WHEN USING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MUST ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER TO REDUCE RISKS OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCKS AND INJURY, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

Our appliances are subject to change and some parts may appear different from the ones shown here, without this affecting the text of the manual in any way.

1. Read this manual carefully before performing any operation (installation, maintenance, use) and follow the instructions contained in each chapter.

2. Keep the manual carefully for future reference.

3. After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is in perfect condition. The packaging materials must not be left within reach of children as they can be dangerous.

5. The manufacturer reserves the right to make any changes it deems advisable to its models, although the essential features described in this manual remain the same.

Before connecting, make sure that the plate data corresponds with the mains electrical supply.

The data plate is located on the appliance.

1. Install it according to the manufacturer's instructions An incorrect installation can cause damage to people, animals or property for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility.

2. Always and only use it in a vertical position.

3. Always unreel the cable completely during use.
4. The appliance is equipped with a power cord with plug (Y-type connection). If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, his technical service or a similarly qualified person in order to eliminate all possible risks.

1. Install it in such a way that the switches and other controls cannot be reached by persons using the bath or shower.

2. Do not use extensions, if not with particular care.

3. Keep the appliance at a distance of at least 50cm from other objects.

2. Do not use this heater with programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on automatically since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

3. This heater is intended for floor use only. Do not mount on ceiling or walls.

4. Do not operate the heater near curtains, as the material could be sucked into the air vents.

1. It is forbidden to dispose of or leave in the reach of children the packaging materials which could become a source of danger.

1. It is forbidden for the appliance to be used by children or unassisted disabled persons.

The appliance may be used by children over 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensorial or mental capacities, or without the required experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved.

1. For correct use of the appliance NEVER:

a. Place it immediately underneath a mains wall socket.

b. Pull the power cable or the appliance itself to remove the plug from the mains socket.

c. Leave it expose to atmospheric agents (rain, sun, etc.).

d. Leave it plugged in when not in use.

e. Touch it with wet or damp hands.

1. Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

1. The most common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning air vents and grilles.

2. Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Clean with a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only. Always remove plug from the mains supply before cleaning.

3. Do not connect the appliance to the mains voltage until completely assembled and adjusted.

4. Switch off and use handles where provided when moving.

5. Do not immerse the appliance in water or in other liquids. Short circuits or fires may occur.

Do not let the appliance work in enclosed areas such as a cabinet since it could cause a fire.

1. If the appliance's plug is incompatible with the socket, have the socket replaced with a suitable one by a qualified technician, who must ascertain that the section of the socket cables is compatible with the power absorbed by the appliance. We do not recommend using adaptors and/or extension cables. If they cannot be avoided, however, they must comply with current safety regulations and their ampacity (A) must not be below the maximum ampacity of the appliance.

2. Do not use the appliance in case of malfunctioning or faults, if the cord or plug are damaged, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Turn the appliance off, disconnect the plug from the socket and let it be checked by professionally qualified personnel.

3. Disassembly, repair or reconversion performed by an unauthorized person could cause heavy damages and will cancel the manufacturer warranty.

4. Neither disassemble nor modify the appliance.

5. Repairing the appliance by yourself is extremely dangerous.

1. In the presence of gas leaks from other equipment, ventilate the room well before activating the appliance.

2. Do not remove plug from power socket until the appliance has been switched off.

3. After removing the packing, make sure that the appliance is complete, without visible damage that could have been caused during transport. In case of doubt, do not use the appliance and contact the authorised Technical Assistance centres.

4. When left unattended, always disconnect from the power supply.

5. If you no longer wish to use this appliance, it must be made inoperative by cutting the power supply cable after removing the plug from the power socket. Hazardous parts of the appliance must be rendered harmless, especially as there is a risk of children playing with it.

6. At first use and after a long period of inactivity of the appliance, a slight noise may be heard and a slight odour may be smelled. It is a normal phenomenon which will disappear after a few minutes of operation.

0.5 - PROPER USE

1. The appliance must be used exclusively as an electrical thermal convector with the only purpose of making the room where you are staying comfortable.

