How to connect the Mic Splitter to a microphone and a mixer?

Connect your microphone to the combo input (XLR or 6.35 mm jack). Set the Mic/Line push-button to the Mic position. Connect the direct output (XLR) to your main mixer input. If necessary, enable +48 V phantom power on the mixer for condenser microphones.

What are the isolated outputs for?

The isolated outputs (1 and 2) are equipped with isolation transformers that prevent ground loops and hum. They allow distributing the signal to monitoring consoles, recorders, or broadcast systems without interference.

When to use the ground lift switches?

Use the Ground Lift switches when you hear hum or noise. By activating them, you break the ground connection between the input and the isolated output, eliminating ground loops in complex setups.

Can I use a line level source?

Yes, connect your line source (synthesizer, drum machine, etc.) to the combo input via a 6.35 mm jack cable. Set the Mic/Line push-button to Line to adjust impedance and gain.

Does the Mic Splitter require power?

No, the Mic Splitter is a passive device. It does not require any external power. The isolation transformers work without electricity, making it reliable and easy to use.

What is the difference between the direct output and the isolated outputs?

The Samson Mic Splitter is a passive audio signal duplicator designed for use in both live and studio environments. With one XLR-1/4" TRS combo input and three XLR outputs (one direct and two transformer-isolated), it provides a reliable solution for distributing a single microphone or line signal to multiple destinations—such as front-of-house mixers, stage monitors, and recording interfaces.

Its ground lift switches on both the isolated output channels to ensure the cleanest possible signal in environments prone to grounding noise or hum. Housed in a 14-gauge steel chassis, the Mic Splitter delivers dependable performance on the road or in the studio as part of Samson's rugged S-Max line.
