Preparing plain yogurt (for 7 jars)
- Pour 1 plain yogurt into a large bowl and mix it until a liquid and homogeneous consistency is obtained.

- Divide the mixture evenly into the glass jars.
- Place the jars without their lid in the yogurt maker and then go to “Start a cycle on the appliance.”

You can flavour your yogurt. See the "Recipe Tips" section of the manual.
Start a cycle on the appliance
- Cover the yogurt maker with its clear lid.
- Plug in the yogurt maker. The display shows “-:--.”.
- You must now set the desired preparation time.
- Press the key once. The display shows "0". Use the + and - keys to set the hours (from 0 to 14).
- Press the key ⏻ a second time. The display shows "00". Use the + and - keys to set the minutes (from 0 to 59).
- Press the ⏻ key to start the program. The preparation is in progress. The two dots on the screen flash, and the remaining time scrolls back and forth on the screen.

It takes at least 9 hours with whole milk or 12 hours with skim milk to make a sufficiently firm yoghurt. However, you can vary the fermentation time according to your taste and texture preferences. The creaminess of the yogurt depends on the fermentation time and the quality of the ferments when mixing.
At the end of use
- At the end of the selected time, there is a beep sound and the screen displays “-:-”, and the appliance goes to sleep. You can also interrupt the cycle by pressing the key ⏻.
- Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and remove the transparent cover from the appliance.
- Place the yogurt jars with their lids in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before eating. You can keep yogurt in the fridge for 7 to 10 days maximum.
- When ready to eat, enjoy the yogurt to your liking: plain or adding for example sugar, jam, honey, cereals, chocolate, pieces of fruit or mixed fruit, etc.
practical tips for use
Choice of milk
- Use preferably whole milk (for a creamier result) or semi-skimmed milk. Keep in mind that skim milk makes the consistency of yogurts more fragile.
- If the milk is already sterilized (UHT), you can directly use it cold.
- If you use raw milk or pasteurized milk, you must first boil it, wait for it to cool, then remove the skins.
Choice of ferment
You can use either:
• A plain commercial yogurt,
- A plain yogurt from a previous production. The yogurt obtained can be reused up to 7 times as a ferment base. Beyond that, you must use a fresh yogurt for more active ferments.
- A freeze-dried ferment available in pharmacies or specialized stores (in this case, count 2 more hours for fermentation).
The ferments start working at a very low temperature ( 45^ C) and die above this temperature. This is why you should not boil them with milk.
Useful information about the yogurt maker
- It takes several hours for the yogurts to form. Therefore, we recommend that you prepare the yogurts in the evening. The next morning, put the yogurts in the fridge at least 2 hours before eating them.
- Condensation forms on the lid of the yogurt maker during use. This is normal. Be careful not to allow water to drip into the yogurts when removing the clear lid.
Recipe tips
- For more consistent yogurts, you can add powdered milk to the mixture (2 or 3 tablespoons for 1 litre of milk).
- To make your mixtures, use a container with a spout, which is more convenient for pouring liquids into jars.
- You can add crème fraîche (or sour cream) to the mixture to get a creamier yogurt.
- You can make savoury dressings to accompany appetizers: Greek, cucumber, garlic and herbs, basil, tarragon dressing or any other herb dressing.
- Fruit must be cooked to be incorporated into the mixture. However, when you plug in your yogurt maker, all the ingredients that make up the yogurt must be cold or at room temperature.
- Raw fresh fruit often creates too much water with worse results compared to drained cooked fruit.
- You can sweeten your yogurts when mixing them or just before eating them with honey, cane sugar, maple syrup, etc.

Whey:
It is on the surface of yogurts. It is a residual liquid rich in lactose, proteins, vitamins and minerals.
- You can drink the whey plain to enjoy its benefits.
- You can use it again during your next batch of yogurt and/or quark.
- You can reuse it when making pancakes, breads, buns, etc. to replace water or milk.
- Whey can be stored for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
cleaning and maintenance
WARNING :
Unplug the yogurt maker from the outlet before cleaning.
Never immerse the power cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
- You can place all the pieces, except the base, in the dishwasher in the upper rack.
- Otherwise, clean them with a soft sponge and warm water with dish soap. Rinse with clear water and dry carefully with a soft cloth.
- Clean the base (if necessary) with a sponge slightly moistened with warm, soapy water. Rinse with clear water and dry carefully with a soft cloth.
