Fully unroll the electric lead before use.
Place the appliance on a sturdy, even surface or ironing board.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
The iron must always be set to ‘MIN’ before you place or remove the plug from the socket.
Wait until the iron has cooled off completely before putting it away.
Never pull on the mains lead, always gold the plug itself.
To prevent overloading the fuse, never plug another appliance with an equal mains voltage into the same electrical fuse group.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance produces steam with a high temperature. Always take great care when handling the appliance and warn others of the possible danger.
Only use the appliance for its intended purpose.
Make sure the electric lead does not come into contact with the (hot) metal soleplate of the iron.
Always remove the plug from the socket before (re) filling the iron with water or when you are not using it.
Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
If the electric lead is damaged it must be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer or by its after sales service centre or by a qualified person, in order to prevent all risk of accidents.
Take good care if turning the appliance upside down; you can suffer burns through the hot water in the reservoir, escaping steam or through touching the iron underneath.
If the iron is not functioning correctly, remove the plug immediately from the mains socket and allow the appliance to be checked by the manufacturer, its service point or a similarly qualified person.
Your iron has been designed for placing in a vertical position resting on its back end when not in use. Never leave the iron unattended when plugged in. Never place the iron on an unprotected surface, this includes in the vertical position resting on its back end.
USING THE IRON THE FIRST TIME
Remove the plastic protecting the soleplate (if it is present) and clean the soleplate with a soft non-abrasive cloth.
Some parts of the iron have been lightly greased, that will cause the iron to emit a slight odour and a little bit of smoke when first used. This is normal and will not take place again.
Keep the soleplate smooth and avoid scratches. Do not iron over metal surfaces with the soleplate: the edge of the ironing board, buttons or zips.
Temperature choice
Check the ironing instructions on the clothing you want to iron.
If a piece of clothing does not have a label with ironing instructions, but you are familiar with the material, you can then make use of the overview here below (fig B).
Material with a special shiny layer or other extra finishes must be ironed using the lowest temperature.
If your item of clothing consists of several types of fabric always use the lowest temperature corresponding to the type of fabric you have. A piece of clothing, for
example, 60% polyester and 40% cotton must be ironed using the temperature settings for polyester without steam (fig B).
Take care to sort your washing out properly, checking the type of material

• Wool, silk and combined materials
••• Cotton and linen (with steam)
and selecting the correct temperature needed for ironing. Start with the items of clothing that require a low temperature and finish of with the washing requiring the highest temperature(s).
Wool and other delicate materials such as silk, velvet, etc. are best ironed using an ironing cloth in order to prevent damage to the material.
Filling the water reservoir
Remove the plug from the mains socket.
Adjust the steam-generating dial to the setting without steam (0).
Fill the water reservoir through the opening (fig 2) to the maximum level MAX.
If you live in an area with hard water it is advisable to use demineralised or distilled water. Do not use any chemically modified or perfumed water. Never store the iron with if its reservoir is full.

Fill the iron as described.
Plug the appliance into the mains socket.
Steam ironing is only possible if the highest temperature is set: ( ·s ).
If you select a lower temperature the water supply will be automatically shut off by the drip-stop so that no water is able to escape via the soleplate.
Wait until the indicator lamp goes out, that means the selected temperature has been reached. Adjust the steam adjustment dial to the desired setting.
In between ironing and when you have finished ironing your clothing place the iron in an upright position resting on its back end.
After ironing remove the plug from the mains socket, pour the remaining water out of the reservoir and leave the iron to cool off in a vertical position.
Spraying
The spray button can be used at all times, with or without steam ironing, as long as the water reservoir is filled up. When using the spray button for the first time press it in repeatedly in order to activate it.
Steam shot
Through means of the steam shot you can remove tough creases.
Adjust the temperature dial to MAX (fig 3) and wait until the indicator lamp goes out.
Press on the stem shot button. Wait a few seconds so the steam penetrates the material before pressing again.
Please Note: Do not use the steam shot more than three times in a row so that the best quality steam is achieved. Repetitive use of the steam shot function will lower the iron's heat. For this reason, always pay attention to the temperature indicator lamp before and after using this function.

The anti-scale cleansing system will greatly reduce the limescale build-up that can occur during ironing. This will lengthen the lifespan of your iron considerably.
With prolonged use of your iron some limescale build-up is unavoidable.
Switching off automatically
In order to conserve energy and to guarantee your safety the iron will automatically switch off when not in use for a certain amount of time. When you plug the appliance in to the mains socket this function will not be active for the first 30 second because the appliance must warm up.
After warming up the appliance will switch itself off if you do not use it for 8 minutes while it has been placed in the vertical position resting on its back end. If you leave your appliance for 30 seconds in a horizontal position without moving the safety system will also switch the iron off. In order to use the iron again moving it lightly back and forth will reactivate it.
