2. Intended purpose
The electric toothbrush is intended solely for tooth cleaning and oral hygiene in humans. The device is designed for private, domestic use. This device must not be used for commercial purposes.
3. Safety information
Warnings
If necessary, the following warnings are used in this copy of the user instructions:

Instructions for safe operation
- This device can be used by children and people with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or people without adequate experience and/or understanding, if they are supervised or instructed on how to use this device and if they are aware of the resulting hazards. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are supervised.
Children must not play with the device.

The battery charger is connected to the power voltage, and must therefore not be used in the shower, in the bath, or over washbasins filled with water.

The mains power cable of this device cannot be replaced. If the cable should become damaged, the device itself must be disposed of.
- The battery must be charged only with the original accessory (battery charger) supplied.

DANGER for children
- Packing materials are not children's toys. Children should not be allowed to play with the plastic bags: there is a risk of suffocation.

DANGER to and from pets and livestock
- Electrical devices can represent a danger to pets and livestock. In addition, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this reason you should keep animals away from electrical devices at all times.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture
The toothbrush, the battery charger, the mains power cable and the mains plug must never be immersed in water or any other liquids.
Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water splashes: failure to observe this instruction may result in an electrical shock hazard.
- Never touch the device with wet hands.
Make sure that the surface under the device is dry. - If the battery charger has fallen into water, pull out the mains plug immediately, and only then remove the battery charger from the water.
If this happens, do not use the battery charger again until it has been checked by a specialist workshop.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock
The installation of a residual current device with a nominal trip current not exceeding 30mA in the building wiring offers additional protection. Contact a skilled electrician in this regard.
Do not start using the device if the device, the battery charger or the mains power cable shows visible damage, or if the device has previously been dropped.
- Only connect the mains plug into a properly installed and easily accessible wall socket whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
The hand unit of the toothbrush must only be charged using the battery charger supplied. - Ensure that the mains power cable cannot be caught or crushed, and that they cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot points.
To fully disconnect the battery charger from the power, pull out the mains plug. - When pulling the mains plug out of the wall socket, always pull by the plug and never by the cable.
- Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket ...
- ...if there is a fault,
- ...when you are not using the device,
- ...before you clean the device and
- ...during thunderstorms.
In order to avoid any hazards, do not make modifications to the device. Repairs must be carried out by a specialist workshop or the Service Centre. - When using an extension cable, this must correspond to the applicable safety regulations.

DANGER from batteries
Protect the battery against mechanical damages. Fire hazard!
Do not expose the device to direct sunshine or heat. The ambient temperature should not be lower than 10^ or higher than 40^ .
The battery must be charged only with the original accessory (battery charger) supplied.
CAUTION
Users could possibly experience mild bleeding of the gums during the first days of electric toothbrush usage. Should the bleeding continue over several days, a dentist should be consulted.
Exert only light pressure when brushing to prevent damage to the gums and to increase the service life of the bristles.

5. Setting up the battery charger

DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture!
The battery charger 16 is connected to the power voltage, and must therefore not be used in the shower, in the bath, or over washbasins filled with water.
- Never set up the battery charger 16 anywhere it could fall into water.
6. Charging the battery
NOTES:
- Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
It takes approx. 16 hours to fully charge the battery. -
Place the toothbrush 11 on the peg of the battery charger 15 after use. This ensures that the toothbrush 11 always works at full power. The battery is not damaged by regular charging.

Plug the mains plug 17 of the battery charger 16 into a suitable wall socket. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after connection.
- Place the switched-off toothbrush 11 onto the peg of the battery charger 15. The charging indicator light 10 flashes white throughout the entire charging process. Lit segments of the charging indicator light show the progress of the charging process. When the battery is fully charged, first all segments of the charging indicator light 10 are lit, and then they go out.

