Remove all parts of the device and the operating manual from the box, remove the protective lms and then check that the contents of the package are complete and that the individual parts are not damaged. If you notice any irregularities, do not use the damaged parts and contact the service centre at the address specied in section 8. Warranty and service. Important: Before using, follow the instructions below. - Remove all packaging and protection elements from the kettle and keep or dispose of them safely in accordance with local recycling regulations. Keep plastic packaging materials out of the reach of children. - Unwind the power cable to its full length and inspect it for damage. Do not use the device if the device or its power cable is damaged or not functioning properly. In case of damage, contact the Customer Service for advice on the inspection, repair or return of the damaged product. - Keep the operating manual and proof of purchase of the product for future reference. - Make sure the switch is in the OFF (up) position before connecting the device to a power source (earthed socket). - Lift the device vertically from the power base, open the lid and pour cold water into the device to the MAX level (1.7 l) and boil it, then pour out all the water. This is done to remove residues from the production process and transport. - Repeat the above procedure twice before using the device to boil water for drinking. Your new kettle is now ready to use.19
3.2. Automatic switch-off The device is equipped with an automatic switch-off function. It shuts off the power to the device when it is empty to prevent accidental use without water. After activating this safety function, disconnect the device from the power source and allow it to cool down for a few minutes before relling with water. The boil-dry protection will reset and the device will be ready for use again. If the device is still at too high temperature, the safety feature will not allow it to start until the appropriate temperature is reached. 3.3. Kettle operation - To ll the kettle, remove it from the power base, press the lid opening button to open it, ll it with the appropriate amount of drinking water and then close the lid. - Make sure the kettle is lled with water at least to the MIN level, but not above the MAX level. Too little water will cause the kettle to turn off before the water boils. Too much water will cause hot water to spill out of the spout during boiling. Be careful not to let water spill onto the power base. - Make sure the lid is closed before placing the kettle on the power base. - Plug the power base with dry hands into a power source (earthed socket). - Press the ON/OFF switch. - The control lamp will illuminate and water heating will begin. Remove the kettle from the power base by grabbing the handle and lifting it. When pouring water out of the kettle, be careful not to get burned by hot water or hot steam. Do not open the lid when the water in the kettle is hot. To reboil the water, allow the kettle to cool down for 15-20 seconds before pressing the ON/OFF switch again to boil the water. Hot surface! The body, spout, lter and lid heat up and are very hot during operation. Only touch the handle and the cool touch zone of the device (see section 4. General device information). Cleaning the lter - Clean the lter regularly to ensure its proper function, i.e., trapping limescale particles and preventing them from falling in when water is poured through the spout. - To clean the lter, remove it (see section 4. General device information) from the kettle and rinse it under running water. Then wipe the lter with a soft brush. - To prevent damage to the lter, do not use tools or cleaning agents that could tear or damage the lter during cleaning. - If the above steps do not completely remove the limescale from the lter, descale the device (see section 5.3. Descaling). 5.3. Descaling - Descale the device regularly in order to obtain the best possible results from its operation. The frequency of descaling depends on the hardness of the water poured into the device and the frequency of use. - It is recommended to carry out descaling using commercially available limescale removers intended for domestic appliances. When using this type of product, carry out the descaling by following the instructions on the packaging of your product. - If limescale remover is not available on the market, the descaling process can be carried out using white vinegar. If using this type of product, carry out descaling by lling the kettle with enough white vinegar to cover the bottom of the kettle to a depth of about
1.5 cm, leaving it in the kettle overnight. Do not switch on the device during the descaling
process. - It may be necessary to repeat the descaling process several times with white vinegar until the limescale deposit is completely removed. Remember to use fresh vinegar every time. - Once the descaling process is complete, empty the kettle and then ll it with fresh, clean water.
