How to install drivers for the i-TEC U3DUAL4KHDMI adapter?

Before plugging in the adapter, download the drivers from www.i-tec.cz/fr (Download tab) or from DisplayLink (www.displaylink.com/downloads). Under Windows 10, installation may happen automatically if connected to the Internet. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart if necessary.

What is the maximum supported resolution?

The maximum resolution is 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz (4K) for one or two monitors connected simultaneously. Make sure your HDMI cable is certified for this resolution.

Can I connect two monitors at the same time?

Yes, the adapter has 2 HDMI ports allowing you to connect up to two monitors or projectors. You can use extended, mirror, or primary monitor modes.

Does the adapter work with a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port?

Yes, thanks to the included USB 3.0 to USB-C adapter, you can plug it into a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. Note: Thunderbolt 3 is compatible under Windows 10, macOS X, and Chrome OS with Intel Broadwell R51 processor or higher.

My screen flickers when installing the second monitor. What should I do?

Temporary flickering is normal during initialization. If the problem persists, unplug the USB cable from the computer, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Also check that the drivers are up to date.

Does the adapter require an external power supply?

No, it is powered by the USB bus (up to 15 W). No power adapter is necessary. Make sure your USB port provides enough power (USB 3.0 recommended).

Which operating systems are compatible?

The adapter is compatible with Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (32/64 bit), macOS X 10.10 and later, Android, Chrome OS, and Ubuntu. For Android, Chrome OS, and Ubuntu, use the DisplayLink drivers.

For smooth Ultra HD 4K playback, your computer must have a powerful processor (Intel Core i7 2+ GHz) and 8 GB of RAM, as well as a recent graphics processor. Less powerful computers may experience slowdowns or interruptions.

What to do if the adapter is not recognized by the computer?

Thank You for purchasing i-tec USB 3.0 A/C Dual HDMI Adapter, which allows you to easily connect up to two monitors, TVs or projectors with HDMI interface to a laptop, tablet, PC or smartphone with USB-A, USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 interface. Max. resolution for two HDMI monitors is 4K@60Hz.

For Ultra HD 4K video playback the computer must be able to decode the video using its primary graphics processor. Low end laptops can be able to playback the video but the quality might be less than ideal (video interruption, screen tearing).

DRIVER INSTALLATION

Do not connect the adapter to your laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone before installing the drivers. Drivers need to be installed prior to first use. Make sure that you have updated BIOS and newest drivers for your device before the installation.

You can download drivers for the adapter from our website www.i-tec.cz/en on the page for this product in the „Download“ tab. Then you just need to confirm automatic installation.

For Android, Chrome OS and Ubuntu use the drivers from the DisplayLink chipset manufacturer. You can download them here: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads or on our website www.i-tec.cz/en on page for this product in the „Download“ tab.

You can connect the adapter directly, when using Windows 10. The drivers will be installed automatically from the system, when connected to the internet.

CONNECTING HDMI MONITOR

The adapter is equipped with 2x 4K@60Hz HDMI Port for connecting one or two monitors or projectors with HDMI interface. You can use modern plasma or LCD monitors and TVs as imaging device. It is recommended to use high quality HDMI cables with the adapter. The screen of your laptop, tablet, PC or smartphone might flicker during additional monitor installation, but this is normal.

Most problems with the adapter and connected devices can be solved by disconnecting the adapters USB 3.0 cable from the USB 3.0 port of your laptop, tablet, PC or smartphone and reconnecting it after approximately 10s.