2. This appliance is only designed for domestic use or similar, not for commercial or industrial use.

3. An improper use of the appliance with possible damages caused to people, things or animals releases OLIMPIA SPLENDID from any responsibility.

0.6 - UNINTENDED AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS USE

1. Do not use the appliance in areas in which are used or stored petrol, varnishes or other flammable liquids or in environments with the presence of flammable or explosive gases.
2. Do not use the appliance if insecticide gas has just been sprayed in the room or in the presence of burning incenses, chemical vapours or oily residues.
3. Do not use this appliance in small rooms occupied by persons which are not able to leave it autonomously unless constant supervision is supplied.

This product must be used exclusively according to the specifications indicated in this manual. Use different to that specified, could cause serious injuries.

THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT LIABLE FOR INJURY/DAMAGE TO PERSONS/OBJECTS DERIVING FROM FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REGULATIONS CONTAINED IN THIS MANUAL.

1 - IDENTIFICATION OF MAIN PARTS (fig. 1)

2 - INSTALLATION

2.1 - MOUNTING SUPPORT FEET TO THE FLOOR

• Position the 2 teeth of the support feet in the 2 respective slots on the bottom of the appliance.
• Push the feet towards the inside of the appliance so that their teeth are blocked to the frame of the product (fig. 3).
• Make sure each foot is blocked with the 2 supplied screws (fig.4).

2.2 - WALL-MOUNTING THE APPLIANCE

When wall-mounting, the wall to which the appliance is fixed must be in masonry or heat resistant material (not in wood or easily heated synthetic material):

The installation must be done as follows:

• At a distance of at least 60 cm from baths, washbasins or sinks
• At a distance of at least 20 cm walls.

- At a distance of at least 100 cm from flammable materials (curtains, textiles etc.)

• Not below a mains socket.
• Install a mains socket nearby for the power supply to the appliance.
• Make 2 holes in the wall for the 2 supplied wall plugs. The centredistance between the 2 holes must be 330 mm. Both holes must be at least 400 mm from the floor and 600 mm from the ceiling.

- Insert the plugs in the holes in the wall and then fix the 2 upper mounting brackets (the smaller ones) to the plugs, using the screws supplied with them. Make sure that the slot on the 2 mounting brackets are facing upwards. (fig. 5).

- Rest the appliance on a at surface and insert the lower wall mounting bracket (larger one) in one of the central slots of the grill on the bottom of the appli The hole of the bracket must face the wall (g. 6).

- Hang the appliance onto the 2 brackets previously xed to the wall and mark on the wall the exact position of the hole on the lower wall-mounting bracket (larger one) ( g. 7).

- Drill the wall, insert the plug and x the lower bracket to the plug with the suppli screw ( g. 8).

3 - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

- Make sure that the plug is inserted in the mains socket.

- Turn the thermostat knob clockwise so that the reference marker on the knob corresponds with the desired temperature ( g. 9).

- To switch on the appliance, turn the power selector to “A” (g. 11/A) to run it on minimum power.

The activation of the selected mode is con rmed when the LED “A1” ( g. 11/A).

• Turn the power selector to "B" (fig.11/B) to run the appliance at medium power.
  The activation of the selected mode is confirmed by the lighting up of the LED "B1" (fig.11/B).

- Turn the power selector all the way to "C" (fig. 11/C) to run the appliance on maximum power. The activation of the selected mode is confirmed by the lighting up of all three LEDs "A1-B1-C1" (fig. 11/C).

- To switch the appliance "0", turn the selector to the initial position (fig. 10).

3.1 - VENTILATION

- Turning the power selector to positions B and C (medium and maximum power) automatically switches on the fan as well, to heat up the room faster.

3.2 - ANTIFREEZE FUNCTION

• Make sure the appliance is switched on.
• Fully turn the power selector until it reaches the 3 position.
• Turn the thermostat knob fully anticlockwise so that the reference mark on the knob corresponds to the lowest part of the graduated scale.

4 - CLEANING

• Make sure that the product is properly switched off and the plug is pulled out of the socket.
• Let the product cool down completely before cleaning.
• Clean the outside surfaces with a damp cloth.

Don't let liquid get into the heater. Don't put the heater in water or any other liquid.
