Frequently Asked Questions - SS-13030 Sogo

How to use the appliance to vacuum seal dry foods?
Place the bag in the vacuum chamber, close the lid, then press the Vac/Seal button. The appliance vacuums the air then seals the bag automatically. For dry foods, the Dry mode is activated by default.
How to use the moist mode?
Press the Food button to switch from dry mode (Dry) to moist mode (Moist). The corresponding indicator lights up. This mode extends the sealing time to ensure an airtight seal even in the presence of moisture.
Can I use the appliance with jars or bottles?
Yes, thanks to the supplied suction hose. Attach one end of the hose to the vacuum nozzle of the appliance and the other end to the appropriate stopper. Press the VAC button located inside the lid to vacuum seal.
What to do if the bag does not seal properly?
Check that the end of the bag is properly placed in the vacuum chamber and that the lid is closed correctly (audible click). Make sure the foam gasket is not deformed and the bag is dry. If the problem persists, cut the end and try again.
How to clean the appliance?
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wipe the exterior surface with a soft damp cloth. If food residues fall into the vacuum chamber, remove them with a paper towel. Never immerse the appliance in water.
What types of bags are compatible?
Use vacuum bags and rolls up to 30 cm wide. Compatible Sogo references are: BR-2025 (20x25 cm), BR-2230 (22x30 cm), BR-2205 (roll 22 cm x 5 m), BR-2805 (roll 28 cm x 5 m). Other brands may work if they meet the dimensions.
The appliance overheats quickly, what to do?
The appliance is equipped with an NTC temperature sensor. In case of overheating, the protection activates and the indicators flash. Let the appliance cool for 60 seconds between uses and keep the lid open to dissipate heat.
Can I use extension cords?
An extension cord is not recommended. If you must use one, ensure its rated power is at least equal to that of the appliance (110 W) and that it is properly unwound.
How long can I store vacuum-sealed foods?
Vacuum sealing considerably extends the storage life. For example, red meat can be stored 8-9 days in the refrigerator compared to 2-3 days without vacuum, and up to 12 months in the freezer. Consult the storage chart in the manual for more details.
What to do if the foam gasket is damaged?
A damaged foam gasket can cause air leaks. Contact Sogo after-sales service (sogosat@sogosat.com) to obtain a replacement part. Do not use the appliance without a gasket in good condition.

THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE USING THE VACUUM SEALER

  • Do not overfill the bag. Always leave at least 6-8 cm gap between the bag contents and the top of the bag.
  • Make sure the bag is dry. It will be difficult to make a perfect seal if the bag is wet.
  • For best results, perishables still need to be frozen or refrigerated after vacuum sealing.
  • Clean the opening end of the bag inside and outside. Flatten the bag opening.
  • When vacuuming a large item, to prevent wrinkles in the seal, gently stretch the bag and make it flat before placing it into the vacuum chamber.
  • When vacuum sealing items with sharp edges (such as dry spaghetti, silverware, etc.), protect the bag from punctures by wrapping the item in soft cushioning material, such as a paper towel, or use a canister instead of a bag.
  • When using canisters, always leave 2.5 cm / 1 inch of space at the top of the canister.
  • Allow the appliance to cool for 60 seconds between uses to avoid activating overheating protection and to ensure the long life of the appliance.
  • If you are not sure whether your bag was sealed properly, simply reseal the bag.
  • For best results, use bags and canisters produced by the manufacturer.
  • Microwave: Do not heat sealed food in the microwave.
