USER MANUAL MF 2215AS Melchioni

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the rated voltage indicated on the technical data plate on the fan corresponds to the mains voltage.
2. Never immerse any part of the appliance in water or other liquids.
3. Remove all packaging and do not leave packaging materials such as plastic bags, styrofoam and rubber bands within reach of children as they may cause serious injury.
4. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
5. Children has not to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
6. Use fan only for intended use, as described in instruction manual.
7. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse unit, plug, or cord in water or spray with liquids.
8. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
9. Unplug from outlet when not in use, when moving fan from one location to another, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
10. Never insert fingers, pencils or any other objects through the grille when fan is running.
11. Disconnect fan before cleaning.
12. Make sure fan is on a stable surface when operating to avoid chance of overturning.
13. Do not use fan in a window. Rain may cause an electrical hazard.
14. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
15. Do not place fan or any parts near an open flame, cooking or other heating appliances.
16. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
17. Do not let cord hang over table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
18. To disconnect, grip plug and pull from wall outlet. Never yank on cord.
19. Always use on a dry surface.
20. This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
21. Do not use fan near curtains, plants, window treatments, etc.
22. During the first few minutes of initial use, a slight odor may be noticeable. This is normal and will quickly disappear.
23. This appliance is intended for domestic or similar use only, such as:
24. shops, offices and other similar workplaces;

25. farms or similar;

26. customers of hotels, motels and other residential environments;

27. bed and breakfast type environments.

28. This appliance cannot be used for commercial or professional purposes.

29. Do not use the appliance outdoors or in areas exposed to humidity, such as cellars or garages.
30. Do not install the blades closer than 2.3m from the floor

B. POWER CORD SAFETY TIPS

1. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
2. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
3. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
4. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
5. Before each use, inspect the power cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the power cord replaced. Please return it to our Service Department or to an authorized service representative.
6. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could cause the appliance to fray and break.
7. Do not operate appliance if the power cord shows any damage, or works intermittently and stops working.

D. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Unpack the fan and verify that all components and parts are complete and in good condition.
2. Check the nameplate data on the motor head (11) to verify that the voltage and frequency are suitable for local use.
3. Insert the top cap (3) into the bar (1).
4. Insert the lower cap (5) into the bar (1).
5. Pass the electrical cables (2) through the bar (1) and connect them to the cable terminal block (10).
6. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE FAN GROUND CABLE IS CORRECTLY CONNECTED WITH THE GROUND WIRE.
7. Insert the bar (1) into the hook (8) and secure it with the bolt (6) and slide pin (7). Make sure you tighten the nut (15).
8. Fasten the lower cap (5) to the bar (1) with the screws (14).
9. Firmly secure the blades (13) to the motor head (11) using screws and washers (12). Remember to put the shock absorber (16) under the blade to avoid vibrations.
10. Hang the fan on the hook of the hook (FIG.1)
11. Connect the cables (2) to the power supply (220 - 240V 50Hz) and the earth wire.
12. Fix the upper cap (3) on the upper end of the bar (1) using the fixing screws (4).

E. INSTALLING THE SPEED REGULATOR

1. Remove the regulator cover.

2. Connect the cables through the entry hole according to the diagram in FIG.3.

3. Mount the controller on a wall or wooden base.

If the power cord is damaged, it should be repaired by right technician or be sent to the assigned location

F. HOOK INSTALLATION (NOT INCLUDED)

Check that the wall where you want to install the fan satisfies the safety requirements and that the distance from a socket allows for electrical connection.

Avoid positions that would not allow the oscillating movement of the appliance

ATTENTION:

A. Make sure the hook can support a load of no less than 25kg
B. Do not use non-metallic junction boxes.
C. Do not use lubricant on the single mounting screw.

1. Drill a pilot hole in the ceiling to facilitate hook installation. Make sure the pilot hole is no larger than the minor diameter of the mounting screw threads.
2. Install the hanger in the ceiling pilot hole with at least 4cm of the mounting screw threads that fasten into a structural timber joist to provide secure mounting. Leave a 3cm gap between the hook tip and the ceiling as shown in FIG. 1.
3. Install the junction box on the ceiling.

ATTENTION:

1. Do not install the blades closer than 2.3m from the floor
2. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or with a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been supervised or instructed in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

G. HELPFUL TIPS

A. IMPORTANT

1. For greater safety and in order to obtain better results, we recommend having the fan installed by a qualified electrician.
2. If the fan is mounted on an electrical box, first add a support: the weight of the fan and the movement could cause damage.
3. At the lowest speed, the fan may make a slight noise. Not to worry, it is an electrical noise caused by the reduction of the watts passing through the capacitor.
4. The motor gives off a burning smell: this is caused by the paint on the windings and will gradually disappear. The smell can persist for eight hours.

