To ensure proper ventilation and prevent the collection of dirt or dust:
- Do not lay the LCD Monitor flat, install upside down, backwards, or sideways.
- Do not place the LCD Monitor on a shelf, rug, bed or in a closet.
- Do not cover the LCD Monitor with a cloth, such as curtains, or items such as newspapers, etc.
- Do not install the LCD Monitor as shown below.


Do not block the air circulation area.
Mains lead
Handle the mains lead and socket as follows in order to avoid any risk of fire, electric shock or damage and/or injuries:
- Use only mains leads supplied by Sony, not other suppliers.
- Insert the plug fully into the mains socket.
- Operate the LCD Monitor on a 100 V - 240 V AC supply only.
- When wiring cables, be sure to unplug the mains lead for your safety and take care not to catch your feet on the cables.
- Disconnect the mains lead from the mains socket before working on or moving the LCD Monitor.
- Keep the mains lead away from heat sources.
- Unplug the mains plug and clean it regularly. If the plug is covered with dust and it picks up moisture, its insulation may deteriorate, which could result in a fire.
Note
- Do not use the supplied mains lead on any other equipment.
- Do not pinch, bend, or twist the mains lead excessively. The core conductors may be exposed or broken.
- Do not modify the mains lead.
- Do not put anything heavy on the mains lead.
- Do not pull on the mains lead itself when disconnecting the mains lead.
- Do not connect too many appliances to the same mains socket.
- Do not use a poor fitting mains socket.
Never insert the USB plug when the product or charging cable is wet.
- When the USB plug is inserted in a wet condition, a short circuit occurs due to the liquid (tap water, salt water, refreshing drink, etc.) attached to the main unit and charging cable or foreign matter, which may cause abnormal heat generation or malfunction.
NOTE ON MAINS ADAPTOR
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus. Do not install this equipment in a confined space, such as a bookshelf or similar unit.
- Please ensure that the mains socket is installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
- Be sure to use the supplied mains adaptor and mains lead. Otherwise, it may cause a malfunction.
- Connect the mains adaptor to an easily accessible mains socket.
- Do not coil the mains lead around the mains adaptor. The core wire may be cut and/or it may cause a malfunction of the media receiver.
- Do not touch the mains adaptor with wet hands.
- If you notice an abnormality in the mains adaptor, disconnect it from the mains socket immediately. The set is not disconnected from the mains source as long as it is connected to the mains socket, even if the set itself has been turned off.
- As the mains adaptor will become warm when it is used for a long time, you may feel hot when touching it by hand.
Prohibited Usage
Do not install/use the LCD Monitor in locations, environments or situations such as those listed below, or the LCD Monitor may malfunction and cause a fire, electric shock, damage and/or injuries.
Locations:
- Outdoors (in direct sunlight), at the seashore, on a ship or other vessel, inside a vehicle, in medical institutions, unstable locations, near water, rain, moisture or smoke.
Environments:
- Places that are hot, humid, or excessively dusty; where insects may enter; where it might be exposed to mechanical vibration, near the source of naked flame, such as lighted candle, which is placed on a LCD Monitor. The LCD Monitor shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the LCD Monitor.
Situations:
- Use when your hands are wet, with the cabinet removed, or with attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. Disconnect the LCD Monitor from mains socket during lightning storms.
Install the LCD Monitor so that it sticks out into an open space. Injury or damage from a person or object bumping into the LCD Monitor may result. - Place the LCD Monitor in a humid or dusty space, or in a room with oily smoke or steam


(near cooking tables or humidifiers). Fire, electric shock, or warping may result. - Install the LCD Monitor in places subject to extreme temperature such as in direct sunlight, near a radiator or a heating vent. The LCD Monitor may overheat in such condition which can cause deformation of the enclosure and/or LCD Monitor malfunction.


- If the LCD Monitor is placed in the changing room of a public bath or hot spring, the LCD Monitor may be

damaged by airborne sulfur, etc.
- For best picture quality, do not expose the screen to direct illumination or sunlight.
- Avoid moving the LCD Monitor from a cold area to a warm area. Sudden room temperature changes may cause moisture condensation. This may cause the LCD Monitor to show poor picture and/or poor colour. Should this occur, allow moisture to evaporate completely before powering the LCD Monitor on.
Broken pieces:
- Do not route a thick cable or multiple cables through the hole in the stand. This could damage the cable and cause trouble or malfunction. The LCD Monitor may not move smoothly under such cable conditions. - Do not throw anything at the LCD Monitor. The screen glass may break from the impact and cause serious injury.

