How do I connect the ReTrack to my audio interface?

Use an XLR or 6.35 mm jack cable to connect your interface's output to the ReTrack's COMBO INPUT. Select the input type (Line or Headphone) with the appropriate selector.

What is the difference between the Line and Headphone inputs?

The Line input accepts a standard balanced or unbalanced signal, while the Headphone (stereo) input is designed for headphone outputs of interfaces or laptops. Use the selector to choose the appropriate mode.

How do I use the Ground Lift?

If you hear hum or buzz, activate the GROUND LIFT switch. This isolates the ground of the XLR input (pin 1) to break ground loops. By default, the switch is in the GROUND position.

Can I use the ReTrack with a guitar amp?

Yes, connect the OUTPUT TO AMP (6.35 mm TS jack) to your guitar amp's input. The ReTrack is designed for reamping recorded signals to an amp or effects chain.

Does the ReTrack require power?

No, the Samson ReTrack is a passive device and does not require any external power source. It uses an isolation transformer designed by Samson.

How do I adjust the output level?

Setup

The Samson ReTrack is an ideal tool for reamping pre-recorded tracks in the studio. Here's how to set up a typical reamp configuration using the ReTrack:

• Set all volume controls to minimum before making connections.
• Connect the output of your audio interface, mixer, or USB DAC to the COMBO INPUT.

Use the INPUT SELECT switch to choose the correct signal type (Line or Phones).

• Connect the AMP OUTPUT to your amplifier or effect chain, and set the MUTE switch to NOT MUTED.
• Use the LEVEL TO AMP, volume rotary knob to adjust the output level to match your amp's input sensitivity.
• If you hear a hum or ground noise, try flipping the GROUND LIFT switch.
• Adjust your amplifier and monitor settings as needed for your desired tone.