B. IF THE FAN DOES NOT START:

• check the electrical circuit and make sure that all connections are correct
• check the condenser and speed control

If the parts do not allow an adequate flow of current, ask for support from the manufacturer's technical assistance.

C. IF THE FAN MOVES BY 2 CENTIMETERS OR MORE

The blades and supports are asymmetrical or curved due to transport:

• adjust the blades and supports.
• Leave the fan running for a few hours. If the displacement does not correct, swap 2 neighboring blades

• even if it's unlikely, it could happen. In this case the engine will be replaced.

H.CARE AND CLEANING

This appliance requires little maintenance and contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to fix it yourself. Refer it to qualified service personnel if servicing is needed.

The fan is permanently lubricated and will not require additional lubrication for the life of the fan.

TO CLEAN: Before cleaning, turn fan off and unplug from electrical outlet. Wipe off excess dust with a lint-free cloth. To ensure adequate air circulation to the motor, keep vents located at the rear of the motor housing free from dust accumulation. A vacuum cleaner hose can be used to clean these vents. Do not immerse fan in water or any other liquid.

TO STORE: Make sure to disassemble and clean the fan before storing. Retain the original packaging for the purpose of storing the fan. Always store fan in a dry place. Never store it while it is still plugged in. Never wrap the cord tightly around the fan, and do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the fan housing, as it could cause the cord to fry and break.

The producer Melchioni Spa declares that the product Ceiling fan-Model MF 2215AS (Cod. 118620048) is in compliance with Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 21 octber 2009, establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.

The producer Melchioni Spa declares that the product Ceiling fan-Model MF 2215AS (Cod. 118620048) is in compliance with Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 8 June 2011 and subsequent Commission Delegated Directive 2015/863, on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

According to Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 4 july 2012, on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), the presence of the crossed-out bin symbol indicates that this appliance is not to be considered as urban waste: its disposal must therefore be carried out by separate collection. Disposal in a non-separate manner may constitute a potential harm to the environment and health. This product can be returned to the distributor when purchasing a new device. M. WARRANTY

Melchioni Spa, based in Milan (Italy), via Colletta 37, recognizes a conventional guarantee on the product for a period of two years from the date of the first purchase by the consumer. This guarantee does not affect the validity of the legislation in force concerning consumer goods (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 n. 206 art. 128 and following), of which the consumer remains the owner. This guarantee applies to the entire territory of the European Union.

The components or parts that are found to be defective for ascertained manufacturing causes will be repaired or replaced free of charge through the dealer, during the above warranty period. Melchioni Spa reserves the right to make a complete replacement of the device, if repairability is impossible or excessively expensive, with another device of similar characteristics (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 no. 206 art. 130) during the warranty period. In this case, the validity of the warranty remains that of the original purchase: the service provided under warranty does not extend the warranty period. In any case, this appliance will not be considered defective in terms of materials or manufacture should it

be adapted, changed or adjusted, in order to comply with national or local safety and / or technical standards, in force in a country other than the one for which it is was originally designed and manufactured. This appliance has been designed and built for domestic use only: any other use will invalidate the benefits of the guarantee.

The warranty does not cover:

• parts subject to wear or tear, nor those parts that require periodic replacement and / or maintenance
• professional use of the product
• malfunctions or any defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, software / BIOS / firmware update not performed by authorized Melchioni Spa
• repairs or interventions carried out by persons not authorized by Melchioni Spa
• manipulation of assembly components or, where applicable, of the software
• defects caused by falls or transport, lightning strikes, power surges, liquid infiltrations, opening of the appliance, bad weather, fire, public disturbances, inadequate ventilation or incorrect power supply
• any accessories, for example: boxes, bags, batteries, etc. used with this product
• home interventions for convenience checks or presumed defects

The recognition of the guarantee by Melchioni Spa is subject to the presentation of a tax document that proves the actual date of purchase. The same must not show any tampering or deletions, in the presence of which Melchioni Spa reserves the right to refuse the provision of treatment under warranty.

The warranty will not be recognized if the serial number or model of the appliance is non-existent, abraded or modified.

This warranty does not include any right to compensation for direct or indirect damage, of any nature, to people or things, caused by any inefficiency of the appliance. Any extensions, promises or services in this regard, insured by the retailer, will be borne by the latter
