How can I connect the STARKVIND purifier to the IKEA Home Smart app?

Download the IKEA Home Smart app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Remove the front cover of the purifier to access the pairing button. Follow the app instructions to add the device to your TRÅDFRI gateway. Make sure the gateway is within 10 meters in open field.

How to clean the pre-filter and the air quality sensor?

Unplug the device before cleaning. The pre-filter can be cleaned with a vacuum or with water (depending on condition). The air quality sensor should be gently vacuumed every 6 months. Never use abrasive products or solvents.

When should I change the filters and how to replace them?

The LED light on the control panel illuminates to indicate that the filters need to be checked. The particle filter and gas filter (optional) should be replaced every 6 months. Unplug the device, remove the pre-filter, then the used filters. Install new filters, plug in, and press the RESET button for 3 seconds.

How to adjust fan speed and automatic mode?

Turn the control knob to manually select levels 1 to 5. Press the button to activate automatic mode, where the PM2.5 sensor adjusts speed based on air quality. Press again to turn off. A long press locks the control. You can also control via the app.

What do the air quality indicators (green, orange, red) mean?

The indicators show PM2.5 particle levels: green (0-35, good), orange (36-85, acceptable), red (86 and above, poor). They are active only in automatic mode.

Can I leave the purifier on continuously?

Yes, the device is designed for continuous use. However, unplug it if not used for a long period. Follow maintenance intervals to maintain performance.

What is the power consumption of the STARKVIND?

Consumption varies by speed: from 2.0 W (level 1, with particle filter) to 33.0 W (level 5, with particle filter). With gas filter, it is slightly lower (1.9 W to 25.0 W). The adapter has a standby consumption of 0.1 W.

Is the STARKVIND compatible with voice assistants?

The device is compatible with the TRÅDFRI gateway and the IKEA Home Smart app. It can be integrated into a smart home system, but voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant) require additional configuration via compatible bridges. Check the IKEA website for more information.

What to do if a burning smell or smoke comes from the device?

Unplug the power cord immediately and contact IKEA after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. Regular maintenance reduces this risk.

Can I use the purifier in a bathroom or kitchen?

No, the STARKVIND is designed for dry indoor use (temperature 0-40 °C, humidity 10-60% RH). Do not install it in a bathroom or near a heater. In a kitchen, it does not replace an extractor hood or ventilation system.

Operational safety

• Do not spray any flammable materials into the air inlet.

• Replace filters with new ones according to filter replacement cycles. Product performance may otherwise deteriorate.
• Do not push or lean against this product since it may tip over and cause physical injury or product malfunction.
• The product does not remove carbon monoxide (CO) or radon (Rn). It cannot be used as a safety device upon accidents involving combustion processes and hazardous chemicals.

STARKVIND air purifier E2007:

You will find the pairing button by removing the front cover.

• The range between the gateway and the receiver is measured in open air.
• Different building materials and placement of the units can affect the wireless connectivity range.
• If the app can't connect your air purifier to the gateway, then try to move the air purifier closer to your gateway.

Fan speed control

The fan speed can be regulated between 1 to 5 and Auto mode.

Auto mode

In Auto mode, the product selects the fan speed in accordance with the ambient air quality. The air quality sensor is active and measures PM 2.5 particles when the air purifier is running.

Only in the IKEA Home smart app. Indicators for air quality (PM 2.5):

Green: 0-35 / Good

Amber: 36-85 / OK

Red: 86- / Not good

When STARKVIND air purifier is connected to the mains for the first time, the LED lights on the control panel light up in succession. When the LED lights stop illuminating, the product is ready to use.

Press the control knob to put it in Auto mode, or

Turn to the desired level. Press the knob again to turn it off.

A long press activates the Control lock. It can also be controlled from the app IKEA Home smart.

Care instructions

Unplug the product before cleaning. To clean the product, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Use another soft dry cloth to wipe dry. Vacuum clean the pre-filter regularly.

Note!

Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents since these can damage the product.

Vacuum clean the air quality sensor regularly.

Filter replacement

When replacing the filter, it is essential that the user proceeds as follows:

One LED light illuminated on the control panel indicates that you should check your filters.

Warning!

The power supply cord must be disconnected during filter replacement!

1. Disconnect the power and wait until the fan has stopped.
2. Remove the pre-filter and clean the pre-filter with a vacuum cleaner or with water depending on how dirty it is.
3. Remove filter(s), and handle used filters carefully. Dispose of the filter(s) in accordance with local environmental regulations for waste disposal.
4. Clean the inside, removing all dust and dirt.
5. Insert the new filter(s). (Touch only the frame of the gas filter).
6. Reconnect the power supply cord.
7. When you have replaced a filter, press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds. The reset initialises the filter replacement cycle counter.
8. Fix the pre-filter in place.

- Wash your hands thoroughly after replacing the filter(s).

1. Unplug the device from the power supply and wait until the fan stops.
2. Remove the pre-filter and clean it with a vacuum cleaner or

wash it in water depending on how dirty it is.

1. Remove the filter(s) with careful handling of used filters. Dispose of the filter(s) in accordance with local waste disposal and environmental protection regulations.
2. Clean the interior and remove dust and dirt.
3. Install the new filter(s). (Only touch the frame of the gas filter).
4. Reconnect the power cord.
5. After you have replaced the filter, press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds. This will reset the counter for the filter replacement interval.
6. Secure the pre-filter in its place.

- After replacing the filter, wash your hands thoroughly.
