READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:

WHEN USING ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE PRESENT, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• NEVER insert pins or other metallic fasteners into the appliance.
• Use this appliance for the intended use as described in this booklet. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by HoMedics.
• NEVER operate the appliance if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return it to the HoMedics Service Centre for examination and repair.
• Excessive use could lead to the product's excessive heating and shorter life. Should this occur, discontinue use and allow the unit to cool before operating.
• DO NOT operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electrocution or injury to persons.
  • DO NOT use outdoors.
• DO NOT attempt to repair the appliance. There are no user serviceable parts. For service, send to a HoMedics Service Centre. All servicing of this appliance must be performed by authorised HoMedics service personnel only.
• Never place appliance on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch. Keep air openings free of lint, hair etc.
• Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a bath or sink. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE.

• If you have any concerns regarding your health, consult a doctor before using this appliance.
• If you are susceptible to allergic reactions or if you have circulatory problems, consult a physician before using this product.
• Do not use on irritated, sunburned or chapped skin, or on any area with dermatological problems.
• Do not apply over skin eruptions, warts, moles or varicose veins.
• Use should be easy and painless. If you experience nail or skin irritation, or hand discomfort when using this product, discontinue use. If a more extreme reaction occurs, consult your doctor.
• DO NOT use on an infant, invalid or on a sleeping or unconscious person. DO NOT use on insensitive skin or on a person with poor blood circulation.
• Ensure that your hands are dry when operating the controls.
• This product should NEVER be used by any individual suffering from any ailments that would limit the user's capacity to operate the controls.

BATTERY CAUTIONS:

• Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
• When installing batteries, observe proper +/- polarities. Incorrect installation of battery may cause damage to the unit.
• Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g., alkaline with carbon-zinc or old batteries with new ones).
• If the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove batteries to prevent damage due to possible battery leakage.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.

Battery directive

This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in the domestic waste as they contain substances which can be damaging to the environment and health. Please dispose of batteries in designated collection points.

WEEE explanation

This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental safe recycling.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS

• This unit use 2 AA batteries.
- Slide off battery door (H).
- Insert battery into the compartment observing the + / - polarities diagram in the battery compartment.
- Slide battery door back on until it clicks into place.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Switch the hand unit to the off position ("0" setting).

2. Choose one of the product's interchangeable attachments and gently snap it into place (Fig 1).

3. Switch the unit on, selecting high ("2" setting) or low ("1" setting) speed.

4. Lightly apply the attachment to the nail or skin surface.

5. Periodically stop treatment to check your results.

6. When finished, switch unit to the off position. Wait for the attachment to come to a stop, then remove it for storage or replacement.

7. After using, wipe the surface of each attachment with a damp cloth to remove residue.

Use only the attachments provided with your Portable Manicure & Pedicure Kit. When using attachments, stop treatment occasionally to monitor your results.

Using your Portable Manicure & Pedicure Kit

The Portable Manicure & Pedicure Kit comes complete with five professional-style tools for shaping, filing and polishing nails of all sizes, plus removing rough and dry skin:

A) Sapphire Shaping Disc

Lightly apply the disc to the edge of your nail, moving the unit along the side of the nail until you achieve the shape and smoothness you desire, while taking care not to take the nail too short.

B) Filing Cone

Files away rough edges around nails and removes dry skin. It can also be used to treat ingrown nails and other problem nails. Gently apply the cone to the area that needs attention, pausing frequently to monitor your progress.

C) Shaping Cone

Removes rough and dry skin around the nail and soften calluses. Lightly apply the cone to the skin, using a back and forth motion. Stop treatment if irritation occurs.

D) Cuticle Lifter

Move along the line of nail or toe to push back cuticle. For best results, first soak cuticles in warm water to soften.

E) Polishing Disc

When you have finished filing, lightly buff the nail surface to smooth edges and add shine.

After your manicure and pedicure

After filing and shaping nails and removing rough skin, you may bathe hands or feet to rehydrate nails and soften cuticles. Soak your hands or feet in a lukewarm bath for 15 minutes. Next, massage moisturiser (not included) into the skin and into each nail, paying close attention to your cuticles. Finally, dry hands or feet completely and apply the polishing cone to smooth edges and lightly buff nail surfaces for added shine.

MAINTENANCE

To Store

Place appliance and attachments into the storage case. Store case in a safe, dry place, out of children's reach.

To Clean

Never use liquids or abrasive cleaners to clean the housing of the appliance or the case. Wipe off case with a damp cloth. Clean attachments periodically using detergent. Allow attachments to dry before inserting them into the hand unit.
