How to connect the TT-602 turntable to an amplifier?

Use the RCA outputs (white for left, red for right). Connect them to a line input (CD, AUX, TAPE) of the amplifier. Do not use the PHONO input because the turntable has a built-in preamplifier.

How to adjust the counterweight for correct stylus pressure?

Place the counterweight at the back of the tonearm. Adjust it so that the arm is balanced (reading 0 g). Turn the counterweight scale to 0, then turn the counterweight to the desired value (in grams) according to the cartridge recommendations.

What to do if the sound crackles or hisses?

Check that the turntable is connected to a line input (not PHONO). Clean the stylus with a soft brush and the record with an antistatic cloth. Check the adjustment of the counterweight and anti-skate.

How to record a vinyl to a computer with Audacity?

Connect the turntable via USB to the computer. Open Audacity, select the USB recording device in Preferences > Audio I/O. Start playing the record, then press the red Record button. Use Pause to interrupt and Stop to finish.

Why is the recording in mono instead of stereo?

On Windows (especially Vista), check in system settings that the USB device is set to stereo (2 channels) and not mono or microphone. In Audacity, select 2 channels (Stereo) in the recording preferences.

How to install the drive belt?

The belt is pre-installed but may move during transport. Place the platter on the center spindle. Rotate it to see the motor pulley through a hole. Grasp the belt and place it over the motor pulley. Make sure it is not twisted and the platter rotates evenly.

Can I use non-original accessories?

It is not recommended to use non-original accessories as they may damage the device. Only use accessories provided or recommended by the manufacturer.

How to clean the turntable?

Always unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft damp cloth (no detergents or chemicals). For the stylus, use a special brush in the back-to-front direction.

What to do if the turntable does not turn on?

Check that the power cord is properly plugged in and the wall outlet works. Make sure the power switch is in the ON position. If the problem persists, contact an authorized technical service.

How to adjust the anti-skate?

Anti-skate compensates for centripetal force and is adjusted according to the tracking force. Use the dial provided on the tonearm. Generally set it to the same value as the stylus pressure (in grams).

1. Start/stop switch

Rotate this switch to start or stop the platter.

1. Platter

Note: the platter is equipped with a slip mat. This makes it easier to manipulate the record for scratch performances.

Install cartridge here. During installation, attach the stylus protector to guard the stylus tip from damage. Attach wires as follows:

• White (L+) Left channel +
• Blue (L-) Left channel -
  • Red (R+) Right channel+
• Green (R-) Right channel -

5. Headshell locking nut

Attach the head shell by inserting it into the front end of the tone arm and then turn the locking nut clockwise.

6. Tone arm

Fully manual tone arm. To start playback, gently place the stylus on the record using head shell finger support OR use the tone arm lifter.

7. Tonearm lift

Controls the up and down action of the tone arm.

8. Anti-skate knob

Applies inward force to the tone arm so it doesn't skip outwards across the record due to the centrifugal force of the record spinning.

9. Counterweight

Adjustment creates the proper downward pressure of the stylus to the record. Attach now by sliding the counterweight onto the rear of the tone arm. Twist it lightly and it will screw onto the rear shaft of the tone arm. Counterweight adjustment: bring tone arm in 0-level with counterweight. When leveled set scale on counterweight to 0 (watch the stripe). Now turn the counterweight until it shows the specified downward pressure in gram.

Standard analog output (RCA jacks) which can be connected either to phone or line input on any DJ mixer, depending on the setting of the phone/line selector.

Warning: Incorrect platter setup can lead to poor turntable performance, platter instability or permanent motor damage.

1. The rubber belt has been pre-installed onto the turntable platter. However, please turn the platter over and make sure that the belt is attached and is not twisted. If the belt has come off during shipping, please place it around the inner bottom ring of the turntable platter, as shown above (no. 1).

2. Place the platter on the center spindle and press it down firmly. Rotate the platter until the brass motor spindle is visible through one of the holes. Check to make sure that it rotates uniformly and does not wobble excessively.

3. Pass your fingers through the hole, grip the rubber drive belt and install it over the motor spindle. Be careful not to twist the rubber drive belt during this step. Check to make sure the platter rotates uniformly. If the drive belt is properly installed, there should be a slight amount of tension that brings the platter to a stop after spinning it freely.

Setting up your PC to work with Audacity

1. Connect an input source to the unit
2. Connect the USB lead to your computer
3. Open the Audacity program
4. Select Preference from the Edit tab in the Audacity menu

Recording Albums with Audacity

1. Saving a project

• Audacity write all the changed and recorded audio to directory called projefcftname_data, which is located right where you saved the project file itself
• Thus, select Save project as from your Audacity File tab and choose a location and filename for your project
• Please note that when you startup Audacity fresh, only the "Save As..." menu option is available.

2. How to record

• Set your USB turntable up to play the song or album you want to record
• Click on the red Record button to start the recording.

- Click on the blue Pause continue.

That's it. You can now play around with your recording and explore the editing capabilities of Audacity.

Remember that you can use the Undo function almost without limits while the project is open. Note: CD'S cannot be burned directly from the Audacity application. Other CD burning applications should be used.