About LCD Monitor Temperature
When the LCD Monitor is used for an extended period, the panel surrounds become warm. You may feel hot when touching there by the hand.
Do not place this product close to medical devices
This product (including accessories) has magnet(s) which may interfere with pacemakers, programmable shunt valves for hydrocephalus treatment, or other medical devices. Do not place this product close to persons who use such medical devices. Consult your doctor before using this product if you use any such medical device.
Keep out of the reach of children or the supervised individuals
This product (including accessories) has magnet(s). Swallowing magnet(s) could cause serious harm, such as choking hazard or intestinal injuries. If magnets (or a magnet) were swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Magnetic influence
This product (including accessories such as covers) uses magnets. Do not place magnetically sensitive objects (cash cards, credit cards with magnetic coding, etc.) near this product.
Precautions
View the LCD Monitor in moderate light, as viewing the LCD Monitor in poor light or during long period of time, strains your eyes. - When using headphones, adjust the volume so as to avoid excessive levels, as hearing damage may result.
Screen:
- Although the screen is made with high precision technology and 99.99% or more of the pixels are effective, black dots may appear or bright points of light (red, blue, or green) may appear constantly on the screen. This is a structural property of the screen and is not a malfunction.
- Do not push or scratch the front filter, or place objects on top of this LCD Monitor. The image may be uneven or the screen may be damaged.
- If this LCD Monitor is used in a cold place, a smear may occur in the picture or the picture may become dark. This does not indicate a failure. These phenomena disappear as the temperature rises.
- Ghosting may occur when still pictures are displayed continuously. It may disappear after a few moments.
- The screen and cabinet get warm when this LCD Monitor is in use. This is not a malfunction.
- The screen contains a small amount of liquid crystal. Follow your local ordinances and regulations for disposal.
Handling and cleaning the screen surface/cabinet of the LCD Monitor
Be sure to unplug the mains lead connected to the LCD Monitor from mains socket before cleaning.
To avoid material degradation or screen coating degradation, observe the following precautions.
- To remove dust from the screen surface/ cabinet, wipe gently with a soft cloth. If dust is persistent, wipe with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a diluted mild detergent solution.
- Never spray water or detergent directly on the LCD Monitor. It may drip to the bottom of the screen or exterior parts and enter the LCD Monitor, and may cause damage to the LCD Monitor.
- Never use any type of abrasive pad, alkaline/acid cleaner, scouring powder, or volatile solvent, such as alcohol, benzene, thinner or insecticide. Using such materials or maintaining prolonged contact with rubber or vinyl materials may result in damage to the screen surface and cabinet material.
- Do not touch the LCD Monitor if your hand is covered in any chemical substance such as hand cream or sunblock. Periodic vacuuming of the ventilation openings is recommended to ensure proper ventilation.
- When adjusting the angle of the LCD Monitor, move it slowly so as to prevent the LCD Monitor from moving or slipping off from its table stand.
Optional Equipment
- Keep optional components or any equipment emitting electromagnetic radiation away from the LCD Monitor. Otherwise picture distortion and/or noisy sound may occur.
- This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits set out in the EMC Standards using a connection signal cable shorter than 3 meters.

Installation/Set-up
- Install and use the LCD Monitor in accordance with the instructions below in order to avoid any risk of fire, electric shock or damage and/or injuries.
Installation
- The LCD Monitor should be installed near an easily accessible mains socket.
- Place the LCD Monitor on a stable, level surface to prevent it from falling over and causing personal injury or property damage. Install the LCD Monitor where it cannot be pulled, pushed, or knocked over.
- Install the LCD Monitor so that the LCD Monitor's Table-Top Stand does not protrude out from the LCD Monitor stand (not supplied). If the Table-Top Stand protrudes out from the LCD Monitor stand, it may cause LCD Monitor set to topple over, fall down, and cause personal injury or damage to the LCD Monitor.

Transporting
- Before transporting the LCD Monitor, disconnect all cables.
- When transporting the LCD Monitor by hand, hold it as shown below. Do not put stress on the LCD panel and the frame around the screen.

