3. Function

As an ideal kitchen aid, the fryer manufactured by Arendo allows you to fry products like French fries, according to your desire. Large quantities can be fried owing to the high capacity of max. 3.5 Oil/Fat litres.

4. Before initial use

Check that the product and the components are intact and that the appliance is working properly when using it for the first time. Take the appliance out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Remove all printed documents and other packaging materials. Take out all the removable parts and wash them carefully with hot water. Please do not wash the heater (1) itself, only wipe it with a damp cloth.

Do not immerse the power cord and control box module and the heating element of the fryer in liquids.

Dry all the parts thoroughly before assembly. Do not operate the fryer without enough oil in the oil tank.

The fryer should always be placed on a flat, stable surface where the power cord is out of reach of children and can not accidentally get entangled.

Tips:

  • If you fry several different types of food items, always fry the food that requires the lowest temperature setting first.
  • Do not mix different types of oil for frying.
  • Frying pre-cooked food items can take less time than completely uncooked food items.
  • Replace the oil after using it 10-15 times; or earlier if the oil becomes brown and viscous.

6. Additional instructions

  1. Always place the fryer on a stable surface and keep all flammable materials away from the appliance during use.
  2. Make sure that the fryer is not near or on a stove or a cooking surface that is switched on.
  3. Before using the fryer, it has to be filled with the necessary quantity of oil or fat.

Never use the fryer without oil or fat, as this may damage the appliance.

  1. Never move the fryer during use. The oil becomes very hot. Wait until the appliance and the oil have cooled down completely before moving the fryer.
  2. This fryer is protected by a thermal fuse that automatically switches off the appliance if it overheats.
  3. Never immerse the appliance in water.
  4. Do not leave the fryer unattended if it is switched on.
  5. Always ensure the safety of children when they are near the fryer.
  6. If the fryer and / or the cable is damaged, they have to be repaired by a professional service department. Do not try to repair the appliance or to replace the damaged cable on your own. Special tools are necessary for this.

  7. Take care not to damage the heating element. (Do not bend or dent).

  8. The appliance is fitted with a safety switch which ensures that the heating element can only work if the element is correctly placed on the fryer.

7. Usage

  1. Ensure that the mains plug of the fryer is disconnected from the socket.
  2. Assemble the oil pan in the outer wall (3) and the heating elements (4) in the oil pan (10). Make sure that the controls (1) are properly attached.
  3. Remove the frying basket.
  4. Use only high quality frying oil or fat. If you use fat, melt some of it in a pot to cover the heating elements.
  5. Fill oil into the oil container approximately between the MIN mark and the MAX mark. Make sure that you do not fill more than the MAX mark or less than the MIN mark.
  6. Make sure that the temperature control knob is in OFF position or the timer is in 0 position.
  7. Connect the mains cable to a properly installed socket.
  8. Move the thermostat knob to the desired temperature setting as per the recipe you are using. Start the timer and the indicator light starts glowing.
  9. While the oil is preheating, prepare the food item that you want to fry.
  10. Once the oil reaches the set temperature, the green status LED goes off.

NOTE: The ready indicator switches on and off with the thermostat to maintain the set temperature. The red ready indicator is on throughout the usage duration.

When you put the food item in the basket, ensure that it is as dry as possible. Do not add water, ice or wet food items, as this can cause the hot oil to splash.

If you want to fry frozen food items, remove all the ice particles and thaw the food item thoroughly.

Do not overfill the basket.

  1. Lower the basket into the hot oil and cover the fryer with the lid.

Caution!: Do not touch the knobs during the frying process! Hot steam may escape and cause injuries.

  1. Remove the lid if the food is ready to be fried. Lift the basket slowly out of the hot oil and place the basket on the drain supports at the back of the basket.
  2. Once the excess oil is drained, place the food on a baking tray lined with a paper towel so that the remaining oil can drain off.
  3. If you are frying more than one batch, make sure that the oil is re-heated to the required temperature.

* French fries that are fried a second time, will be lighter and crispier.

9. After use

  1. Make sure that the temperature regulator is in the OFF position and disconnect the fryer plug from the socket.
  2. Once the food is fried, remove the lid, hang the basket using the hook and allow the excess oil to drip into the oil pan.

Caution!: Hot steam will escape if you remove the lid. Be very careful when handling. Keep your face and exposed skin away from the escaping steam.

  1. Take the basket out and place the food item on paper towels to absorb the excess oil. Do not touch the basket as long as it is still hot. Always use the handle.
  2. After draining the excess oil, place the food item on a baking tray lined with paper towels so that the remaining oil can drain off.
  3. Place the basket in the fryer.
  4. Do not move the fryer till it cools down completely.
  5. Please dry all the parts thoroughly.

Note: Do not use scrubbing brushes or chemical cleaning agents to clean the appliance.

10. Cleaning and Care

  1. Remove the lid and the frying basket.

Caution!: Before cleaning the fryer, make sure that it is disconnected from the socket, and the appliance as well as the oil have cooled down completely. The oil remains hot for a long period after use. Do not try to carry or move the fryer while the oil is still hot.

  1. Wait for the fryer to cool down and remove the operating elements and the heating element.
  2. Remove the oil pan and pour the oil out. It is advisable to filter the oil after each use, if you want to reuse the oil.
  3. After removing the oil pan, the fryer can be divided into several separate assemblies for cleaning.
  4. The oil pan, the outer wall, as well as the frying basket and the handle can be put in the dishwasher for cleaning
  5. The control box and the heating element should be wiped using absorbent paper towels. Then use a damp cloth and a mild soap for cleaning.
