Installation / Disassembly

Installation instructions for Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Grip

1. Official Xiaomi 15 Ultra protective case is attached to the phone.

1. Confirm that the camera grip switch is in released position (no red sign).

1. Push the camera grip along the bottom of the case.

1. When the grip is fully attached to the case, flip the switch to the side near the back of the phone to lock in position (red sign revealed).

1. Toggle the switch close to the screen side of the phone to release the latch (red sign disappeared).

1. Pull out the camera grip slowly along the bottom sides of the case.

Note: Xiaomi camera grip needs to be used with the official Xiaomi 15 Ultra protective case.

Installation and disassembly instructions for Detachable Shutter Button

1. Attach the rubber ring to the detachable shutter button.

2. Align the detachable shutter button with the pre-drilled screw hole on the shutter key.

3. Rotate the detachable shutter button clockwise until securely fastened to complete the installation.

To remove the shutter button, follow the steps in reverse order to complete the removal.

1. Flip up the quick-release screw lifting ring.

1. Lift the ring gently and rotate it counterclockwise until the screw is fully disengaged from the grip.

2. Install the thumb support as shown (aligning the thumb support hole with the screw hole).

1. Align the quick-release screw with the thumb support hole.

2. Rotate the quick-release screw clockwise until securely fastened.

1. Rotate the lifting ring back to a flat position. 7. Installation complete.

To remove the detachable thumb support, follow the steps in reverse order to complete the removal.

Installation instructions for Decorative Ring

Note: The decorative ring needs to be used with the official Xiaomi 15 Ultra protective case.

1. Align the ring alignment point with the case alignment point.

2. Align the positioning points, press down gently and turn clockwise to secure tightly.

1. Installation is successful when the alignment point is rotated to the release button. There will be a "clicking" sensation when it is installed in place. After installation, you may check if it is in place by rotating it counter-clockwise.

1. Press and hold the release button and twist the decorative ring counter-clockwise.

2. Rotate the decorative ring alignment point to the position shown in the illustration to remove it.

1. Remove the decorative ring.

Installation instructions for Adapter Ring

Note: The 67mm filter adapter ring is required to be used with Xiaomi 15 Ultra official protective case (filters need to be purchased separately. It can be used with camera filters with a 67mm thread).

1. Align the 67mm filter adapter ring alignment point with the protective case alignment point.

2. Once the alignment points are aligned, rotate in a clockwise direction to tighten.

1. Installation is successful when the alignment point is rotated to the release button.

There will be a "clicking" sensation when it is installed in place. After installation, you may check if it is in place by rotating it counter-clockwise.

Once the installation is confirmed in place, the generic (threaded port) 67mm camera filters can be adapted (filters need to be purchased separately).

Disassembly instructions for Adapter Ring

Note: If the filter and the adapter ring are installed too tightly, the filter and the adapter ring may be removed together. In this case, the filter and the adapter ring can be separated by placing the filter and the adapter ring on the protective case (the position of step 2 in the illustration) and turning it counter-clockwise.

Product features

Connection & Pairing

Once the grip and phone are installed in place, the grip and phone will be automatically connected and paired. When the connection is successful, the phone will display a successful connection prompt.

Charging function

• You can also use any third-party charger that complies with USB2.0 or higher protocol standards and also meets the requirements of the International Information Technology Equipment Safety Standard (IEC 60950), Audio/video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment Standard (IEC 62368-1) and the related laws and regulations of your country or region.
• The maximum voltage shall not exceed [5V] and the maximum current shall not exceed [3A].
• Using other chargers that do not meet the above requirements to charge this product may damage the product itself and your personal or property safety.
• When the grip is connected to the phone

- Emergency Charging: By default, the grip will automatically charge the phone when the battery level drops to 20% or below. To change the automatic charging threshold, go to Settings - Camera grip, and select a different battery level. To start charging immediately after attaching the grip, go to Settings - Camera grip, and change the power source mode from "Emergency" to "Always".

- Quick Switch: Users can customize and add the "Charge via grip" quick switch in the pull-down status bar. When enabled, the grip will begin charging the phone; when disabled, charging will stop.

- Connecting the charging cable when the grip is not connected to the phone

- Using a Xiaomi power adapter (15W and above) will charge the grip at up to 15W. The indicator light is red during charging and will turn green when fully charged.

- Connecting the charging cable when the grip is connected to the phone

- Using a Xiaomi power adapter (90W and above) will prioritize charging the phone at up to 90W. When the phone is fully charged, it will automatically switch to charging the grip (12.5W Max). The indicator light is red during charging and will turn green when fully charged.

Camera Features

Shutter button

- When not entering the Camera App

• Press and hold to enter default camera/street photography mode.
• You can set it in system Settings - Camera Grip - Quick launch; if you select Start Camera, press and hold to enter Default Camera; if you select Start Camera and Take Photo, press and hold to enter Street Photography Mode.
• When in Camera App - take a photo/video
  • Half-Press - Lock the current focus area
  • One click - take a photo (start/end recording for video mode)
• Press and hold - continuous shooting (effective only when Camera settings - Professional camera grip - Shutter button- Burst is selected)
• When in camera Album
• Press halfway down - return to the Photo/Video screen of the camera

Zoom lever

- When in Camera App - take a photo/video

• Single toggle left/right - continuous zoom/Quickly switch between different focal lengths
• By default, a single press toggles the focal length, while holding down the switch enables continuous zoom. You can set the zoom to continuous zoom or quickly switch between different focal lengths in Camera settings - Professional camera grip - Zoom lever

Recording button

- When in Camera App - take a photo/video

• One click - quick start video recording
- The default setting is to quickly switch to video recording mode and start recording, you can change to other functions according to the usage requirements in the Camera settings - Professional camera grip - Video button.