- When lifting or moving the LCD Monitor, hold it firmly from the bottom.
- When transporting the LCD Monitor, do not subject it to jolts or excessive vibration.
- When transporting the LCD Monitor for repairs or when moving, pack it using the original carton and packing material.
Installing the LCD Monitor to the Wall
This LCD Monitor's instruction manual only provides the steps to prepare the LCD Monitor for Wall-Mount installation before it is installed on the wall.
Your LCD Monitor can be mounted to a wall using a suitable Wall-Mount Bracket (not supplied). If the Table-Top Stand is attached to the LCD Monitor, the LCD Monitor may require detaching the Table-Top Stand. Prepare the LCD Monitor for the Wall-Mount Bracket before making cable connections.
For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommends that installation of your LCD Monitor on the wall be performed by qualified professionals. Do not attempt to install it yourself.
- Follow the instruction guide provided with the Wall-Mount Bracket for your model. Sufficient expertise is required in installing this LCD Monitor, especially to determine the strength of the wall for withstanding the LCD Monitor's weight.
- The screws for installing the Wall-Mount Bracket to the LCD Monitor are not supplied.
- The length of the screw for Wall-Mount Bracket differs depending on the Wall-Mount Bracket thickness. Please refer to below illustration.

Power cord
To prevent fire, electric shock, damage, or malfunction, use the power cord as follows: Use only the original Sony power cord. Do not use other brands. Insert the plug fully into the outlet. Connect the LCD monitor only to a power supply of 100V-240V AC. When routing the cord, for safety, ensure that the power cord is unplugged; be careful not to trip over the cords. Unplug the power cord from the outlet before cleaning or moving the LCD monitor. Place the power cord away from heat sources. Unplug the power cord periodically. If the power cord is damaged or wet, or if moisture forms on it, unplug it immediately; this could lead to fire.
Caution
Do not use the supplied power cord with other equipment. Do not bend, twist, or pull the power cord excessively. The internal wires may break. Do not modify the power cord. Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Do not pull the power cord when unplugging it from the outlet. Do not connect too many devices to a single outlet. Do not use an outlet that does not securely hold the plug.
Never place the USB charger or cable for charging in a wet place.
If the USB connector is wet, disconnect it from the main unit and dry the cable or material that may have become damp before reconnecting it to avoid malfunction.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE ADAPTER
Warning
To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture.

Make sure that the electrical contacts are installed close to the equipment and are easily accessible.
- Make sure you use the provided adapter and cable. Otherwise, this may cause malfunction.

LCD monitors do not disconnect the power supply while they are connected to the electrical outlet, even if the LCD monitor is turned off. If the adapter is submerged, and you continue to use it, you may feel heat when you touch it.
Prohibited use
Do not install/use the LCD monitor in places or situations described below. Otherwise, the LCD monitor may be damaged or cause fire, electric shock, damage, or malfunction.
Location:
On an open (under direct sunlight), on a ship, on a vessel or other craft, inside the vehicle, in public places, on unstable surfaces, above water, placed on the floor, or near a heat source.
Ambient environment:
Places that are hot, humid, or exposed to rain; where insects may enter; where it may be exposed to mechanical vibration, near a source of open flame such as a candle, placed on top of an LCD monitor. The LCD monitor should be protected from moisture; do not place objects with moisture near it, such as a vase.
Situations:
Do not use if your hands are wet when plugging in the device or its accessories, which are not protected from the manufacturer. During thunderstorms, unplug the LCD monitor. Do not mount the LCD monitor in a way that it can fall. It may cause injury or damage from impact to a person or object. Do not place the LCD monitor in a damp or wet place, or in a place with high humidity.

Do not run cables or many cables through the opening of the stand. This may damage the cable and cause problems with the LCD monitor, possibly resulting in malfunction. Do not throw anything at the LCD monitor. The screen surface may crack or explode upon impact and cause serious injury. If the surface of the LCD monitor is cracked, do not touch it until you unplug the power cable. Otherwise, it may cause electric shock.
When not using the device
To save energy and for safety, we recommend unplugging the LCD monitor from the outlet when you do not plan to use it for several days. The LCD monitor is not disconnected from the power source when it is turned off. To disconnect the device completely, unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet.
Regarding dust
Do not allow dust to accumulate on the LCD monitor. - Keep small accessories away from dust, so they are not affected by it.
If problems occur...
If the LCD monitor is damaged, contact your dealer or Sony service center for repair. The LCD monitor must be checked and qualified by service personnel.

