How to install the LQS04 motion sensor?

You can install it in two ways: flush (drill a 13 mm hole) or surface (use the bracket with provided screws). Connect the cable to the switching module, then connect the module to the LED strip and a 12-24V DC power supply.

What is the detection range of the LQS04?

The range is 1 to 3 meters, with a detection angle of 110°.

How long does the light stay on after detection?

The time delay is fixed at 45 seconds after the last detected movement.

What supply voltage is required?

The detector operates in 12-24 V DC. It is designed for 12V or 24V LED strips.

Can I use this detector outdoors?

No, the IP20 rating limits it to indoor use. It must be protected from rain and humidity.

Can the detector be mounted on the ceiling?

How to test the detector before final installation?

Connect the detector to the switching module, the LED strip, and the power supply. Test by moving in the detection zone. If everything works, proceed with mounting.

What to do if the detector does not turn off?

Check that there is no persistent movement in the area (animals, moving objects). Ensure the 45 s delay is respected. If the problem persists, check the wiring.

What type of LED strip can I use?

Any 12V or 24V LED strip, with a total current not exceeding 3 A (max 36 W at 12V, 72 W at 24V).

Is the detector compatible with a dimmer?

No, the detector operates in on/off mode. It is not designed for dimming.

4. Features and specifications

• PIR motion sensor for recessed and surface mounting. Thanks to its compact design, this sensor can be discreetly mounted in ceilings, walls, cabinets or dressers. You have the choice of building this sensor in by simply drilling a 13mm hole or installing it as surface-mount with the included bracket.

5. Installation

Determine the Mounting Location:

Determine where to place the PIR motion sensor. Choose a location for the motion sensor where the chance of unintended movement is minimal. The detection angle is 110^ and the detection distance is 1 to 3 meters.

When the human body moves within the detection range, the PIR motion sensor turns on the light. When the human body leaves the detection range after a 45-second delay, the PIR motion sensor turns the light off.

Important!:

Connect the motion sensor to the LED driver and LED strip and test the operation in a test setup. If the result is good, you can start the effective assembly.

1. Recessed mount:

Use the drill to drill a hole at the marked location. Make sure the hole is large enough (13mm) to safely mount the sensor.

Insert the sensor into the drilled hole and fix it securely with some mounting glue if necessary). Then connect the connecting cable to the switch module.

2. Surface mount:

Mount the sensor with the screws provided. Then connect the connection cable to the switch module.

Mount the LED Strip:

Mount the LED Strip in an aluminum profile.

Connect the wiring from the switch module of the PIR motion sensor to the LED Strip and connect the input of the switch module to an LED power supply. Connection diagram see page 3.