Custom dial

- When in Camera App - take a photo/video

• Toggle left/right - adjust the currently set camera parameters
• The default setting is EV, which can be changed to other functions according to the usage requirements in Camera settings - Professional camera grip - Customize dial
• When in Album
• Toggle left/right - scroll to previous/next photo

Status Indicator Light

Charging scenario

• In charging: solid red
• Fully charged: solid green

Non-charging scenario

When not connected to a phone: press and hold the shutter button

• When grip power level is >20%, it lights up in solid green and goes out after 5s
• When grip power level is ≤ 20% , it lights up in solid red and goes out after 5s

When it is connected to a phone:

• When grip power level is >20% , it lights up in solid green and goes out after 5s
• When grip power level is ≤ 20% , it lights up in solid red and goes out after 5s

Power indicator widget

Widget can be added to the Home screen - select the Security - select Battery - Add to Home screen, which can show the current battery level of the grip

Sleep and wake-up

• Power on: the grip will automatically power on after connecting to the phone and start charging the phone.
  • Power off: the grip will automatically power off after disconnecting from the phone.

Firmware upgrade

You may check if a new firmware version is currently available in system Settings - Camera grip - Firmware updates. You can click to upgrade if a new version exists.

Precautions

- The locking force of the camera grip latch is mainly to secure the phone case and grip, DO NOT pull the camera grip forcefully in the locked state to prevent damage to the device.

- After installation of the camera grip on your phone, the microphone jack and speaker at the bottom will be covered, which may affect the functions of call, recording, music playback, audio zoom, etc. It is recommended that you remove the camera grip when using the functions of the above mentioned scenarios.

- The camera grip is mainly designed for photo/video recording scenarios, in scenarios other than photo/video recording (e.g. game, call, etc.) it is recommended to detach the camera grip.

- The wireless charging function is not available for your phone after the installation of the camera grip, please remove the grip when you need to charge your phone by wirelessly.

- Xiaomi Professional Photography Grip can only be used with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra official protective case, please refer to the official product site for subsequent compatible models.

- All functions of Xiaomi Professional Photography Grip are only effective within Xiaomi Camera APP, and cannot be used with three-party camera APP.

- Xiaomi Professional Photography Grip has OTA upgrade function, no notice will be given for the new or changed functions added or changed by OTA, but the changes will be updated to the latest version of the manual.

- After installing the grip, you will not be able to transfer files between the computer and phone via the grip's Type-C connector, use OTG (including but not limited to a thumb drive, game controller, OTG network card, etc.), or connect a wired headset (including digital/analogue headset). Remove the grip to use the above functions.

- When the grip is at low battery or high temperature, the charging power to the mobile phone will drop. When the phone is used under heavy load, charging it using a grip that is at low battery or high temperature may result in lower battery level of the phone.

- The wireless charging function will be unavailable when the 67mm filter adapter ring is installed. It is recommended to remove the 67mm filter adapter ring for wireless charging.

- The adapter ring can be used with 67mm camera filters. Due to the fact that the height of filters of different brands, manufacturers or functions may vary, cases of blocking the field of view of the ultra-wide-angle lens may occur when used with this product.

- Installation of the filter will block the flash of the phone. Please do not turn on the flash when the filter is installed to avoid reflecting the flash light between the lenses and affecting normal shooting.

- Different lens materials of different filters may affect the picture quality. Try to choose filter products with reliable quality.

- Different lens materials of different filters may affect the laser focus function of the phone. It is recommended to turn off the auto macro function when using filters.

- The adapter ring may deteriorate and loosen over time, replace with a new decorative/adapter ring if this occurs.

- The 67mm filter adapter ring is required to be used with Xiaomi 15 Ultra official protective case (filters need to be purchased separately. It can be used with camera filters with a 67mm thread).

Important Safety Information

Before using and operating this device, please read and follow the following precautions to ensure that the device performs optimally and is used correctly and safely.

• Please use the device within the temperature range of 0^ 35^ , and store the device within the temperature range of -20^ 45^ . Malfunction of the device may be caused when the ambient temperature is too high or too low.
• To avoid interference from radio waves, always keep the device at least 15 centimeters away from implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, cochlear implants, hearing aids, etc.) when in use, and consult the manufacturer for restrictions on this device.
• This device and its accessories may contain small parts. Keep the device and its accessories out of the reach of children to prevent children from choking and other risks caused by swallowing of small parts.
• Do not disassemble or alter the battery, insert foreign objects, or immerse it in water or other liquids, as this may cause battery leakage, overheating, fire or explosion.
• Do not drop, hit, crush or puncture the battery. Avoid exposing the battery to large external pressures that can cause internal short circuits and overheating. Do not continue to use the battery if it appears to be severely inflated.
• Do not place the device and the battery close to open flames and heating devices where high
  temperatures may be generated, e.g. candle, stove fire, sunlight, microwave, warmer, oven, etc.
• Do not expose the device and accessories to rain or moisture, which may cause danger of fire or electric shock.
• Do not try to repair the device yourself. If any part of the device does not work properly, consult Xiaomi after-sales service in time, or bring your device to Xiaomi official after-sales service outlets for inspection and repair.
• Connect other devices according to their instruction manuals. Do not connect incompatible devices to this device.
• Use accessories approved by the manufacturer and compatible with this device model. Use of other types of accessories may violate the warranty terms of this device and may cause safety incidents.
• This product contains a non-removable built-in battery, it is strictly prohibited to disassemble this product yourself. Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself to avoid battery breakage or other dangers.
• Please use Xiaomi-approved adapters only. Do not disassemble, puncture, crush, tear or burn the battery.
• Keep small cells and batteries which are considered swallowable out of the reach of children. Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2H of ingestion. In case of ingestion of a cell or battery, seek medical assistance promptly.