The screen may be damaged if it is hit or dropped. Do not place heavy objects on the monitor. Do not insert any objects into the openings of the cabinet.
Regarding the temperature of the LCD monitor
When the LCD monitor is used for a long time, the frame around the panel becomes warm. You may feel the heat when you touch it.
Do not place this product near medical equipment
This product (including accessories) contains magnets that may interfere with pacemakers, programmable shunt valves for hydrocephalus, or other medical equipment. Do not place this product near such equipment. Consult your doctor before using this product if you use such medical equipment.
Keep the product in a place where it cannot be reached by children or pets
This product (including accessories) contains magnets. The magnets may cause serious injury, such as swallowing or choking, or damage to the intestines. If the magnets are swallowed (or inhaled), consult a doctor immediately.
Magnetic influence
This product and its accessories, such as the remote control, use magnets. Do not place objects that are sensitive to magnets (such as cards, credit cards with magnetic stripes, etc.) near the product.
Precautions
- View the LCD monitor in moderate light, as viewing it in dim light or for a long time may cause eye strain. When using headphones, adjust the volume to avoid hearing damage.
Screen:
Although the screen is manufactured with high-precision technology and more than 99.99% of its pixels are effective, black or bright dots (red, blue, or green) may appear on the screen. This is a structural characteristic of the screen and is not a malfunction. Do not press or scratch the screen, and do not place objects on the LCD monitor. The image may be uneven or the screen may be damaged. If you use the LCD monitor in a cold place, the image may appear dark or become dim. This is not a malfunction. This phenomenon disappears when the temperature rises. If still images are displayed for a long time, residual images may appear. They may disappear after a few seconds. The screen and the cabinet become warm when you use the LCD monitor. This is not a malfunction.
Small amount of thermal paste crystals. Follow local rules and regulations for disposal of such waste.
Cleaning and maintenance of the surface of the screen/casing of the LCD monitor
Make sure you have unplugged the power cable from the LCD monitor before cleaning. To prevent damage to the screen surface, follow the instructions below.
To remove dust from the surface of the screen/casing, wipe with a soft dry cloth. If additional cleaning is needed, wipe the screen with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild cleaning solution.

Never spray water or solution directly onto the LCD monitor. On the screen or other parts, drops may form, which can run down and penetrate the inner part of the LCD monitor and damage it. Do not use abrasive cloths, cleaning agents on an alkaline/acidic basis, solvents such as alcohol, benzene, thinners, or insecticides. Using such substances for a long time may damage the screen surface or the surface of the casing of the device. Do not use the LCD monitor if your hands are covered with a chemical substance like cream for hands or lotions. - Periodically clean the ventilation openings with a vacuum cleaner to ensure proper ventilation. When adjusting the height of the LCD monitor, place it on a stable surface to prevent the LCD monitor from falling or being damaged.
Additional equipment
Do not place additional components or any equipment near the LCD monitor that emits electromagnetic waves. Otherwise, the picture and/or sound may be distorted. This equipment has been tested and complies with EMC standards, using shielded signal cables of less than 3 meters.

Installation/Setup
- Install and use the LCD monitor in accordance with the instructions described below to avoid the risk of fire, electric shock, or damage and/or malfunction.
Installation
Place the LCD monitor on a stable, flat surface to avoid it falling, which could cause injury or damage to property. - Mount the LCD monitor in a place where it cannot be pulled, bumped, or overturned. Place the LCD monitor so that the stand for the LCD monitor is not the stand on which the LCD monitor is placed (not supplied). If the stand is pulled out from under the LCD monitor, this could cause the LCD monitor to overturn and fall, leading to injury or damage to the LCD monitor.

Removal
Before moving the LCD monitor, disconnect all cables from it. When moving the LCD monitor to another place, hold it as shown below. Do not press on the LCD panel or the frame around the screen.

Cable connection

When connecting the power cord, make sure the plug is securely inserted into the outlet. - Before performing any work on the LCD screen, disconnect the power cord from the outlet.
