAM
Caution: do not plug in yet.
- Fill the water tank with water, being careful not to exceed the maximum level (1.2 l). Use only tap water or 50% tap water and 50% demineralised water in case of hard water.
- Slide the water tank back into the appliance.
- Place the iron on the thermal insulation pads. Plug the plug into the socket. Turn the temperature dial until it reaches the area where steam can be requested (see symbol on temperature dial), otherwise water droplets will come out of the soleplate due to condensation. The temperature indicator light will start to come on.

When the temperature indicator light goes out again, the appliance has reached the correct temperature.
-
To iron with steam, press the steam button on the inside of the handle of the iron. A continuous flow of steam will come out of the sole. When you release the button, iron again dry, without steam. CAUTION: Never touch the hot iron soleplate! Never direct the steam at people!
-
After ironing, place the iron on the thermal insulation pads. Turn the temperature dial back to 'MIN' to switch off the appliance. The temperature indicator light will now go out. Remove the plug from the wall socket. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE IRON ON THE BASE
- Place the iron on the base with the tip of the soleplate under the lock button. Press the lock button to lock the iron on the base. You can now easily move the iron together with the base.
- To release the iron from the base, press the release button. The lock button will come up. You can now take the iron off the base.
IRON DIAL
Use the dial to set the right temperature for the right fabric.

IRONING TIPS
- Always check first if there is a label attached to the garment with instructions for ironing. If so, always follow these instructions.
- The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Therefore, always iron garments that need the lowest temperature first, such as synthetic fabrics.
- If a fabric consists of several types of fibres, always choose the lowest temperature to iron the combination of these fibres.
- Silks and other fabrics that shine should be ironed along the inside.
- Velvet and other fabrics that become shiny quickly should be ironed with light pressure in one direction. Always keep the iron moving.
- Never iron over zips or other metal objects in a garment. This can damage the soleplate. Always iron around such objects.
Attention: when ironing woollen fabrics, the fabric may become shiny. Therefore, turn the garment inside out to iron it.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Wipe off any residue on the ironing sole with a damp cloth or a non-caustic (liquid) cleaning product.
- Note: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive products to scrub the soleplate clean.
- Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft, damp cloth.
- Wipe away drips on the steam station and clean the thermal insulation pads with a dry cloth.
- If you do not use the steam station for a long time, pour the water out of the water tank and put the iron on the thermal insulation pads for storage.
ATTENTION: Use only tap water (or 50% tap water and 50% demineralised water in case of hard water) in the steam station. Caution: 100% softened or demineralised water should be avoided! Using a “softener” and/or scented water may cause brown stains, resulting in damage to the steam chamber.
DECALCIFY
Descale the steam station regularly to extend the life of the appliance and to maintain proper operation. To do this, follow the instructions below:
- Fill half of the water tank with a mixture of 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water.
- Plug in and turn the temperature dial to 'dry ironing'.
- The temperature indicator light will come on to show that the appliance is heating up. Wait for the appliance to heat up and hold the iron over a sink or sink.
- Now hold down the steam button for one minute so that you produce continuous steam. The appliance will clean itself in this way.

- After this, fill the water tank with water only. Turn the temperature dial to the maximum and wait for the appliance to reach temperature. Repeat this cycle of spraying steam 2 to 3 times, but this time with just water, until the vinegar smell has disappeared.
