The STENKOL charger is designed for rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries in AA (HR6) and AAA (HR03) sizes. Batteries must have a minimum capacity of 1000 mAh (AA) or 500 mAh (AAA). Only use rechargeable batteries.

How many batteries can I charge at once?

The charger has 4 independent slots. You can charge 1 to 4 AA or AAA batteries, or a mix of both. Each slot manages charging individually.

What do the different LED colors mean?

The LEDs indicate the charging status of each slot: flashing white = charging; solid white = charge complete; flashing red = error (non-rechargeable, damaged, or overheating battery).

How long does it take to charge batteries?

Charging time depends on battery capacity, remaining charge, age, and ambient temperature. As a guideline, an AA LADDA (2450 mAh) battery may take about 4 to 5 hours. The charger adjusts current according to the number of batteries.

Can I use non-rechargeable batteries in this charger?

No. Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. The charger automatically detects such batteries and shows a flashing red LED to warn you. Failure to comply may result in risk of injury or electric shock.

Is the charger safe to use?

Yes, the charger incorporates multiple safety features: negative/zero delta voltage detection for charge termination, independent timer and temperature sensor. It is certified UL, CSA, and complies with FCC Class B. However, use it indoors only.

Is the charger suitable for outdoor use?

How to clean the charger?

What should I do if the red LED flashes?

The flashing red LED indicates an error: non-rechargeable, damaged, or overheating battery. Immediately remove the battery and inspect it. If the problem persists, contact your IKEA store. Do not attempt to repair the charger yourself.

How should I recycle the charger at end of life?

Charger features

• Charge 1 to 4 pieces of HR6/AA and/or 1 to 4 pieces of HR03/AAA rechargeable batteries.

Operating instructions

• Insert the batteries into the charging slots correctly according to the polarity indications (+/-) see pic 1.
• Connect the charger into the power outlet.

• The LED indicator status:
White LED pulsing on: Charging in progress.
White LED steady on: Charging complete.
Red LED flashing: Error.

- The red LED error indicator will flash if non-rechargeable batteries, damaged batteries are inserted into the charger by mistake or connected batteries are too hot.

Good to know

• Brand new batteries need 2 to 3 times of charging and usage cycles to optimize the battery performance.
• It is normal for batteries to become hot during charging and they will gradually cool down after charging.
