4. Proper use

Lawn and garden roller for rolling surfaces and freshly planted seeds (e.g. lawn seeds, but also seeds in beds) to ensure good soil contact for the seeds. The roller can also be used after scarifying or fertilising the lawn.

The product may only be used in the intended manner. Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator, not the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or injuries of any type resulting from this.

An element of the intended use is also the observance of the safety instructions, as well as the assembly instructions and operating information in the operating manual.

Persons who operate and maintain the product must be familiar with the manual and must be informed about potential dangers.

The liability of the manufacturer and resulting damages are excluded in the event of modifications of the product.

The product may only be operated with original parts and original accessories from the manufacturer.

5. General safety instructions

⚠ WARNING - Read all safety information, instructions, illustrations and technical data for this product.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • Keep the work area clean and tidy. Unorganised work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Watch out for dangerous tripping hazards in the area where you are working.
  • Hold the tool firmly with both hands on upper push bar.

8. Unpacking

  • Open the packaging and carefully remove the product.
  • Remove the packaging material, as well as the packaging and transport safety devices (if present).
  • Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
  • Check the product and accessory parts for transport damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must be informed immediately. Later claims will not be recognised.
  • If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the warranty period.
  • Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the operating manual before using for the first time.
  • When ordering please provide our article number as well as type and year of manufacture for the product.

⚠ WARNING!

The product and the packaging material are not children's toys! Do not let children play with plastic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of choking or suffocating!

9. Assembly (Fig. 2, 3)

Tool required:

• Phillips screwdriver*
- Open-ended spanner, AF 10*
- Open-ended spanner, AF 13*
* = not included in the scope of delivery!

  1. Place the roller (5) on a suitable surface. Ensure that the roller (5) cannot roll away.
  2. Place the lower bar (2) on one side of the roller (5) on the threaded bolt and secure the lower bar (2) with the cotter pin (6) (Fig. 2).
  3. Insert the threaded bolts of the dirt scraper (3) into the hole in the lower bar (2) (Fig. 2).
  4. Fit a washer (8) and an M8 stop nut (7) onto the threaded bolt of the dirt scraper (3) as shown in Fig. 2. Only screw the M8 stop nut (7) onto the threaded bolt of the dirt scraper (3) until you feel the first resistance.
  5. Carry out steps 2 to 4 for the other side of the roller (Fig. 2).
  6. Attach the upper push bar (1) to the two lower bars (2) using the M6 bolts (9), M6 washers (11) and M6 lock nuts (10) (Fig. 3).
  7. Fully tighten the M8 stop nuts (7) on both sides of the dirt scraper (3).
  8. After assembly, fill the roller with water or sand and close the roller opening with the sealing cap (4).

10. Operation

Attention!

Always make sure the product is fully assembled before commissioning!

  1. Pull the roller in regular tracks over the area to be rolled.
  2. Adjust the dirt scraper (3) so that as little soil as possible sticks to the roller.
  3. Only roll dry soil.

11. Cleaning

• We recommend that you clean the product directly after every use.
- Clean the product at regular intervals using a damp cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning products or solvents; they could attack the plastic parts of the product.

12. Storage

Empty the roller completely before storing it. Store the product in a dark, dry and frost-free place that is inaccessible to children. The optimum storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Keep the product in its original packaging. Cover the product to protect it from dust or moisture. Store the operating manual with the product.

The product is maintenance-free.