Toothbrush 11 on the battery charger 16:
- All segments of the charging indicator light 10 are lit white and then go out: the battery is fully charged.
One or two segments of the charging indicator light 10 briefly light up white: the battery is being charged.
Toothbrush 11 switched on:
- The charging indicator light 10 flashes red: the battery is weak. Charge the battery.
7. Toothbrush heads
The items supplied include 6 toothbrush heads 4.
The various marking rings 5 allow you to assign the toothbrush heads 4 to different family members.
Take a toothbrush head 4 and slide it onto the peg of the toothbrush 6.
- In order to remove, carefully pull the toothbrush head 4 off upwards.
- The indicator bristles 3 on the brush head 2 slowly lose their colour during use. The decolouration shows when the toothbrush heads 4 should be replaced.
NOTE: we recommend that you replace the toothbrush heads 4 every 3 months or after infections (see "Ordering toothbrush heads" on page 11).
8. Operation
CAUTION:
Users could possibly experience mild bleeding of the gums during the first days of electric toothbrush usage. Should the bleeding continue over several days, a dentist should be consulted.
- If you have had dental surgery in the last two months, consult a dentist before using the toothbrush.
Exert only light pressure when brushing to prevent damage to the gums and to increase the service life of the bristles.
8.1 Modes
The toothbrush 11 has 4 different modes. Depending on the desired mode, press the on/off switch 08 repeatedly when switched on, until the corresponding symbol is lit:
Normal mode
- for cleaning teeth with high pulsation
Sensitive mode /
- gentle brushing for cleaning teeth with sensitive gums
NOTE: if you are not used to using an electric toothbrush and you have comparatively sensitive gums, you can use this mode for the first 1 to 2 weeks, and then switch to Normal mode later.
Massage mode ≈
- pulsating brushing to massage your gums
Brighten mode
- pulsating brushing to brighten your teeth
8.2 Brushing teeth
- Remove the toothbrush 11 from the battery charger 16.
- Switch on the toothbrush using the on/off switch 08.
- Press on/off switch 8 repeatedly until the function display 9 for the desired mode is lit.
NOTE: switching over to another mode must be done quickly after the last button press of the on/off switch ① 8 (within approx.
1 second). Pressing the on/off switch 08 approx. 2 seconds after the last button press will switch the toothbrush off.
- Switch off the toothbrush using the on/off switch 8.
- Moisten the bristles, apply some toothpaste, and only switch on the toothbrush 11 again when the brush head 2 is already in your mouth.
- Slowly guide the brush head 2 from tooth to tooth without exerting too much pressure. Carefully clean all tooth surfaces, the inner surfaces of the teeth and the tooth edges.
Figure A: the recommended brushing time is at least 2 minutes, divided up into 30-second periods for each area of the mouth (bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left). The toothbrush 11 indicates these intervals by two brief interruptions.
NOTE: if the brush head 2 is pressed against the teeth too hard, the LED 7 lights up red.
You should then reduce the pressure.
- Switch off the toothbrush using the on/off switch ① 8. Remove the brush head 2 from the mouth only when the toothbrush 11 has been switched off.
NOTES:
- We recommend that you replace the toothbrush heads 4 every 3 months or after infections (see "Ordering tooth-brush heads" on page 11).
- The indicator bristles 3 on the brush head 2 slowly lose their colour during use. The decolouration shows when the toothbrush heads 4 should be replaced.
9. Transport when traveling
9.1 Transport lock
To secure the toothbrush 11 against accidentally being switched on, activate the transport lock.
- Switching on the transport lock: Hold down the on/off switch ① 8 until the LED 7 flashes red three times.
- If you try to switch on the tooth-brush 11 with the transport lock activated, the LED 7 will flash red.
- Switching off the transport lock: Hold down the on/off switch ① 8 until the LED 7 flashes red three times.
9.2 Protective cap for the brush head
- For transport, push the protective cap 1 over the brush head 2, which should be dry if possible.
- If the brush head 2 has to be transported when it is still damp, remove the protective cap 1 as quickly as possible after you have transported the tooth-brush and allow the brush head 2 to dry.
9.3 Travel case
The travel case 18 has space for the toothbrush 11 and 2 toothbrush heads 4.
- Open the travel case 18 by pressing on the pressure cap 19.
- Close the travel case 18 by carefully pressing the lid down until it audibly clicks into place.
10. Cleaning / Hygiene requirements

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
Before cleaning the battery charger 16, pull the mains plug 17 out from the mains socket.
Do not immerse the toothbrush 11 and battery charger 16 in water! The battery charger 16 must be completely dry before you reconnect it to the wall socket.
To ensure the hygienic functionality of the toothbrush heads 4 they must be rinsed thoroughly after every use and allowed to dry.
- Remove the toothbrush head 4 once per week and clean it in hot water.
- Rinse the toothbrush 11 as well and wipe it dry.
- Wipe the battery charger 16 and the travel case 18 with a damp cloth if necessary and rub dry.
- Figure B: if required, press the battery charger 16 out of the stand 14. You can clean the stand separately. After drying, press the battery charger 16 into the stand until it clicks into place.
11. Storage
- Disconnect the device from the mains and store it in a dry location.
12. Disposal
This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the

product requires separate refuse collection in the European Union. This applies to the product and all accessories marked with this symbol. Products marked as such may not be discarded with normal domestic waste, but must be taken to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic devices.
This recycling symbol marks e.g. an object or parts of the material as valuable for recycling. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and protect the environment.

The battery integrated into this device must not be treated as household waste. The device with the installed battery must be disposed of properly. When disposing of this device, the waste disposal facility responsible must be informed that the device contains an integrated battery.
Packaging
When disposing of the packaging, make sure you comply with the environmental regulations applicable in your country.
13. Trouble-shooting
If your device fails to function as required, please try this checklist first. Perhaps there is only a minor problem, and you can solve it yourself.

16. Warranty of the HOYER Handel GmbH
Dear Customer, your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.
If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us - at our discretion - free of charge to you, or the purchase price will be refunded. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.
Warranty coverage
The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery.
The warranty applies to material or factory defects.
Excluded from the warranty are wear parts subject to normal wear and damages to fragile parts, e.g. switches, batteries, lamps or other parts manufactured from glass.

The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.
