Items supplied
Soldering gun
2 soldering tips
1 plastic tip
Solder wire
Plastic case
Use
The soldering gun is designed for light-duty soldering jobs, soldered electric connections, model-making and poker-work.
Additional safety information
● Hold the heated soldering gun only by its handle. Risk of burns!
● Put down the heated soldering gun only on non-combustible and heat-resistant surfaces. Risk of fire!
● The soldering tip coupling has to be secure. Check before beginning your work.
- Keep the power cable away from the soldering tip at all times.
- Do not stick down the ON/OFF button. - In view of the high working temperatures involved, you should use a suitable fixture to secure the workpiece in position.
● The soldering tip becomes hot during use
8
and may cause burn marks, scorch marks and - in the worst case - burn wounds and fires if not used without proper care.
● Never dip the soldering tip into water, and never hold the soldering tip under flowing water.
● Wear safety goggles during soldering work. Tin and flux spatter may cause eye injuries.
- Some flux materials give off unpleasant vapors when heated. Make sure the work area is well ventilated.
Operating instructions
● Every heating phase of a maximum 12 seconds must be followed by an OFF interval of at least 48 seconds. In other words, the soldering gun may only be used in intermittent mode.
- Make sure that the parts to be soldered are clean. Clean them in advance with steel wool or fine sanding paper.
- Make sure that the soldering tip is finned; if it isn't, use the supplied solder wire. Never use a tile to clean the soldering tip. Wipe the soldering tip on a silicon sponge and then in it.
- Heat the joint and not the solder. Touch with the soldering tip the parts you want to solder so that both parts are uniformly heated. Add a little tin solder to the joint.
- Withdraw the soldering gun carefully and quickly without moving the parts you are soldering.
- Do not use too much solder. Use only as much solder as necessary.
● Take care not to overheat electric and electronic components.
- If you want to join wires together by soldering, you should first tin their ends. Twist the strands together, heat them and add a little tin spider.
- The plastic tip can be used to repair objects made of thermoplastic material (children's toys).
● The standard soldering lip can be used for poker-work (burning motifs on wood and leather).

Technical data
