How to charge the battery?

Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port (at the back) and to a 5 V / 1 A power adapter. Full charging takes about 2 to 3 hours. Before first use, fully charge the battery.

How to listen to FM radio?

Set the ON/OFF switch to ON. Turn the tuning knob (⑤) to find stations. Adjust the volume with knob (①). For better reception, extend the antenna and move closer to a window.

How to connect a device via Bluetooth?

Briefly press the Bluetooth button (②). The indicator flashes green. Enable Bluetooth on your device and select 'MADISON' from the list. A sound confirms the connection. If a previously paired device is nearby, connection is automatic.

How to use the AUX input?

Connect a 3.5 mm jack cable to the AUX IN jack (at the back) and to your audio source. Press and hold the Bluetooth button (②) to switch to AUX mode. Adjust the volume with knob (①).

The battery does not last long, what to do?

Make sure to fully charge before first use. Recharge regularly without waiting for it to be fully discharged. Never let the battery fully discharge (risk of capacity loss). If the problem persists, the battery may be worn out (not covered by warranty).

Can I use the radio while plugged into the mains?

Yes, you can use the radio while charging. Connect the USB-C cable to a power adapter. The battery charges during use.

How to turn the radio on/off?

Use the ON/OFF switch located on the back of the device. Push to ON to turn on, to OFF to turn off.

What to do if the radio does not turn on?

Check that the battery is charged by connecting the USB-C cable. Make sure the switch is set to ON. If it still does not turn on, try a different cable or power adapter.

The sound is low or distorted, how to improve it?

Check the volume with knob (①). In FM mode, reposition the antenna or move closer to a window. In Bluetooth mode, remove obstacles between the radio and your device. Try a different audio source.

How to clean the radio?

Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid products, sprays, or abrasive cloths. Never pour liquid on the device.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND DANGER WARNINGS

• All safety instructions and warnings must be adhered to. They are part of the manual and must be kept with the manual.
• The appliance is approved for operation in dry, closed rooms only. Do not operate the device nearby water, such as in bathrooms or nearby swimming pools.

CHARGING THE BATTERY

Plug the mini-USB connector of the USB charging lead into the 5V DC socket on the rear panel of the radio and the other end into a suitable USB port or a mains adaptor.

NOTE: Please shut down the power switch after you have finished using the system.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES

1. PRIOR to using the unit for the first time, please charge fully the battery
2. Charge the battery regularly after each use. Don't wait until it is discharged!
3. DON'T allow the battery to discharge completely, otherwise it will lose 20% of its capacity or even be totally damaged! If the voltage becomes too low, the internal circuits are not powered anymore and it will become impossible to recharge the battery!
4. If you don't use the unit for a longer period of time, it is recommended to charge it at 40% of its capacity and check/charge it once per month.

FM FUNCTION

Prior to using the unit for the first time, please fully charge the built-in battery. Push the ON/OFF switch ⑥ to the ON position. The unit will be set to radio mode. Press button ④ to light up the frequency dial. Rotate the frequency adjustment knob ⑤ to search a radio station. Control the volume via the dial ① . If the radio reception is not clear, move the unit near to a window or a balcony to get a stronger signal. Adjust the position of the antenna.

PAIRING THE SPEAKER WITH A BLUETOOTH ENABLED DEVICE

To use Bluetooth function, shortly press the BT key ② . A tone is heard and the Bluetooth LED indicator will flash green. Set your mobile phone or other Bluetooth enabled device to search for Bluetooth devices. When the Bluetooth device finds the radio, select "MADISON" in the list of found devices. After successful pairing, a tone will be heard and the Bluetooth LED indicator will slowly flash green.

(If a previously paired device is within the range when the speaker is turned ON, the speaker will connect to it automatically).

USING AS A WIRED SPEAKER

To use the speaker as a wired device, plug one end of the 3.5 auxiliary lead into the AUX jack on the back panel of the unit and the other end into your device or computer's headphone jack. Use the volume control ① to set the desired volume.
