1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read this user manual carefully and keep it in a safe and easily accessible place. Use the device only as described in this manual. Any damage resulting from failure to follow the instructions in this manual will immediately and automatically void the warranty. The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from non-compliance with the guidelines of this manual, including improper storage, usage, or use that is inconsistent with the requirements set out herein.

1.1. This device is intended exclusively for household use and similar applications, such as: staff kitchen areas, break rooms in shops, offices and other working environments, farms, and by customers in hotels, motels and other residential environments, bed and breakfasts, and guest houses. The product is not intended for commercial use.
1.2. The device is not intended for use in bathrooms or near water.
1.3. The device is not intended for outdoor use.
1.4. Use the device only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended and may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
1.5. The device must not be used by children under 8 years of age.
1.6. Keep the device and its power cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age.
1.7. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children under 8 years of age.
1.8. Keep packaging materials and protective films away from children under 8 years of age.
1.9. The device may be used by children aged 8 and above only under constant adult supervision, and if they have been instructed on the safe use of the device and understand the hazards involved.

1.11. The device may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience and/or knowledge, provided they are under the supervision of a responsible person and have been instructed on safe use of the device and understand the associated hazards.
1.12. Before connecting the device, check that the voltage and frequency of your electrical system match those indicated on the device's rating plate. If they do not match, do not connect the device.
1.13. The device must not be used with an extension cord.
1.14. The device must not be operated using an external timer or a separate remote control system.
1.15. Keep the device and its power cord away from damp and slippery surfaces, water sources and other liquids, external heat sources, and sharp edges.
1.16. Keep the device and its power cord away from open flames (e.g., lit candles).
1.17. Do not place any objects on the device. Only accessories included in the purchased set or approved by the manufacturer may be placed on the device.
1.18. The power cord should be positioned so that it does not hang over the edge of a countertop or table.
1.19. The power cord should be positioned so that it is not twisted, bent, pinched, or strained, as this may cause damage.
1.20. The power cord should be positioned to avoid the risk of being accidentally pulled or tripped over.
1.21. The power cord must not be used as a carrying handle. Regularly check the power cord, plug, and other parts of the device for damage. If damage is found, stop using the product and contact Customer Service to replace the faulty part.

1.22. Do not wrap the power cord around the body of the device.
1.23. If the power cord is damaged, immediately stop using the device. The power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
1.24. When unplugging the device, always hold the power plug. Do not unplug the cord by pulling on the cable itself.
1.25. Do not touch or hold the device or its power cord with wet hands.
1.26. Always unplug the device before cleaning, maintenance, or transport.
1.27. To avoid overloading the electrical circuit, do not operate another high-power appliance on the same circuit simultaneously.
1.28. Place the device on a flat, stable surface.
1.29. Use the device in a well-ventilated area. Maintain a minimum distance of 10 - 15cm from walls/edges and other objects on all sides to ensure proper air circulation.
1.30. Do not place the device on or near a gas or electric burner, or inside or on a heated oven or any other heat source.
1.31. While the device is in use, keep it away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishcloths, or any other flammable materials.
1.32. Do not use the device under wall-mounted cabinets or shelves.
1.33. Use the device only with attachments and accessories provided or recommended by the manufacturer. Do not use included attachments or accessories with other appliances.
1.34. Do not place any metal items or foil-covered components inside the device.
1.35. Do not cover or drape the device during operation.
1.36. Do not move the device while it is in operation.
1.37. If any damage or malfunction is observed, immediately unplug the device and stop using it until the issue is resolved.
1.38. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. Repairs must be carried out exclusively by an authorized service center. An authorized service center is the manufacturer's after-sales service provider authorized to perform repairs and fix any kind of faults. In case of problems, please return the device to this center.
1.39. If smoke or fire is observed, immediately unplug the device from the power source.
1.40. Do not place or insert any objects into the openings of the device that are not intended for that purpose.
1.41. Ensure that no objects or liquids enter the openings of the device that are not meant for such use.
1.42. Do not use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
1.43. Before cleaning the device, allow it to cool down completely.
1.44. None of the device's components are dishwasher-safe unless otherwise specified.

2. QUICK START

WARNING!

Before performing the actions described in this section, please make sure to read Section 1. Safety Instructions to avoid damage to the device and/or injury. The manufacturer is not liable for any damages resulting from improper use of the device contrary to the instructions.

Place the device on a flat table or countertop, at least 10 - 15cm away from walls, edges, and other objects. Ensure that none of its components are damaged. Install the heating plates into the device, then plug the device into a grounded power outlet. Select a program on the control panel and wait for the device to heat up. Then place the selected food inside and close the lid. Monitor the level of grilling. Once the food reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the device.

Note: The food will be hot after removal from the device—do not touch it with bare hands. Wait for it to cool down or handle it using kitchen utensils or protective gloves.

After use, unplug the grill from the power source (grounded socket), allow it to cool down completely, and clean it according to the procedure described in Section 5. Cleaning and Maintenance.

