Before using your barbecue, read the following instructions carefully. They contain important notes for the use, safety and maintenance of the appliance.

CONNECTION TO THE MAINS SUPPLY

The equipment should only be connected to an earth socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the barbecue.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
2. During operation, the barbecue must be placed on a level, heat-resistant surfaces, impervious to splashes and stains. When grilling food with a high fat or moisture content, splashes are not always avoidable.
3. When using the appliance, be careful not to position it next to a wall or corner, and ensure that no inflammable materials are stored near it.
4. Remember that the food with a high fat or moisture content may tend to ignite.
5. Always fill the grill pan with water before you switch on the appliance. The water helps to cool down the grill pan, reduces the build-up of smoke, and also facilitates cleaning.
6. Ensure that the water level is kept between the 'Min 0.4L' and 'Max 1L' markings at all times during use.

The water level indicator can be found inside the body

1. Always ensure that the water level is kept above the 'Min 0.4L' mark. Water should be added in good time, while ensuring that it does not come into contact with the heating element. Take care: do not pour water on the heating element.
2. Before the grill is used, always check that the heating element is correctly fitted in the body and safely locked. Do not connect the grill to mains power until the body has been filled with water.
3. The barbecue must be supervised at all times during operation. For reasons of safety, always keep it out of the reach of children.
4. Do not, under any circumstances, use charcoal or any other solid or liquid fuel to operate the grill.

5. Always bear in mind that the housing surfaces as well as the heating element become very hot during operation. Even after the heating element is switched off, it must not be touched until it has sufficiently cooled down-there is otherwise a severe danger of burns.

6. To avoid the risk of electric shock, the heating element and the power cord must not be immersed in liquid or even allowed to come into contact with it.

7. Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot parts of the appliance.
8. Always remove the plug from the mains supply socket in the case of any malfunction, before cleaning and maintenance and after use.
9. The use of an extension-lead reel causes a loss of power, possibly combined with a subsequent heat built-up in the cable. It is therefore necessary to unwind the cable completely if a cable reel is used.
10. Before carrying, transporting or storing the grill, ensure that is has sufficiently cooled down. Pour out any remaining water after use.
11. Ensure that the grill is not stored outdoors. Or in any other location where it might be subjected to extremes of temperature or high humidity.
12. No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
13. This barbecue is designed for household use only and not for commercial applications.
14. In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, all repairs of electrical appliances must only be performed by qualified personnel. Substantial dangers for the user can appear from inappropriate repairs.
15. Should the barbecue fail to operate or should it be damaged, please contact the nearest authorized service centre as special tools are needed for its repair. Never attempt to repair the barbecue yourself.

17. WARNING: Never put the heating element, control box and the plug into water.
18. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning used of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
19. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
20. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
21. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
22. WARNING: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
23. WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
24. WARNING: Silver paper must not be used with this appliance.
25. WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, this appliance shall not be covered by any solid or flexible material such as an aluminum tray, aluminum foil or trays made of other heat resistant material. The use of such items or materials on the grille would impair the safety of your product and could lead to serious damage.
26. The appliance must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA.
27. Warning: For indoor use only.
28. Caution: This product is not suitable for outdoor use or storage no matter that with/without the stand/support, otherwise will cause hazard situations.

ASSEMBLE THE GRILL AS THE CHART

Assemble the wind shield according to the schematic diagram supplied (in models where provided), and then fix the zinc on the body. Ensure that the grill is placed in a safe and stable position. The power cord should be placed suitably in order that no one is likely to trip over it.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove any packaging materials from the appliance.
2. Clean the grill rack and its accessories.
3. Fasten 4pcs of plastic foot on the back side of body. see pic. No.2 above.
4. Fill the body with water up to the '1 L.' marking.
5. The barbecue assembly:

a. Insert the straight metal pipe through 2 holes of zinc plate and body on two sides.

b. Use M4 nut to fasten the zinc plate in the front holes of body (next to the electric junction box) by the longest screw fixed.see pic.No.5 up

1. Place the two rubber sockets onto the left &right sides of the straight metal pipe to avoid the overheat.see pic. No.A up.

2. Insert heating element above zinc plate and guarantee its bottom hole connected with metal hook.see pic. No.B up.

STAND ASSEMBLY

1. Fix part A1 into A2 as above picture
2. Using Screw M5 to fix through A3&A3 together with the party did from above process, then using A5 for fixing.
3. Finishing all assembling with all other 3pcs of stands as above process, finally completing with fittings as above picture.
4. Fix up the finished BBQ unit as instruction 'BBQ assembly" on top of above stand party A8.See picture above.
5. Let the grill heat up for a moment without any food on the rack. This will reduce the smell when first switching on a new grill (a slight smell and a little smoke may be emitted, ensure sufficient ventilation).

HOW TO USE YOUR BARBECUE

1. Insert the plug into the mains supply socket.
2. Set the thermostat control knob to its 'Max.' position. The indicator light turns on, and the heating element is permanently switched on.
3. When it is first switched on, the grill may emit a new smell. A small amount of smoke may also be noticeable. We therefore recommend you to heat up the barbecue for about 5 minutes without any food stuffs.
4. After approximately 5-10 minutes, the heating element reaches the right temperature for grilling. When you grilling the food stuffs, you can turn the thermostat control knob back to a lower position and/or

adjust the grill rack to the middle or upper position.

1. The grill can also be used to keep the food warm: turn the thermostat control knob to a lower position, the heating element will be switched on and off alternatively, and thus the food can be kept warm.
2. The water in the body will evaporate during use. So you must to fill up water in time. Take care of the min0.4L. and max1L. water level marks. Be careful not to pour water on the heating element.
3. When grilling is finished, turn the thermostat to "0" and disconnect the grill from the mains supply socket.

REGARDING THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING THANKS TO REFER TO THE BELOW PARAGRAPH OF THE MANUAL

1. Ensure that the grill is thoroughly cleaned after use.
2. Before cleaning your barbecue, always make sure that the plug has been disconnected from the mains supply socket. Allow the grill to cool down thoroughly before cleaning.
3. Never switch the heating element on when it is not placed onto the appliance.
4. Through away water in the body firstly
5. Clean the heating element with a clean and dry cloth only.
6. Clean the grill rack and the grill pan with warm soapy water and dry afterwards.
7. Don't use harsh abrasive cleanser or a metal sponge to clean the grill rack and the grill pan.
8. After cleaning, the grill should be stored indoors in a dry location.

BBQ2 (Code 118330032) is in compliance with Directive 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 26 february 2014, on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits.

The producer Melchioni Spa declares that the product Grill barbecue 2000W Mod. BBQ2 (Code 118330032) is in compliance with Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 21 october 2009, establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.

The producer Melchioni Spa declares that the product Grill barbecue 2000W Mod. BBQ2 (Code 118330032) is in compliance with Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 8 june 2011 and subsequent Commission Delegated Directive 2015/863, on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

According to Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 4 July 2012, on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), the presence of the crossed-out bin symbol indicates that this appliance is not to be considered as urban waste: its disposal must therefore be carried out by separate collection. Disposal in a non-separate manner may constitute a potential harm to the environment and health. This product can be returned to the distributor when purchasing a new device. Improper disposal of the appliance constitutes misconduct and is subject to sanctions by the Public

Security Authority. For further information, contact the local administration responsible for environmental matters.

WARRANTY

Melchioni Spa, based in Milan (Italy), via Colletta 37, recognizes a conventional guarantee on the product for a period of two years from the date of the first purchase by the consumer. This guarantee does not affect the validity of the legislation in force concerning consumer goods (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 n. 206 art. 128 and following), of which the consumer remains the owner. This guarantee applies to the entire territory of the European Union.

The components or parts that are found to be defective for ascertained manufacturing causes will be repaired or replaced free of charge through the dealer, during the above warranty period. Melchioni Spa reserves the right to make a complete replacement of the device, if repairability is impossible or excessively expensive, with another device of similar characteristics (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 no. 206 art. 130) during the warranty period. In this case, the validity of the warranty remains that of the original purchase: the service provided under warranty does not extend the warranty period.

In any case, this appliance will not be considered defective in terms of materials or manufacture should it be adapted, changed or adjusted, in order to comply with national or local safety and / or technical standards, in force in a country other than the one for which it is was originally designed and manufactured. This appliance has been designed and built for domestic use only: any other use will invalidate the benefits of the guarantee.

The warranty does not cover:

• parts subject to wear or tear, nor those parts that require periodic replacement and / or maintenance
  • professional use of the product
• malfunctions or any defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, software / BIOS / firmware update not performed by authorized Melchioni Spa
  • repairs or interventions carried out by persons not authorized by Melchioni Spa
• manipulation of assembly components or, where applicable, of the software
  • defects caused by falls or transport, lightning strikes, power surges, liquid infiltrations, opening of the appliance, bad weather, fire, public disturbances, inadequate ventilation or incorrect power supply
• any accessories, for example: boxes, bags, batteries, etc. used with this product
  • home interventions for convenience checks or presumed defects

The recognition of the guarantee by Melchioni Spa is subject to the presentation of a tax document that proves the actual date of purchase. The same must not show any tampering or deletions, in the presence of which Melchioni Spa reserves the right to refuse the provision of treatment under warranty.

The warranty will not be recognized if the serial number or model of the appliance is non-existent, abraded or modified.

This warranty does not include any right to compensation for direct or indirect damage, of any nature, to people or things, caused by any inefficiency of the appliance. Any extensions, promises or services in this regard, insured by the retailer, will be borne by the latter
