How to pair the RIG 800HD headset with my PS4?

Plug the supplied USB adapter into your PS4, then turn on the console. In settings, go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices and select Plantronics RIG800XX as the output device. If you are using a standard PS4, also set Settings > Sound and Screen > Audio Output Settings to Digital Output (Optical).

Can I use the headset on Xbox One?

Yes. Plug the adapter into your Xbox One, turn on the console and check for updates. Then go to Display and Sound > Kinect and Devices > Device Options > Assign to assign the headset.

How to recharge the headset and what is the battery life?

Use the supplied charging cable (micro-USB) to plug the headset into a USB source. A full charge takes about 4 hours and a half. The earcup indicator is red during charging and turns off when the battery is full. Battery life can reach 24 hours depending on usage.

How to adjust the equalization on the RIG 800HD?

Press the EQ button on the earcup to cycle through modes. One tone = Pure mode, two tones = Seismic mode (enhanced bass), three tones = Intense mode (sound details), four tones = Vocal mode (vocal frequencies highlighted).

The microphone is not working, what to do?

Make sure the microphone boom is lowered (it mutes in the up position). Ensure the headset is properly paired with your console. On PC, check audio settings. If the issue persists, reset the connection by turning the headset and adapter off and on.

How to activate privacy mode (mute)?

Simply lift the microphone boom fully upward. This instantly mutes the microphone. Lower the boom to unmute.

The headset won't turn on, what to do?

Make sure the headset is charged (plug it in for at least 30 minutes). If the red indicator does not light up during charging, try a different cable or USB port. Ensure the adapter is properly connected to the console/PC. If nothing works, contact Nacon support.

How to adjust game and chat volume separately?

Use the two buttons on the earcup. The upper button controls the game/chat balance, the lower button controls the main volume. On PS4 Slim, set the upper button to the middle for perfect balance.

Is the headset compatible with PC?

Yes. Plug the USB adapter into your PC. If you are using the RIG 800HX or LX models, switch the toggle on the back of the adapter to PC. The headset will be recognized as an audio device.

What to do if the wireless range is poor or the sound is choppy?

Remove obstacles between the headset and adapter. Avoid interference (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microwaves). Move the adapter closer to your gaming area. Reset the connection by turning the headset and adapter off and on.

Setup and basics

Your adapter comes pre-paired to your headset. After you adjust and charge your headset and configure your adapter, power on your headset and it's ready to go.

Fit Your headset components easily snap into the headset frame to configure the best fit and sound.

The headband adjusts to three sizes (small, medium, large) by moving the earcups. To remove an earcup, press the earcup to detach it from the headband.

Charge

It takes up to 4.5 hours to fully charge your headphones. The headset LED is red while charging and turns off when complete.

Adjust volume 1 To increase or decrease the game and chat volume, adjust the top headset dial.

2 To increase or decrease the master volume, adjust the bottom headset dial.

IMPORTANT For the PS4 (slim version), set the top headset dial in the middle; game and chat remain balanced. Use the bottom headset dial to increase or decrease the master volume.

Mute

Lift the boom to a full stop to mute the microphone.

CAUTION Do not force the boom past its upper or lower limits.