3. OPERATION AND USE OF THE DEVICE

3.1.Before First Use

Do not open the packaging without due care and attention. Avoid using sharp knives or pointed objects, as they may damage the device. Remove all components and the user manual from the box, discard the protective films, and check whether all contents are included and undamaged. If any irregularities are noticed, do not use the damaged parts and contact the service center at the address provided in the Warranty Card.

Note: Before first use, please follow the steps below:

• Remove all packaging and protective materials from the grill and either keep them or dispose of them safely in accordance with local recycling regulations. Plastic packaging materials should be kept out of reach of children.
• Fully unwind the power cord and check for any damage. Do not use the device if it or the power cord is damaged or not functioning properly. In case of damage, contact Customer Service for inspection, repair, or replacement instructions.
• Keep the user manual and proof of purchase for future reference.
• Before first use, clean the grill according to the instructions in Section 5. Cleaning and Maintenance.
• As with all appliances that have electric heating elements, the Kohersen Black Matt NX Ceramic Smart grill may emit a "distinct" odor during the first use. This is a normal occurrence and is not a cause for concern.

3.2. Operating the Device

• Insert the lower and upper heating plates into the device.
• Close the lid using the handle.
• Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
  The device will emit a sound signal, and all buttons on the control panel will light up.
• Select the desired program on the control panel. The LED around the selected program button will light up white, and the "START / STOP" button will light up red.

10. If no action is taken within 20 seconds, the button backlights will turn off, except for the „START / STOP" button, which will flash red. The device will automatically enter standby mode. To wake the device from standby, press the „START / STOP" button.

11. After selecting the desired program, press the „START / STOP“ button to begin the preheating process. While the device is heating up, the following symbol will appear on the display:

Note: The components of the device become hot during operation.

• Once the preheating process is complete, the display will show the grilling time (in minutes) associated with the selected program, and the device will automatically begin the countdown.
• Open the lid using the handle.
• Place the food on the heating plate.
• Close the lid using the handle.
• When the countdown is complete, the device will emit a sound signal and display the message "END". The heating will be automatically turned off.
• Open the lid using the handle.

Caution: The components remain hot after operation.

• Remove the prepared food from the heating plate.

Caution: The food will be hot after removal - do not touch it with bare hands. Wait for it to cool down or handle it using kitchen utensils or protective gloves.

3.3. Using the Automatic Mode for Steaks

Preparing the device for operation in the automatic steak mode is identical to the procedure described in Section 3.2.

• After selecting the "Steak" program on the control panel, the LED around the program button will start flashing white, and the "START / STOP" button will flash red.
• Pressing the "Steak" program button again allows you to select the desired doneness level:

• After selecting the doneness level, press the "START / STOP" button to begin the preheating process. The LED around the "Steak" program button will light up solid white, and the "START / STOP" button will light up solid red.

The subsequent operation and steps are identical to those described in Section 3.2.

3.4. Using the Manual Mode

Preparing the device for use in manual mode follows the same procedure as described in Section 3.2.

• To use manual mode, press the "MANUAL" button on the control panel. The LED around the program button will light up solid white, and the "START / STOP" button will flash red.
• Use the + / - buttons to set the grilling time within a range of 00:10 to 90:00 minutes, adjustable in 00:10-minute increments.
• Press the "START / STOP" button to begin the preheating process. The LED around the "MANUAL" button will start flashing green, and the "START / STOP" button will light up solid red.
• If no grilling time is set before the preheating process starts, the display will show the symbol "---".
• After the preheating process is completed, the device will emit a sound signal, and if a grilling time was set, countdown will begin. The LED around the "MANUAL" button will light up solid green.

The subsequent operation and steps are identical to those described in Section 3.2.

Note: In manual mode, the grilling time countdown is for informational purposes only and does not automatically stop the device when the time runs out.

Note: After 90:00 minutes of continuous grilling, the device will automatically shut off and enter standby mode. To wake the device from standby, press the "START / STOP" button.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the grill from the power outlet and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.

Never immerse the device or its power cord in water or any other liquid, and never rinse it with water or cleaning agents!

5.1. Cleaning the Device

• Before cleaning, unplug the device from the power outlet and allow all components to cool down completely.
• Use a damp, soft cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the device. Ensure that no moisture enters the ventilation openings.
• To prevent damage to the surface, do not use scouring pads, steel wool, brushes, solvents, or aggressive chemical or alkaline cleaners, including metal polishes.
• Do not use sharp or pointed objects to clean the interior of the device, as they may damage the heating element.
• Do not insert fingers or metal/foil-covered objects into the openings of the device.
• Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.

5.2. Cleaning the Heating Plates

• Once the heating plates have completely cooled down, remove them from the device by pressing the "EJECT" buttons for the lower and upper heating plates, respectively.
• The NX Ceramic-coated heating plates are dishwasher safe.
• To ensure maximum lifespan of the NX Ceramic coating, it is recommended to wash the heating plates by hand using a damp, soft cloth with a small amount of detergent. Then rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

5.3. Storage

• Before storing the device, clean it according to the instructions provided (see Section 5.1 Cleaning the Device).
• Store the device in a dry, dust-free place, out of reach of children.
• Store the device in its original packaging.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR
