How to set the time manually on the WT 245?

How to activate the DCF77 radio-controlled reception?

Initial operation

  • Open the cover from the clocks battery compartment.
  • Insert 2 x AA batteries into the battery compartment while observing polarity (“+” and “−” marks).
  • Close the cover on the battery compartment again.
  • When you insert the batteries, all segments of the LCD display will light up for 3 seconds, you will hear a beep tone and the clock starts to measure the indoor temperature.
  • Then the clock will enter the radio controlled time signal reception mode.

Reception of the DCF-77 signal

  • The clock automatically starts the DCF-77 signal search after any restart or changing of new fresh batteries. The radio mast icon starts to flash.
  • At 2:00 AM, the clock automatically carries out the synchronization procedure with the DCF

signal to correct any deviations to the exact time. If this synchronization attempt is unsuccessful (the radio mast icon disappears from the display), the system will automatically attempt synchronization at the next full hour. This procedure is repeated automatically up to total 5 times.

- To start manual DCF-77 signal reception, press and hold down the “-” button for 3 seconds. If no signals received within 7 minutes, then the DCF-77 signal search stops (the radio mast icon disappears) and start again at the next full one hour.

Notes:

  • A flashing radio mast icon indicates that the DCF-77 signal reception has started
  • A continuously displayed radio mast icon indicates that the DCF-77 signal was received successfully
  • We recommend a minimum distance of 2.5 meters to all sources of interference, such as televisions or computer monitors
  • Radio reception is weaker in rooms with concrete walls (e.g.: in cellars) and in offices. In such extreme circumstances, place the system close to the window.
  • During the time signal reception mode, press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button to stop time signal reception mode

Manual time setting:

  • Press the “TIME SET” button to enter time setting mode and “dcf ON” blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set DCF reception off with OFF or set DCF on with ON.
  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting and “TZ 0” blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set a time zone difference from -11 to +12. For example, set 0 for Germany or -1 for the UK.

  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting and the hour of the current time blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the hour.

  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting and the minutes of the current time blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the minute.
  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting and the seconds of the current time blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the seconds to 00.
  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting, Yr is displayed and the currently set year blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the year.
  • Press the “TIME SET” button to confirm your setting and the month blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the month.

Alarm time setting:

  • Press the “ALARM SET” button to enter alarm setting mode and the alarm time of ALARM-1 blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the alarm time of ALARM-1.
  • Press the “ALARM SET” button to confirm your setting and the alarm time of ALARM-2 blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the alarm time of ALARM-2.
  • Press the “ALARM SET” button to confirm your setting and the alarm time of ALARM-3 blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the alarm time of ALARM-3.
  • Press the “ALARM SET” button to confirm your setting and the alarm time of ALARM-4 blinks on the display. Press the “+” or “-” button to set the alarm time of ALARM-4.
  • Press the “ALARM SET” button to confirm and end your setting. The clock goes back to normal time display.

Alarm setting switches:

  • On the side of the clock there are 4 ALARM ON/OFF-switches for ALARM-1, ALARM-2, ALARM-3 and ALARM-4.
  • Slide an “ALARM ON/OFF” switch to the ON position and the corresponding alarm will be activated. As long as the alarm is activated, the corresponding alarm bell symbol with the

number of the alarm will be displayed with the alarm time.

- Slide the same “ALARM ON/OFF” switch to the OFF position, the corresponding alarm is deactivated and the alarm bell symbol is no longer displayed.

Notes:

  • Any combination of alarms can be set on or off at the same time.
  • The alarm tone will sound, when the time of the clock reaches an activated alarm time.
  • When the alarm sound is active, press any button except the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button to end the alarm. The alarm will automatically sound again on the next day.
  • Slide the "ALARM ON/OFF" switch to OFF to end and deactivate the alarm. The alarm will not sound again.
  • The alarm tone will automatically stop after 2 minutes if no button is pressed.

Snooze function:

  • Press the “SNOOZE/LIGHT” button during the active alarm tone to silence the alarm and enter snooze mode. The “Zz” icon flashes on the display during snooze mode and the alarm will sound again after 5 minutes.
  • Press any buttons to stop the alarm and or slide the “ALARM ON/OFF” switch to OFF to stop and deactivate the alarm.

The clock obtains the accurate time with wireless technology. Same as all wireless devices, the reception is maybe affected by the following circumstances:

  • long transmitting distance
    • nearby mountains and valleys
  • near freeway, railway, airports, high voltage cable etc.
  • near construction site

    • inside concrete buildings
    • near electrical appliances (computers, TV's, etc) and metallic structures
    • inside moving vehicles
